Chapter 1: You’re a warlock Percy

Chapter Text

June, 2006-
Camp Half Blood-
Percy’s Perspective:

After a few days of being at camp, I had started to learn my way around. Annabeth‘s been very helpful teaching me, Greek and Latin. But after one of her lessons, I happened to be passing cabin 11 when I just felt a poll of some sort of energy…

I had never felt anything like this before. I really couldn’t explain it. Naturally, I had to go in and check.

As I entered, I noticed a girl around my age with a book in her hand, and it looks like she was… i’m pretty sure she was practicing magic of some kind. Probably pretty common here as well, but there was just something about it that felt… natural to be near.

“Umm hello?” She instantly jumped as whatever she was doing instantly stopped. “Oh I’m so sorry for startling you. I just… I don’t know. I just Felt the energy of whatever you were doing and I came in to investigate because I was curious… i’m sorry for startling you.”

She composed herself before speaking, “It’s alright, you’re the new kid, right? I’m Lou, Daughter of Hecate, goddess of witchcraft.” I answered, “Yeah I’m new. I’m Percy, son of Sally Jackson and unknown.”

She nodded, “You said that you could feel that I was practicing my craft? Can you elaborate on what you meant?” I rub the back of my neck, honestly not knowing how to explain it. I tried, “Like, it felt like something familiar… some thing I had all the confidence in the world to do? That doesn’t make sense… I don’t know how to describe it but, I don’t know there’s just something about it that seem familiar and I couldn’t help myself but investigate.”

Lou nodded clearly thinking. She gestured for me to sit down next to her. “Here why don’t we try something. I want you to sit right next to me, crisscross applesauce. I’m going to put my spell book on your left knee and I want you to put your hand on the book. Oh, I also want you to put the back of your right hand. On your right knee.” I sat next to her and she place the book on my knee, and I place my hands as she asked. “Now I want you to repeat these words, Εκάτη, Δώρα, Ξύπνα. I want you to focus, close your eyes and focus on everything.”

I closed my eyes and just focused… I just kept repeating “Εκάτη, Δώρα, Ξύπνα, Εκάτη, Δώρα, Ξύπνα, Εκάτη, Δώρα, Ξύπνα…” I just kept focusing and repeating, and I actually felt the ADHD relax and calm. Honestly, I’ve never felt this calm relaxed in control… honestly, I kind of felt at peace and I’m not sure how long I was doing this for…

Lou spoke, “Okay, you can open your eyes Percy.” I slowly open my eyes and and salt in my right hand a… sigil, I think glowing with, ethereal energy. Lou spoke, “Your mother must be a sorceress of great power, for you to have mastered that with ease…”

Chiron’s Perspective:

“You win this round Mr D.” I’ve been just off since returning with Jackson and Mr. Underwood. Honestly, everything‘s just been so chaotic since the solstice and now it looks like Percy might be our only chance of stopping that…

I just happened to glance out birds, and saw Percy and Lou running towards us. “Miss Blackstone, Mr. Jackson, what do I owe the pleasure?” Both of them walked onto the porch, and Miss Blackstone gave Percy a nod, as he close his eyes, and started whispering Εκάτη, Δώρα, Ξύπνα… after the second time, he said it, the sigil of Hecate appeared glowing above his right Palm.

Great… just great.
