The Girl Momiji Met at the Supermarket

Summary:

This is an angst fic. These chapters were written a while ago. I wanted to put them out there because they've been sitting in my Ellipsus library for a while. I want to polish up the fourth a bit before I send it out.

Mahiro is returning to old habits now that they're all going to graduate. She thinks she needs to prove herself, now that her grades are exceeding her old highs. She plans to leave home behind, along with everyone in Onimai. Is it for education, or is it to avoid the judgement she thinks she'll face? Everyone gazes at her with warmth and acceptance no matter what.

Chapter Text

Just like any other lunch period, the girls spent the period chatting about their day and what interests they'd picked up recently.

"Oh yeah! I met someone at the supermarket today!"

"Ehh? The supermarket? Momijiro should be more careful about talking to strangers…" Asahi butted in.

"Hehe… yeah, but she seemed pretty lost, so I helped her out… hey I told you not to call me that!!"

Miyo perked up at the mention of a girl. Of course, AsaMomi was the OTP, but the soul of a shipper does not rest. "Was she cute?! Tell me everything!!!" And her yuri sense seemed to have activated in that moment.

"Well, ah…" Momiji avoided the gaze of the himejoshi. "She was pretty socially inept, honestly… but it was cute…"

"That's mean," Asahi replied, giggling.

"N-not like that! She's just. Not super social!"

"Ehee, just sixteen more chapters…"

"MIYO!!!" Momiji's face turned red.
