Luuk sat on one of free chairs, sighed and after unwrapping ate one of his candies. It was just beginning of the Academy year and already many students came to Nursing Unit with a lot of different problems and there still were more students signed up for later like one that was said that got hit by motorcycle.
When Luuk first heard from N.A.N.A about this new student who before even properly joining Startorch Academy already was going to Nursing Unit he thought it will be another first year student that got overwhelmed by first day and fainted before campus entrance, but never would he even expect that firstly it will be something sounding so serious that surprisingly turned out without big harm and secondly that it will be somebody from his past, somebody greatly dear to him, somebody from who he didn't even hear a word from for long time.
When Luuk saw him sitting on one of beds he didn't need any more proves that it's indeed his golden boy with his as always captivating golden eyes, but he was slightly different from one he remembered from past. Rover eyes were now calmer and more happy. Luuk wanted to fastly come to Rover side and hug him like he was often doing before, but them he reminded himself about their promises and that his beloved don't remember him, so he decided to introduce himself and if needed then slowly, but surely make memories of their past come back to Rover, so he will not accidentally overwhelm him and make some weighting him memories come back taking this new light away. That's why with difficulty he stopped himself from thinking too much about how he want to just take his beloved in his arms, hold him as tightly as he can and make sure that he will not disappeared for so long without a word ever again and instead decided to introduce himself properly.
Luuk needed to fight huge internal fights with himself when those beautiful golden eyes were looking with interest at him and when finally he heard soft voice that he after hearing again, felt even more how much he missed, he tried to be as much professional, but also friendly and welcoming as he could. Still he couldn't stop himself from his quiet personal greeting that didn't go unheard by leaving black haired man who decided to inquire about it another time after feeling familiarity and some sort of internal push to doctor and he immediately know inside that they needed to meet before.
Days passed and in the meantime of another of Rover adventures and fights he found himself drawn to Nursing Unit or more to it's physician again and again, what of corse didn't left him without his small companion comments.
"Instead of standing here you should go and say hi to him." Said Abby.
Rover took his hand with glowing Tacet Mark up and answered to his companion.
"With everything what is going around Lahai-Roi lately he need to be very busy and we also have things to do Fractsidus plans will not stop themselves on their own."
"Come on, I know you want it a lot, it will take just some minutes and for sure will not be longer that you standing here every now and then."
"Abby."
"What? If you're drawn so much here it means he needed to be very important to past you, so it may also help with your lost memories."
"Maybe another time."
"Always the same, I should make deal with you that if you chicken out again you own me as much food as I want and I promise I will not go easy on you."
"So you want to get my wallet hostage to make me go talk to him?"
"I told you enough times already to visit him, so maybe this will make you finally do something and then when you will be buying this food we can invite him for dinner and talk, so in the end it will be win win situation for us all." Said Abby proud of great plan that it just came to.
Rover shook his head and took his hand down continuing his way to his next mission. In corner of his eyes he noticed Luuk with his never disappearing smile that now looked warm and genuine looking at him through window before focusing back on his patient.
Like this they often passed each other while doing their respective tasks and only had time on small talks or fast "punishment" dinners planed by Abby when Rover didn't listen to his companion who of corse loved every dish that came with it, but the most wanted Rover to take break and spend nice time.
Pull to doctor didn't disappear and got even stronger. Rover felt that there are many still closed memories of their past in his mind, but only thing that he remember are just some small pieces, words and images from which he couldn't make any sense.
Their routine and time of peace end when Threnodian and Aemath problem started. With some backing memories, all danger lurking around and being uncertain about pink haired girl fate Rover couldn't be at peace. He found himself even more longing to comfort that was coming from Luuk, but he felt like he need to resolve problems first before being able to rest properly, so he decided to keep going forward to find solution for everything alone.
Rover became very restless, in one moment he was in campus just to disappeared in another moment and be found in Frostlands. All those travels and lack of proper break were more and more showing up and taking tool on his health which was immediately noticed by keen eyes of physician of Startorch Academy.
Luuk was happy when he saw how Rover looked happier when he showed up at Academy, that's why he decided to take things slowly to not trigger any painful memories of Rover past, but now after everything what happened lately he noticed that Rover is distancing himself from others and was taking worse care of himself, so Luuk decided to help his beloved to not fall into the same sadness again and to make sure he will not get hurt with how badly he treats his health because of many things that he have on his shoulders. That why when he noticed that Rover is getting ready to come back to the Frostland he immediately catched up to him.
"Leaving so soon again? Trust doctor words and take some break."
"Hi Luuk, I will try to take break when I end with this one, so don't worry I'm fine."
Luuk came closer to Rover and got good look at him. "Hm, I don't think that those eyebags together with your body getting slimmer and skin paler is sight of good health. Please don't overwork yourself and take some break." Said Luuk and traditionally extended his hand with candy to Rover to at least give him some small energy boost to not fall back with first cold wind knowing well that changing Rover mind is not an easy task.
"Thank you Luuk, but I really need to check this one out, it may contain helpful information for safety sake of Lahai-Roi. I really promise that I will rest after it."
"I hope so, but as for now I will assist you in this task. Before you try to politely refuse I already took break from my job and prepared, so just let me take my things and we are ready to go."
"You really don't need to."
Luuk just smiled brightly before turning around to get his luggage. "But I want to. Also somebody need to watch over your health, now especially." And when Luuk was sure that Rover will not hear he add" And I will also try my best to make sure you will not lose your new spark in you." Then he came back to Rover side.
"Isn't it too much for just small travel there?" Asked Rover after seeing two suitcases Luuk take with him.
"Last two times when we were there together it was very eventful, so I want to be ready for any surprises."
Travel to Frostlands went for them fast and during it they shared some small talks and Luuk shared with Rover more of his sweets.
When they finally put their feet on snowy land Rover didn't waste any time and immediately went in direction where he wanted to start his next research.
Meanwhile Luuk noticed slowly increasing swaying from side to side of his companion, so he decided to stay close in case he will need to catch him if he may feel weak.
They were coming closer to another ruins where Rover said that he saw some devices that may have helpful information, but when he was slowly getting to more important part energy died making him go back for some exchange energy. To make sure that it will not containing another important information that should be kept from others he decided to not ask for anybody help with this task.
When Rover came closer to metallic door that he closed behind when he was leaving he froze in place with his hand on level of handle.
"What's wrong, are you feeling unwell?" Asked geting more worried Luuk.
"You're weaker lately maybe you really should take break." Added from Rover Tacet Mark Abby.
They both didn't get answer because black haired man felt weak on his legs and before he got wholly overwhelmed by darkness he felt warm arms catching him and heard worried voices of calling him his companions.
When Rover finally woke up he still felt very tired, but he decided to open his eyes and see what was going on around him, even if he felt so warm, cosy and it was very tempting to just sleep more in place that he is now.
Black haired man finally managed to open his eyes slowly and wanted to sit up only to find out that his body isn't listening to him. His own hand went to his face to try to rub of sleep, but he wasn't controlling his moves. He tried to look around himself while still laying on bed only to notice something that took his breath away. To room that he was lying in came shirtless Luuk who was wearing only bottom of pyjamas with two steaming mugs in his hands. Rover tried to look at himself only to see that he is wearing top that was matching Luuk garment. He tried to speak, but again it ended not working.
When Luuk noticed that he wasn't asleep he put mugs on close by dest and came closer to bed.
"I hope I didn't wake you up. I was hoping you will rest more."
"Don't worry I'm feeling better now thanks to great care of my personal doctor, but I think I will feel better if you come back to bed with me." Said back black haired man.
"What kind of doctor would I be if I didn't take perfect care of my the most precious patient." Said Luuk and fastly came close to bed.
'I still can't do anything is it my memory with Luuk or just a dream...' Rover thoughts were stopped when he felt movement on bed and in second he was pinned to it on his sides by Luuk.
"I think I would need to check you out more, what do you say my dear golden boy?" Said Luuk and then he kissed Rover head.
"I would say then that I don't mind that at all."
"Great, let me start then." Said Luuk and then he kissed Rover forehead. "Temperature is normal." Then he kissed Rover cheeks. "Your skin isn't pale anymore and got healthy colour." Then Luuk looked in Rover eyes with his ones full of love and admiration and went on level of Rover lips. "Let's continue check up my love."
Rover closed his eyes and could feel Luuk warm breath on his lips, but before anything more happened he again felt darkness surrounding him. When he finally got back to his senses he woke up and fastly sit up. Rover noticed that he is again in his regular clothes and that he is lying on his bed in cabin. To make sure that he is fully fine he moved his limbs now fully listening to him and hide his geting warmer face in his hand. 'Was this really memory from my past? If yes this place will be dead of me with all those memories that came while being here.'
Rover was so much lost in thoughts that he didn't heard coming to him closer person only when he felt hand on his arm he lightly jumped and looked up. As always smiling warmly at him, but this time with hints of worry in his eyes was Luuk that lightly held Rover.
"Take it easy you just lost your consciousness because of tiredness and malnutrition you should rest more."
"Sorry for making you worry and thank you for your help, I don't know what I will do without you."
"Don't worry about it I promised to help you, but that was last warming, if this happens again your little friend said that it will mean that I should use force to make you rest properly, so you better listen." Said jokingly Luuk.
"I will try to take it easy from now on, so you two will not need to punish me."
"Good, now let me check your temperature you look slightly red on your face."
Luuk took his right glove off and gently put his hand on Rover forehead. Memories from before still very fresh come back to Rover head together with some more that he didn't saw before and he shamefully felt his face getting warmer remembering the same caring and full of love touch from Luuk.
"You're getting more red and your forehead temperature is above normal maybe you should rest more." Said Luuk and then he put his hands lightly on Rover arms.
"Don't worry, I really feel better, again I'm sorry for scaring you and you too Abby." Said Rover, but didn't get answer from his little friend. "Abby?"
"Now you're the one that don't need to worry, your companion and I were preparing dinner for us and I was send to check on you to see if we can continue to make warm nutritious meal for you. Now I apologize, but I better check on your little friend, I hope food will be in state I left it, so rest a little more and drink this before it gets cold it should help you feel better."
Rover laughed lightly and watched as Luuk leave and then put his hand on his heart. After calming down his storming emotions and thoughts and after drinking warm drink that surprising was tasting good and pleasantly warmed him from inside, he slowly standed up and went in direction of delicious smell.
There he saw Luuk and Abby cooking together sometimes taking some spices from one of Luuk suitcase.
"So that is what you have in there, food?"
"I saw that you not only not sleep properly, but also skip meals, so I decided to help with this, but I was hoping that making you rest will be less extreme."
Rover smiled brightly and came closer.
"Thank you, both of you I don't know what would I do without you."
"For good beginning you can thank us by properly eating and resting." Said Abby with what Luuk agreed.
They ate delicious dinner and dessert made by Luuk and decided to rest on couch. Abby immediately went to sleep in Rover Tacet Mark leaving two men alone.
"How are you feeling?"
"A lot better."
"Good to hear that. I hope you will take better care of yourself from now on."
"I will, I don't won't to worry you." Said Rover and yawned.
"You should go back to bed and get some sleep now."
"I will you don't need to nag, but first I want to ask you something." Rover took some time to collected his thoughts and decided to get more answers about their past from patiently waiting for him to continue doctor. "Luuk... in past were we..."
Before Luuk could hear full question he felt light weight on his arms. When he looked to the side he noticed that Rover fallen fast asleep on his arm. Luuk gently pat black haired man head.
"As always you're, so handful my dear golden boy, good that I'm always prepared to support you my love." Said Luuk quietly and then gently kissed Rover head.
