Work Text:
Andrew had moved in to Ivan's apartment due to lack of money. It was pretty good, they remained friends despite doing some intimate stuff together. They were doing pretty good..
But now?
It was different. Ivan was blinded by his obsession with legacy that he took control of Andrew, forcing him to work on his game all the time, no matter if it's day or night.
And of course, Andrew wasn't happy with this, he's tired of getting yelled at, tired of sleeping on the floor and tired of being sleep deprived because of Ivan.
Andrew has tried talking about it but Ivan just twists the little conversation into a pointless argument. It always starts with Andrew talking first, Ivan defending himself. And ends with one of them apologizing.
It's tiring.
It always keeps on repeating. Again and again and again and again..And again.
Andrew is sick of this.
But despite everything, he is still willing to give up himself for Ivan. How careless.
Andrew used to fight.
but now, his actions are controlled by his so called friend.
His existence has become more like a puppet than human at this point.
———
"Hey, Andrew..?" Ivan spoke up, his tone was less aggressive this time. They have conversations but most of them turn to arguments, it was rare for it to end up turning into a normal conversation between the two of them.
"Hm..?" Andrew responded with a curious hum, continuing to work on his game.
"how's your game..?" Ivan replied, attempting to start a conversation.
im pretty sure Andrew hates me.
"nothing new.. Just, patching up the bugs...and stuff." Andrew replied, continuing to click a few buttons on his keyboard.
"you..You should rest.." Ivan adverted his gaze away from the other man, it was rare occurrence for him to say this since he mostly focused on Andrew working on the game.
"I.." Andrew stopped clicking buttons on his keyboard, turning to look at Ivan.
"..why?" Andrew spoke up, patiently waiting for Ivan's response, was something wrong?
"take a break. You earned it." Ivan replied, still sitting on the couch, his legs pressed together.
Andrew's gaze softened for a bit. He hesitantly approached Ivan who was currently sitting on the couch, looking away.
Andrew sat down next to him.
hopefully this time, it would be better.
Andrew focuses his gaze on Ivan's face, It never changed, but something about him changed.
it wasn't like the Ivan he knew before
Ivan was there to cheer him up when he cried. Was there making metaphors when he hit rock bottom, God.
what happened to you, Ivan?
I missed you.
Ivan felt Andrew's eyes staring. It made him feel nervous. He's aware of his appearance now. He looked like a mess.
"Andrew..?" Ivan spoke up, hoping it would make Andrew stop staring..for some reason
"do you remember that time when we were at the rooftop..?"
"together?" Ivan added.
".. yeah." Andrew's gaze softened, looking away. The rooftop.. Their conversation. What would it be if Andrew was better with words?.
Ivan interrupts Andrew's negative thoughts with a chuckle.
"..i missed that." He admitted.
Ivan shifted slightly closer to where Andrew was sitting. The other man noticed him being slightly closer than he was before and he didn't know what to do, should he move closer too? Move away, or pull him into his arms?
Whatever. Just do something.
Andrew slides his hand that was on the couch, moving it closer to Ivan's hand, his skin brushing against his.
Ivan's cheeks turns slightly red at the sudden contact, he was about to pull away, until Andrew took Ivan's hand in his.
Ivan shifted closer, his body touching Andrew's. He didn't wanna get comfortable but, we only live once, right? besides, this isn't the first time they've done this.
"I was thinking.." Ivan broke the silence between them, speaking up.
Andrew's gaze lands curiously on Ivan, waiting patiently for whatever he's about to say.
"We're being so distant lately.." Ivan added. Making it clear what he wanted. He just wanted Andrew's warmth and the feeling of his arms around him.
Andrew nods and hesitantly moves both his arms, wrapping it around Ivan's waist.
Ivan leaned in to Andrew's touch, his head leaning against Andrew's shoulder, soon enough he brought his arms to wrap around Andrew's waist too. They both stayed there in silent, not an awkward silence though. More like a silence where none of them speak, just leaning into each other, a reminder that they're both there. Of course, talking wasn't Andrew's thing, but his presence was enough to make Ivan savour this moment.
A while later, Andrew gently pushed Ivan against the armrest of the sofa. His arms still wrapped around his waist, not planning to let go anytime soon.
Now they were both laying on the sofa with both of their arms interwined as they bring each other warmth, It's been a while since they've done interactions like this.
Ivan closed his eyes, pulling Andrew closer to him, their bodies flushed against each other. Andrew's eyes were closed as his face were buried against Ivan's chest, he could only smell Ivan's scent from how close they are pressed together. Soon enough, both of their breathing has steady as they slowly drift into sleep, arms wrapped around each other.
good night, Ivan.
