Is There an Issue?

Summary:

Escaping Beacon Hills via the Military

Notes:

I'm a Brit, so hopefully Google has been my friend and I've got the Ranks right.

Work Text:

He’d decided years ago that getting out of Beacon Hill would either involve the Police in some form or another, or it would involve the Armed Forces. That he’d chosen the Forces hadn’t particularly pleased his Dad, but Noah had accepted it, eventually.

“Is there and issue, Private.”

“No Sir.”

Basic training sucked, it really did.  But everyone went through it, there was no escaping it.  He had some idea of where he was being posted after this.  Though in a way he wished he didn’t.  It seemed to be that he couldn’t truthfully get away from the supernatural, for all he had tried.

At least there wouldn’t be a bad guy, creature, being, whatever of the week.  Or at least, he hoped so.

Being hauled in front of his Lieutenant had been no fun at all.  Even if he’d managed to run off the Were something or other that had decided that some of his platoon were fun to play with and would probably make a good meal.

“Is there and issue, Sergeant?”

“No, Sir, but you might want to check the Mountain Ash around the base.”

His Lieutenant had blinked at him for a moment before saying, ‘he would take it under advisement.’

*~*

“Lieutenant, if there’s something you think we should know, it might be a good idea to tell us.”

“Yes Sir.”

His Colonel had just rolled his eyes at him and shook his head.

“And don’t leave my office with a smirk, this time.”

“No Sir.”  Not that would stop him.

Really, the more things changed the more they stayed the same.  Only this time he would be the one in charge, eventually.
