Chapter Text
The sun began to set as Ze, Regect, and Moe ran back to their house, challenging eachother to see who could make it back first. While Moe took it as a friendly competition, there seemed to be very harsh tension between Ze and Regect. They were pushing and yelling at each other, which inevitably led to the both of them being last by half an hour. Moe was overly annoyed by this and went up to her room as the two argued downstairs.
“You always do this, you always have to be a dickhead!” Ze yelled at Regect, trying to wipe off the mud from his face after Regect pushed him face-first into a puddle of mud.
”You were in my way, okay? It was more of an obligation if anything!” Regect yelled back, taking out the leaves and tiny sticks from himself since he tried to fly and get ahead but got stuck in a tree.
The loud bickering went on for what seemed to be hours to Moe, which said a lot since she was upstairs in her room. She wanted Ze and Regect to get along again, or argue with eachother without the true hatred in each word. Suddenly, an idea hit her, and a grin was plastered on her face the entire night.
(Timeskip because I would rather ROT then write an entire night of these chuds doing nothing but yelling at each other.)
The next day, Ze and Regect barely spared a glance at the other as they ate breakfast. When the tension in the air began to ever so slightly fade, Moe burst into the room honking rapidly.
[TRANSLATION FOR MOE:] “Guys, there’s this new restaurant not too far away from here! We should go!! Can we go??”
Ze and Regect looked at each other and then back at Moe, the both of them not planning to go anywhere today.
“I don’t know Moe, I mean… what even is there to eat over there? I’m not trying to go crazy with a burger today.” Ze asked Moe, finishing up his plate of eggs.
[TRANSLATION FOR MOE:] “It’s a really fancy one, you know? Like the good steak and good appetizers!”
Regect was instantly with going out to eat, already hungry thinking about it even though he just got done eating. (FATASS!!!!!!)
“I mean, I think it’s a good idea. The house already stinks anyways with you here.” Regect poked fun at Ze, who dropped his fork and stood up from his chair.
”I know you aren’t talking, Regect!”
Moe only sighed as she watched the two of them get at it again, going up to her room to prepare the rest of the day since the both of them can’t seem to act right today.

It was around evening time when the three of them left. Moe offered to drive them since she apparently had already eaten at the restaurant and wanted the both of them to try it for themselves. Hesitant but downright hungry, they agreed nonetheless and headed out. Moe had left them to dine and told the two that she had already made the reservations and everything under her name, so they were set to eat.
At a two-person circular table with a white tablecloth and a candle at the middle, the two sat awkwardly across from the other, looking anywhere but the other. The both of them were too stubborn to say anything, and only until they got their drinks and accidentally made eye contact did Ze finally say something.
”Look, Regect, im honestly sorry for being so snappy lately. Work’s just been really hard lately, and life in general has been really shitty behind the screen. I guess I shouldn’t have taken my problems out on you.” Ze made zero direct eye contact with Regect while apologizing, too nervous to do so. But his apology was genuine, which sort of moved Regect to speak up aswell.
“Dude, it’s fine, don’t worry. I’m sorry too for being an asshole. When you began being more moody, I guess I just kind of thought you were joking at first, but eventually it began to get more personal, and… yeah. Look, what im trying to say is that im sorry too.” Regect looked directly at Ze, a stark contrast from what Ze did. Ze finally looked directly at Regect, remembering how much he liked being around Ze. The two of them looked at each other, both of them having a faint redness in their face as their eyes practically explored each other. Suddenly, Regect noticed that Ze’s character stopped moving and that Ze had muted his microphone, leaving him confused and curious.
”Ze? Ze, are you there?” Regect called out to Ze, beginning to grow nervous.
Behind the screen, Ze was contemplating his entire life, not believing the sensation in his heart and the thoughts he was processing. His entire life, he was told that there was only one right way to love, and he had tried to push that hateful belief away since he grew up, but his brain had always told him that he didn’t like… men. Regect had snapped him out of thought, yelling loudly at Ze.
”ZE!!!” Regect yelled, which caused Ze to take himself off of mute and snap his focus back to Regect.
”Sorry, what were you saying? I, uh, zoned out.” Ze apologized, drinking the rest of his drink.
”I wasn’t saying anything, I-… you know what? Wait right there.” Regect got up from his chair, before Ze’s game began to act funny. Regect approached Ze’s in-game character, before a full-fledged hand (THE FUCK REGECT???) came out of Ze’s screen, making him fall off his chair in pure horror.
Regect eventually fully got out of Ze’s computer, standing there like it was nothing. Ze was backing away, astonished and shocked at the sight before him.
“WH- HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?!” Ze asked frantically, his mind not being able to process what was going on.
”Oh, something I learnt from Ptolemy. Now, are we doing this or what?” Regect approached Ze, eventually watching as Ze backed up against his bedroom wall, Regect practically a few inches away from Ze’s lips.
The sight was something Regect had wished he could experience more than just today, seeing Ze all so frightened and flustered. This was definitely doing something to his heart, because even his transparent face illuminated something of a light golden blush.
”Wh- doing what? We never planned anything since apparently you wanted to be a show-off and climb out of my computer.” Ze exclaimed, trying to keep his composure. This scenario was also doing things to his heart, and he never wanted this to end. The both of them had so many unspoken feelings for eachother, and it was as clear as day to everybody else besides them both.
Suddenly, Regect did it.
With Regect’s hand swiftly but carefully holding the back of Ze’s head, Regect pulled Ze into a gentle and warm kiss. Nothing sloppy or messy at all, just something to show that Regect had yearned for this romantic moment for a while now. Ze was shocked at first, but eventually fell into the kiss, deepening it if anything. After what seemed to be forever, the both of them pulled away to take a breath, the only thing connecting them being a string of saliva. Ze stammered on his words as Regect’s other hand cupped Ze’s face, Regect’s own transparent face illuminating a more vibrant gold color than before.
”I- wh-… d-did you like it?” Ze asked awkwardly, too flustered and red to atleast try and pretend to act normal.
”Dude, what do you mean did I like it? Who asks that after a kiss?” Regect bullied Ze a little, chuckling.
