He knew he shouldn’t have gone, but something had pulled the young ape towards the smokey distance, making his way through the lush grasslands of the Hollow Earth. One of the whirling holes in the sky had opened once more, and Suko, curious as always, went to investigate..
Kong had left for another hunt with the others, leaving the child with nothing to do other than wait for his return. A dangerous mistake.
Twigs crunched softly between the small ape’s feet, furry hands groping through the tall green columns. He indeed had gone far, farther than he thought this journey would take him. And part of him felt somewhat unwilling to come to realize that he was lost..
Very. Lost.
So he did the only thing that came to mind at the moment, and continued to search for this disturbance. Indeed Kong would be proud if the small ape found something of significance. Maybe that could lessen the trouble that he sensed, in the pit of his stomach, that awaited him back at the tribe. A grueling repercussion of his continued adventures..
At last, Suko chuffed hopefully as more light started to splinter through the tall greens, making him increase his pace.
Painful light bit into his eyes after finally pushing through the thicket with a grunt. The small ape looked around curiously, eyes squinting to adjust to the harsh beam, even though no “sun” dotted the “sky” of the realm. And though the sky was very bright and blinding, a massive mound of dust and debris had welled up like a mushroom. Over the scene.
Walking forward, the ape let out a surprised huff, his foot sinking into a deep patch of dirt. And now that his vision had stopped being teased with blue and green dots, the ape recoiled in realization as he saw a large crater implanted into the wounded earth.
..He should go back. He knows he should go back, but before the little ape could turn away, rethinking his conquest, a slow groan reached his ears, his eyes widening.
And as he turned around with baited breath, young eyes caught a brief glimpse of a tail—a thick, black tail in the cloudy aftermath.. and a large shadow moving, the display making the figure seem enormous…
Suko gasped quietly, stepping away, before he heard a gruff snort, the shape moving in the smoke, looking in his direction. As if the other had heard the latter’s alarm, his small voice through the wafting smog. Suko stared back, frozen, and as some of the air cleared, he looked on with growing terror as piercing eyes met his own, unwavering.
..He ran. He ran fast, pivoting and shooting into the tall grass once more, arms desperately grasping through the thicket again, small, panicked breaths accompanying his great hurry. And behind him, heavy stomps followed.. sounding rather fast for a creature so large.
Run.. RUN.. RUN…!
But whatever was following had no trouble keeping a steady pace behind, the giant’s size working better through the tall stalks, crunching through them with every strong step.
He knew this was a stupid idea. And the worst part was that Kong had told him to keep away from danger, multiple times.. And now look at him, running from who knows what without any help or others to at least see if the young ape would meet his end. And as if the world wanted to already hurry up his looming doom, the small ape fell forward as a particular column of grass had led into an open space. An open space with many white rocks..
And one of these white rocks had broken from his landing, his hand dragging out a yellow goo.
Oh no..
Eggs.
This was just getting worse and worse, the small ape brooded, crab-crawling backwards as another growling presence emerged, this one coming in front of him. A large.. blue-scaled titan slowly crawled out, staring intensely at the small ape, and his yellow-stained palm.
ohhhh no.
Suko quickly clambered to his feet, backing away as the other titan advanced, its eyes bulging with motherly-anger.. An anger of the worst kind. Promising equal blood spilled at its offspring’s expense.
”THOoM! THrOOmM.. THROOM..!”
Suko was frozen with fear, trapped on both sides as the thunderous footsteps behind seemed to grow louder, faster, and closer.. along with the nearing teeth of the angry titan ahead. The small ape staggered back, looking left and right for any escape from this.. but the other titan’s huge claws blocked both paths, making him look back at the towering figure.
“—THOOM! THoooOM! THROOM—!!”
And just when the footsteps appeared to be on top of them, the azure titan bellowed, shredding the ape’s plain of thought into a deeper panic. The other titan pounced forth.. Suko screamed, eyes shutting tight as his small form curled inward on the ground.
He expected teeth. Teeth and red. But nothing came, nothing save for a sudden blast of air, another presence bursting through the brush and spearing into the other titan before its tongue could be lathered with the little ape’s chilled blood.
”SKREEEOONKKKK!!—!” “EEEEEEUUUREEAAHH!!”
Two pairs of fangs bit into the other’s flesh as both other titans twirled and slashed at the other, trying to flay the opponent’s rough skin. The simian’s eyes burst open with alarm, his ears beating with all the screams and shrieks of the battling pair. But when he saw who his assumed savior was, the ape drew in a sharp breath.
Kong’s monster…?
He watched in quiet awe as the fearsome saurian threw and bit at the blue mass of sharp fangs, wincing as the titan emitted pained cries of his own, the other successfully biting into his rough flesh. But Kong’s monster was strong.. And as the other titan finally bowed its weary head, crawling away in defeat, and taking the rest (or what last remained of) the eggs into its arms, Suko felt a shiver roll up his spine as the other’s attention then landed upon him. Deep brown eyes stared back at frightened green, Suko snapping out of his daze as those rumbling steps sounded again, coming towards him.
”W-wait.. I—“ “BGhhhhrrRrr..~”
He couldn’t even form a sentence as that large voice overshadowed his own, rumbling out in a deep growl. But the other’s face.. didn’t appear angry.. Or of that “you’re now my dinner” kind of look, which added a sliver of calm in Suko’s raging heartbeat.
But the large one did not stop, he kept walking towards the young ape, lowering his head. It felt rather unsettling, being watched.. as that reptilian gaze never tore away from the widened, emerald eyes below.
And as the other still showed no signs of stopping, Suko once again began to back away, his hands trembling as he placatingly held them outward, terrified. He did not know Kong’s monster, only knowing how fearsome and scary the latter was.. from what he had seen.
A slow breath fell upon the young one, blowing back his fur.
So this was his fate. Before had been just a mere mockery of his stupidity, but now it must be..—as the high grass seemed to grow more and more sharp..—as a massive shadow enveloped his own..—and as a large tongue then engulfed his hand in slop..
Wait. What..?
”eugh…” Suko groaned, looking at his slobbery hand, dripping wet with saliva, the yolk of the egg wiped clean off his little palm.
And to the ape’s utter surprise, the warm tongue then proceeded to brush against his face, leaving one furry side brushed upward with drool.
“Agh!—Hey..!” “SLOOpPgh” “Eww—!” “Bghhhrr..”
Soft laughs blended into his small voice, the rough appendage continuing to assault the little ape with its calm strokes.
Suko reached out, instinctively holding the titan’s relentless snout, before looking back at the other monster, calming down from his giggles. And they just stayed like that for a moment.. studying the other.
The saurian’s face was rough and scaly, making it hard to distinguish the craggy scales from long-borne scars.. and his eyes looked rather calm, a sharp contrast from the battle-hardened face the titan wore prior..
Suko didn’t realize he was still holding the sides of the saurian’s giant head, but something in the small ape made his hands stay.. proceeding to gently brush the sides of the large snout.. earning a peculiar, engine-like noise from the other.
He was awestruck at how kind the saurian had been, and a part of the young ape amused itself at how he and Kong might interact, based on how soft and gentle the other was being to the small ape. But that was a question he would ask later, once he found his way back.
Still gently stroking the other’s face, Suko’s brow started to knit as he then contemplated the question.
How was he going to get back..?
But as another gentle purr lured his gaze to meet the other’s, Suko’s eyes lit up..
Slowly letting go of the saurian, Suko stepped back and started to.. or rather. Attempted, to speak through sign. Kong used this language before he knew Suko, so maybe.. the saurian possibly knew the tongue of his ally. —No matter, it was worth a shot, right?
It did not work… After trying multiple attempts at communication, the large reptile only tilted his head, his eyes somewhat widening, but his rumble conveying a certain, sorrowful tone.
He did not understand.
Suko dropped his hands after the vain efforts, rethinking. Instead, he then walked over to the large wall of green, motioning with his hands as if he were parting through the dense brush. However, this the large one understood. And Suko watched as that understanding began to make a certain, dangerous pink rise to the surface of his burning scales, the titan’s charging thrum building in volume..
And instantly, a large beam jutted from the saurian’s maw, obliterating the terrain, and leaving a burning hole through the opening.. the edges of the grass blackened at its crisp rim, shriveling inward in pain.
”…Woah..” Suko whispered, looking back at the other, whose pink flame was now fading.
“Thank you..” The small ape said, using the sign Kong had taught him, even though the other may have not understood.
And just when he thought he’d be on his way, he felt himself get swept upward, the ground growing farther as a hot breath once again was felt upon his fur.
“Wait! What are you—?” “BrRGghh..”
Suko was silenced as they began to move, the titan’s large steps echoing their heavy weight. The monster seemed to know where he was going, so Suko remained silent, only observing as the land grew farther and farther away. Many thunderous footfalls marked the King’s steady path, his gait unwavering as they drew nearer and nearer to the apes’ territory. The small ape felt himself sigh in relief, beginning to recognize the landmarks. He had been afraid he had gotten lost, but the saurian surprisingly knew the way to the ape’s destination, an unsettling but helpful revelation.
Once they entered the familiar crag that held the tribe upon the other side, the ground grew closer again as the ape was gently set down, inwardly groaning as saliva once more bathed itself in the ape’s fur..
Great.. he was definitely taking a bath the moment he was—“ROOOAHHGHH—!!”
“HhH!”
A gasp escaped him as the familiar roar of the ape King burst down from the mountain, his presence watching from above..
Suko briefly saw Kong’s expression harden, upon seeing the other monster, who stood behind Suko, looking up at the other ape.
And so, as the saurian nudged Suko forward. He took that as his go to leave..
But before he did so.. He did something that made the other gasp lightly.
Before taking his leave, the small ape stopped in his tracks, turning and walking back to the large one, tentatively patting his leg. A silent thanks, but one that nonetheless made the reptile’s comforting purr return once more.

Unbeknownst to the little ape, his hand had gently stroked over the old scar upon the latter’s thigh, an old wound carved by his rival, who still stood above, watching the display with softened eyes..
Godzilla gazed back up once again, meeting these hazel eyes. And as the small ape finally concluded his odyssey, returning to Kong’s side. Kong saw a certain.. longing look within the King’s expression.. one that made a gentle smile curl at the corners of his mouth, promising a later meeting with the King. But for now, they must both return home, away from curious eyes. And Kong knew he certainly had a lot of explaining to do to Suko.—At least.. after the small ape’s big “talking to” about sneaking out again.
…Thank you.. The ape signed solemnly, rumbling gently down to Godzilla.
”..You're welcome.” The King said back softly, turning away and departing, a quiet excitement making his tail flick subtly—at the thought of another “meeting” with the ape.
