It all starts with a typical day in Danville, but more specifically at Doofensmirtz Evil Incorporated~
The evil scientist had built another inator and the semi-aquatic agent is fighting the scientist while they accidentally knock into the inator causing multiple misfires. Perry, previously clung onto Doofensmirtz, jumped off of him onto the floor, keeping high momentum, bounced up from the floor and kicked him in the stomach causing the scientist to fall back on his back.
"Ow!" Heinz had cried out.
Perry held his fists up in preparation for Heinz's next attack but, something is off. The scientist took way longer than usual to get up, in fact he wasn't getting up at all. Slowly, Heinz tried to use his arms to anchor himself up but the pain coming from his lower back is too unbearable.
"Timeout! Timeout!" Heinz said in a hurry. Perry had already gone off guard before Heinz had said this.
Perry hurried to Heinz and tried to help him sit up. After he said stressed that he cannot sit upright on the floor due to the pain, Perry carried Heinz to the couch to the best of his ablilities despite their significant size difference.
"Perry the platypus, do me a favor and hit the self destruct button for me will ya?" Heinz said while physically struggling with the pain and winced while he rested on the couch.
Perry had been too focused on his nemesis to even remember that the whatever inator was still on. Without leaving the injured scientist's side, Perry used his grappling hook to destroy the machine by hitting the self destruct button. Expressing his worry with a nervous "krkrkrkrrrrr", Perry started to panic slightly.
He placed one paw on the hand of the injured scientist while using the other to sign [Hospital?].
".. yeah I- I think I might need to go to the hospital this time, Perry the platypus." Doofenshmirtz said.
[Can you sit upright?] Perry tried to stay nonchalant as usual but the guilt and worry in his eyes give everything away. Weird that he cannot conceal himself near this silly scientist, huh?
"I'll try." Heinz sighed
Perry gestured for him to wait a moment, he ran off to a supply closet and walked out with a conveniently placed wheelchair. Perry has to hold his arms almost completely straight up to push the wheelchair by its handles. He first locked to wheels, then offered his hands to support Heinz as he gets onto the wheelchair, thankfully with a soft leather cushion.
"To the hospital!" Heinz announced.

One x-ray later, the two found out that Perry had fractured Heinz's pelvis.
"Mister Doofenshmirtz-"
"Doctor. ... It's doctor Doofenshmirtz." Heinz corrected.
"..Riight.. Doctor Doofenshmirtz, luckily this is considered a minor fracture-"
Perry let out a silent sigh of relief.
"-so you'll just need to stay hospitalized for approximately 5 days here."
"Five days?! Five days of no evil doing and medical bills? Oh absolutely not, I am getting out of here, Perry the platypus."
Perry places one paw on Doofenshmirtz's hand.
[O.W.C.A. will cover the bills.]
"Wait, they can? Oh come on! I've been paying for all the previous explosive damage."
Perry raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I know, I know, my own inators are my fault, fine." Doofenshmirtz said as he crossed his arm.
The two was so immersed in their conversation, they hadn't noticed that the hospital doctor had left.
"Well, thanks for bringing me here Perry the platypus, you can go home now." Doofenshmirtz said somewhat disappointed, as if he was preparing for loneliness.
Perry tipped his hat ready to leave but he hesitated. He looked at Heinz with guilt and apologized once more, holding a tight fist and putting it on his chest, drawing a slow circle. [Sorry.]
To be honest, Perry hadn't expected Doofenshmirtz to get injured this easily considering he gets blown up all the time. He had made a mental note to himself, don't hit Heinz too hard.
"Yeah I know, it's fine really, as long as you're really sure OWCA is covering my medical bill. Alright, goodbye Perry the platypus." Doofenshmirtz waved as Perry did too.
~~~
After Perry had left the hospital, he texted Carl while walking back to the D.E.I. building to get his jetpack.
Carl told him to get back to his secret lair where he faxed (yes faxed) him the paperwork for this specific situation, though it's usually for when evil scientists requests for OWCA to pay for their bills, this time, it's the agent who voluntarily wanted to pay for their nemesis.
Carl also told him to take the next couple of days off, they had arranged other agents to take care of less threatening tasks and Perry really could use some time with the Flynn-Fletchers to convince them that their platypus really doesn't do much.
After a long 1.5 hours of writing and signing, he mailed to paperwork to OWCA hq then headed back to the house just before dinner to make sure his owners had seen him and stopped the "hey, where's Perry?"s.
~~~
Back in the Flynn-Fletcher house, it was dinner time, Perry sat in front of his bowl but he couldn't eat. The guilt stored in his stomach made him lose all appetit. He shouldn't have injured Heinz that badly, he'd never meant to actually put him in a hospital.
Their fights are filled with violence, sure. But they both make sure that they don't injure each other that badly. He.. couldn't have hurt Heinz that badly. Unless, Heinz is getting weaker? Let's face it, Heinz is 47 this year and he's only gonna get older from now yet he's fighting "the best agent that OWCA has".
The more Perry thinks about it, the more worry he becomes. Even his family was noticing it.
"What's wrong, Perry?" Phineas asked behind Perry while Ferb was also giving a worried look at the platypus.
Perry had to force himself to swallow at least some bites of his food to stop his owners from worrying.
His usual favorite can of pet food was suddenly not as appetizing when he's stressed.
After waiting for the boys to sleep, Perry snuck out of Phineas and Ferb's room to the yard. He's using his personal phone to text Heinz.
...
Perry the platypus
PTP : I'm sorry, Heinz. # [ ィ]>
Dr. D : I know, you've said that before.
: It's really boring here, I've just been rewatching.
Acquaintance non-stop, there's nothing to do,
they won't let me build anything. (read)✓✓
PTP : Didn't Vanessa visit?
Dr. D : She was busy today, out with friends. She said
she'll be here tomorrow though! (read)✓✓
...
Perry reacted with a thumbs up emoji then shut off his phone for the night and hid it under his bed.
He took a sigh as moonlight shone onto his teal fur (or are they feathers?).
Why was he caring about Heinz so much all of a sudden? He had always just beaten him up and left without thinking much about the scientist. What changed? When did this happen?
So many thoughts were going through this trained agent's head right now and it's all caused by one evil scientist. (Curse you Doofenshmirtz the scientist!)
Perry sighed again, he closed his eyes and prayed that this doesn't keep him up all night.
~~~
The next morning, Perry sprung awake at 7am expecting a call from Monogram but, right, Heinz is in the hospital and his colleagues are working hard to provide him with a day off. Without anything to do, he waddles to the backyard. It's a breezy day in Danville today, Perry takes a deep breath in. The scent of flowers enter his nostrils with cool air. Looks like Linda planted these beautiful purple stocks in the flowerbed. Perry walked closer, he sat down in front of the flower cross-legged. He used his paw to reach for the flower and burried his beak into it. It's been a loooonngggg while that the top agent of OWCA has time to sit down and smell flowers.
"Heinz would like these..." Perry thought.
Just a thought.
Until he dug 3 flowers up, cut their stems and put them into a vase. Surely Linda wouldn't notice the missing flowers and Perry had already placed an anonymous order for the exact glass vase from Danvilzon(amazon). With nothing to do, Perry sets off to find Heinz.
Since it was still way too early in the morning and visiting time is at noon, Perry had to break in through the window, just like he usually does at the Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. building. Having the location of Heinz's room memorized helped a ton when locating which window to go through. With one paw on his grappling hook and the other gripped tightly onto a glass vase, Perry flew towards the second windo to the left on the third story of the hospital, gently pulled the window and let himself in. This hospital is not good with security.
"Perry the platypus? What are you doing here, it's not visiting time yet." Heinz is rather socked to see the little teal platypus.
Honestly, Perry didn't know what to say, it's not like he could just say to his nemesis that he *wanted* to see him. So he just chirred with an awkward smile and shrugged. Heinz saw that Perry was holding a vase of purple flowers.
"Perry the platypus, have you got a date later? What's with the flowers?" Heinz asked.
There was a moment of silence that allowed Perry to remember the very vase in his paw. He climbed onto a chair next to Heinz's bed and held the vase with both paws to Heinz.
"F-for me?" Heinz pointed at himself.
Perry nodded. Heinz examined the flowers closely like the scientist that he is, he leaned in closer until his pointy nose poked at one of the petals and he gave them a smell.
"Oh Perry the platypus, these are wonderful, thank you very much." Heinz said with a smile, and placed the vase onto the bedside table next to his bed which is very empty.
It's very rare that Heinz would get a visit, the man doesn't have many friends, and his family sure won't worry about him.
[How you feeling?] Perry signed.
"How considerate of you, Perry the platypus. Well, I'm doing better, I'm feeling less pain. I am very bored though, there's nothing to do in here, I can't build anything. You know how painful that is? To think of so many beautiful schemes but not be able to build them?" Heinz rambles on.
Maybe it was the warmth of the sunlight, maybe it was the relaxed state he let himself be in after knowing he has a week off or maybe it was the security of Heinz's presence, his scent, his soft rambling. Who knows. But, all Perry knows it that, it was comforting. Slowly but surely, during Heinz's yap session, Perry's eyelids grew heavier by each word and Heinz noticed. Heinz's pat on his lap which was covered by the hospital blanket and Perry climbed onto his lap. Reason, unknown, mainly due to muscle memory of the familiar sound and action that is done by his owners many times before. Perry waddled around in circles, then layed comfortably between Heinz's legs and allowed himself to fall asleep.
