The dungeon gate shimmered open like broken glass in the air.
“Clear condition: **Be happy.**”
Cha Eui-jae stared at the glowing letters with deep suspicion. “That’s it? No boss? No traps?”
Beside him, Lee Sa-young tilted his head, red eyes narrowing slightly. “Sounds more dangerous than a boss.”
The gate sealed behind them with a soft *click*.
The dungeon looked nothing like a battlefield. It was a sunlit meadow, warm breeze brushing through endless flowers. A small picnic blanket sat under a tree. Two cups of tea steamed gently on a low wooden table.
Eui-jae crossed his arms. “It’s a trap.”
Sa-young walked forward first.
The moment he stepped into the sunlight, tiny glowing letters floated up:
**Happiness Level: 12%**
He frowned. “It’s measuring us.”
Eui-jae stepped beside him.
**Happiness Level: 13%**
“…Why is yours higher?” Sa-young asked flatly.
“Because I’m not the one scowling at flowers,” Eui-jae shot back.
Sa-young looked personally offended by the existence of daisies and butter cups.
They examined the area carefully. No monsters. No hidden magic circles. Just soft grass, warm light, and the faint smell of fresh warm Sandwiches and cupcakes.
Eui-jae hesitated, then sat down on the picnic blanket. “Fine. Let’s test it.”
Sa-young stood there for a long moment before sitting across from him, stiff as if expecting the ground to explode.
Eui-jae poured tea into Sa-young’s cup.
Sa-young stared at the tea like it had betrayed him. “…It’s just tea.”
“Drink it.”
He did.
The breeze grew warmer.
Sa-young looked at him. Really looked at him. The sunlight caught in Eui-jae’s hair, his black hair dancing in the wind his blue eyes sparking enjoying the scenery and his eyes softened.
The system flickered.
**Happiness Level: 20%**
Eui-jae looked at Sa-young surprised
"What did you do it went up",
Sa-young didn't say anything just reached over and held Eui-jae's hand the breeze became softer
The dungeon shifted. A fluffy white creature—something between a a few bunnies —hopped over and headbutted Sa-young’s knee.
He stiffened.
“Pet it,” Eui-jae said lightly, as the bunny proceeded to climb on Sa-young's shoulder and head
“I don’t—”
The creature squeaked and jumped into Eui-jae's lap.
After a long, painful pause… he awkwardly patted its head.
**Happiness Level: 21%**
“…This dungeon is ridiculous,” Sa-young muttered, but he didn't move.
Eui-jae watched him, softer now. “You don’t hate it.”
Eui-jae’s fingers moved more naturally through the creature’s fur.
“…I don’t hate it.”
Silence settled between them — not tense, not sharp. Just warm.
Eui-jae reached out without thinking and brushed a stray petal from Sa-young’s shoulder.
Their eyes met.
**Happiness Level: 34%**
The meadow brightened.
Sa-young’s expression gentled — barely, but enough. “You’re enjoying this.”
“Maybe,” Eui-jae admitted. “No fighting. No protecting people. Just… this...nice.”
The creature made a happy chirp and flopped against Sa-young’s chest.
Sa-young glanced at Eui-jae again. “…Stay like this for a bit.”
Eui-jae smiled — softer this time.
“Yeah. Let’s.”
The system chimed one last time.
**Happiness Level: 42%**
Sa-young pulled Eui-jae close to him hands gently on his waist. Eui-jae didn't fight it, they both stared at eachother softly purple eyes reflecting the blue ones and Sa-young moved forward and landed a soft kiss on Eui-jae's forehead then slowly moved to his cheek and ear and chin before pulling away.
Eui-jae just closed his eyes and took it before leanly forward and biting Sa-young's soft cheek.
**Happiness Level: 56%**
"Hyunggg..", Sa-young whined
Eui-jae just smirked and bite him again, Sa-young pouted and bit Eui-jae, lower lip they both played biting eachother's lips and licking the bite marks.
**Happiness Level: 67%**
They stopped and looked at the status window.
And Sa-young completely picked up Eui-jae and put him on his lap licking his lip asking for entery as soon as Eui-jae opened his lips Sa-young's tongue slipped into the wet warmth gently sucking his lips and Eui-jae moved with Sa-young's tongue almost like a practiced dance
They finally broke apart out of breath a sting of saliva connecting their lips
**Happiness Level: 78%**
Sa-young smirked
"It's working huh never thought I'd be sad leaving a dungeon before"
Eui-jae just gently tangled his fingers with Sa-young soft curls enjoying the texture and nuzzled into his chest, Sa-young froze just for a moment before pulling Eui-jae deeper into the hug
"....you know our world is going to probably end soon",
Eui-jae said his pinky finger rubbing circles on Sa-young's big chest
"Mh ....i know", Sa-young replied lightly holding Eui-jae tighter
Eui-jae buried his face in Sa-young's neck smelling the sweet smell he's grown used to
"I wish we can stay here forever ... together",
Sa-young slowly shook his head "we both know you can't live with urself knowing you like people die ...no matter how much I don't like that part of you...your still hunter J" he smiled to himself almost self mocking.
Eui-jae didn't say anything for a while because he knows Sa-young was right
"So we just have to save the world then", he muttered softly and Sa-young hummed in agreement
They both sat then in eachothers arms lost in their own thoughts
**Happiness level: 72%**
"Oh it went down" Eui-jae mumbled and slapped Sa-young's cheek softly
Sa-young also snapped out of his thoughts staring at the status window
"So we just gotta keep kissing then", he chuckled
Eui-jae just nuzzled deeper into the crock Sa-young's neck making him laugh louder
**Happiness Level: 79**
"I'm your only sucess", Sa-young muttered to himself
"Yeah", Eui-jae confirmed
And then kissed him again harder rougher like he was trying to prove a point Sa-young reciprocated returning the kiss with the same intensity
**Happiness Level: 91%**
They spent a few more hours walking around the meadows just talking about themselves and things they like, they sat back down on the soft blanket and sat in a peaceful quiet afraid to break the silence anymore
"....I love you", Eui-jae said softly looking at a small bunny jumping over a log
Sa-young paused for a moment then smiled
"Love you to hyung", he almost whispered back
They both kissed again soft and lazy like they both knew this was real and refused to let go
And for once, neither of them were thinking about survival.
The system chimed one last time.
Happiness Level: 100%
The dungeon cracked like glass around them, dissolving into warm light. Just before they were pulled back to the real world, Sa-young’s hand gently held against Eui-jae’s.
He didn’t pull away. He never did
Just the warmth of sunlight.
And each other.
