Charlie’s combat boots thumped against the pavement as she walked. She was wearing her typical black combat boots, a pair of jeans, a dark blue off the shoulder shirt and a leather jacket. Her long curly hair was pulled back into tight box braids. Next to her, her best friend, Ari, was in her typical blue Converse, fraying jean shorts, white tank top, and her own leather jacket. But, the person who was making Charlie's heat race was Peyton. Charlie had never had the courage to bring a partner to her apartment before but here they were. They were dressed in purple Converse, tight jean shorts, a t-shirt with their favorite band on it, and the leather jacket that Charlie had bought them.
“Wow.”
Charlie turned to look at Peyton who had stopped short as soon as they realized which apartment building they were headed towards.
“Ok, I knew you were rich, obviously,” they gestured at the surrounding apartment buildings which were some of the most expensive in the city, “but I did not realize you were Luthor rich.”
Charlie bit her lip nervously, “I kind of avoided talking about it. I didn't want to be known as the rich kid at college.”
“Ok, fair.”
Ari glanced back and forth in between the two of them. “Are we good? Cause I really want to be back in my home away from home.”
“Yeah, sure.” Peyton replied. “But who the fuck are you parents, babe?”
Charlie smiled as the doorman let them into the front lobby. “Hey, Anton. And for the record I never lied about who my parents are.”
“You said that they were a scientist and a cop.”
Ari laughed, “They are.”
“And they can afford this …” Peyton trailed off as they saw which private elevator Charlie had led them to.
Charlie smirked slightly as the three of them stepped into the elevator. “Well, technically my mom is a scientist who owns part of L-Corp and is the CEO and founder of the alien hospitals. And my Mamí is a former cop turned founder of the education system used to teach about aliens and integrate aliens into life on Earth.”
“YOU’RE PARENTS ARE ALEX DANVERS AND MAGGIE SAWYER!!!????”
