Saikawa: “Hey Kanna!” She waved at her friend from across the street with a
giant smile. Kanna looked at her with a straight face and waved back.
Kanna: “Hey Saikawa.”
Saikawa ran across the street happily.
Vroom!
Kanna: Look out!
Saikawa gasped! *Skid, Crush, Silence*

…
…
“K-K-Kanna?”

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring* Miss Kobayashi: Hello? Kobayashi speaking… Kanna
WHAT?!?!

Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture ICU
Saikawa was sniffling and shaking in Georgie’s lap as the sound of rushed
footsteps zoomed to the room. The door flew open with a loud crack! The two
sisters jolted and saw Kobayashi, Tohru, and Elma sweating with deep concern
in their eyes. Kobayashi spoke first.
Kobayashi: “How’s Kanna?! Is she ok?! What exactly happened?”
Saikawa: “It’s all my fault.” She looked at the floor woefully.
Georgie: “Stop saying that Riko. You know it wasn’t your fault for any of this.”
She looked at Miss Kobayashi, a serious yet pained look in her gaze. “Saikawa
ran across the street to greet Kanna, when a car suddenly sped towards her.”
Saikawa: “Kanna saved my life, b-but she’s been unconscious for thr-three
hours now.”
Elma: “Did they say when she should wake up?”
Georgie: She should wake up soon.
Elma breathed a sigh of relief. “Thats good.”
Tohru: “And the driver?”
Georgie: “They’re in custody right now.”
Tohru: “Tsk. Pathetic. I should torture the bastard for hitting Kanna.”
Kobayashi: “You know as well as I do that she wouldn’t want that.”
Tohru growled.
There was a quiet groan. Kanna stirred awake while her eyes were shut. “L-lady
To-Touhru?”
“Kanna! Can you hear me?”
“Mmmmmm.” Her eyes slowly opened. A mesh of colors were gradually taking
shape. “Where am I?”
Miss Kobayashi: “You’re In the ICU right now. Do you remember what
happened?”
“I remember heading to school. Saikawa-wait! Saikawa! Is she ok?
“I’m fine Kanna. Thanks to you. But you got hurt because of me.”
Kanna gently smiled. “I have to protect my everything.”
Saikawa’s face turned a deep red as steam blew from her ears. It took all her
willpower not to scream with cutesy joy. “Thank you Kanna. It’s getting late now
and I have school tomorrow. Bye Kanna!” With a final hand wave, Saikawa left
the hospital room with Georgie. Miss Kobayashi, Tohru, and Elma were about to
talk to Kanna when suddenly, the sound of light footsteps rushed over.
Saikawa entered the room one more time.
“Oh did you forget something Saikawa?” Miss Kobayashi asked slyly.
Without answering, Saikawa leaned over Kanna’s head. *MWAH* “Get well soon.
I love you.”
“I love you too Saikawa.”
