He was always more aloof.
Staying away in band photos, always off doing his own thing..
But Kitty couldn't help it.
He was just.. So cute!
She noticed all his little details. The way he was so talented, in that he could perform while playing guitar. She always found him cool..
When Jimmy first introduced them when she joined the band, her heart skipped a beat. She wasn't old enough at the time though, nor did she have much feeling for him either. But the way he stood, how wide he was, his buzzcut..
She always enjoyed the little time they spent together. The way he would linger around her after a show, when the were packing up their instruments.. It felt like there was something between them.
She would always look into his eyes, and he would look right back and smile.
After years of this, she couldn't help but develop a crush...a crush on this cool, handsome guy.
Her crush got so intense to the point where she got sidetracked each time they played a show. She couldn't keep her eyes off him. So she knew it was time. Time to confess. Hope that he would return her feelings.
After they finished packing up, Steve lingered by her once again, like he always would. She looked into his eyes and he gave her a grin, sending a wave of affection through her.
"Steve, I like you."
She couldn't keep it in, the words had just spilled out of her mouth! A blush covered her cheeks and she turned away, a bit embarrassed from her mistake.
"Jen.. I like you too."
He turned her back around and gave a kiss. Just a peck on the lips though. Brief contact for their brief affections towards each other.
It would stay like this. After everyone left, and they were all alone. Just them two.. Then they could share their passion, their kisses, but it never became anything more.
"Steve!" She would muster when the whole band was together, but he would just pretend not to hear it. It was like he was ashamed of being with her.
Another time, it was just them, again. Just the two of them, in their small tour bus.
He was absentmindedly tuning his guitar, getting ready for their upcoming show.
She came over and placed her hand on top of his, stopping him from strumming a string.
"Steve.. We need to talk."
He nodded and smiled, that same smile she was in love with.
"What are we?"
His face fell and he looked away.
"I dunno.. But we can't be dating. Anything but that."
She looked the opposite direction, feeling her heart shatter in her chest.
"But why?"
"Because."
He didn't want to say it at first, but he knew he had to.
"Because me and Jimmy are dating!"
She took her hand and placed it on his cheek, turning him towards her. She showed a warm smile and kissed him, for the last time.
He kissed back, trying to make up for leading her on for so long.
She pulled away, and then cried.
