The quiet of the desert was a welcome relief, proof that his pursuers hadn’t followed him all the way out here. It wasn’t the first time that Obi-Wan had been driven out of a town; he was just the wrong sort of outlaw, the kind that made enemies of the rich and powerful instead of bribing them.
But it was the first time that Anakin had been the one driving him out, and the quiet brought that crashing back down on him. Obi-Wan slumped against his horse, searching for any possible motivation for the betrayal.
The desert gave no answer.
