Chapter Text

Sasha quickens her pace as The Magnus University comes into view, not quite running, but hurrying so as to not be late. She always arrives on time, and she’s not about to start showing up late now, even if the reason she stayed up until it was morning was to study.

She weaves her way through the small crowd of fellow almost late students, making her way to the doors as quickly as possible without pushing anyone out of her way.

She slips through the doors, nodding at Rosie and giving her a smile as she passes the front desk, not having the time to stop and chat, even though she really does want to.

Sasha goes through her mental map of the university once more, charting a metaphorical path to the classroom housing this morning’s International Trades lecture, before she turns the corner down the hall, following the quickest route she can think of to get to the far off room.

She doesn’t bother glancing at the other lecture halls she passes, not wanting to waste her time, and risk cutting it even closer. She barely even gets distracted as she goes by the library, the old mahogany doors trying to call her into the endless supplies of books.

She’ll be going there to study later anyways, she doesn’t need to stop by now, so she just does her best to ignore it’s pull.

Sasha turns the corner, relieved as she makes it into the classroom with minutes to spare. She quickly climbs up the stairs, finding a seat off to the side, with a good view of the whiteboard. She pulls her bag over her head and off her shoulder, setting it on her lap to get her textbooks and notebooks for the course, before putting it between her feet.

She glances around the room, trying to spot Tim. It’s one of the few classes they share, and they usually sit together. If she can find him and get his attention, she’s certain he’ll move to the empty seat next to her.

She sighs, not being able to see him in the sea of other students. She supposes they’ll just have to catch up in between classes.

Sasha glances back down at the door, before spotting the man her thoughts had been engrossed by entering into the room, his hands full, carrying two styrofoam cups.

Tim scans the faces around for a good few seconds before he finds her and grins, bounding up the stairs to take the seat next to her.

“Goooood morning.” He says as he sits, drawing out the first word.

“Good morning Tim.” She replies, smiling back at him. “You seem to be in a good mood this morning.”

“Oh, I’m just doing fantastic.” Tim responds, overenunciating. “There was a line out the door of the cafe I went to, and so I had to run the rest of the way here. Couldn’t ask for a better start to the morning.”

“You do know you could’ve just left the line and not risked being late, right?” Sasha asks, raising her eyebrows as she looks at him.

“But there’s no fun in that. Cutting it close gives my life a bit of danger, some spice, if you will. And besides,” Tim says, placing one of the two cups on her desk. “If I had left I wouldn’t get to surprise my favorite history nerd with a coffee.”

“You really didn’t have to.” She replies, pulling the drink closer, a bit further from the edge. “And if it could make you miss the start of class you really shouldn’t.”

“Relax, I did get here on time.” He shrugs, leaning back in his chair.

“Barely.” She responds, rolling her eyes.

Tim opens his mouth to say something more, before noticing how quiet the room had become, and shutting it.

“Good morning students.” Professor Salesa greets the class, getting everyone's attention. “Shall we begin today's lecture?”

Notes:

We're so back guys!

I'm so excited to be posting again, there's some moments in this fic I can't wait for you all to get to read, and I've been missing getting to see what people think of new chapters :)

I hope you enjoyed this one, and I will be updating daily as before

Also, note, in case you caught it, both Salesa and Peter are professors of the International Trade course, Peter just teaches the night classes (less people). Just wanted to clear that up so there wouldn't be any confusion :D
