“Mike!” Karen called out. Her voice echoed throughout the hall. “Michael!” Karen called out once again. Mike jolted up. “What time is it?!” Mike saw the clock.. Six o’clock. Mike panicked and got ready. He got dressed in a blue and white jacket, white shirt and blue jeans.
Mike grabbed his backpack and placed it on his back. “Alright I’m off!” Mike waved goodbye to his mother and ran off, getting on his bike and traversed, passing Will and Lucas' house. They stop at the Henderson labs. Where Will and Lucas were waiting for him. “It’s about time!” Lucas said. Pushing Mike gently, as a friendly rivalry. Dustin steps outside, holding his starter pokemon, Eevee. “My mother is ready for you three,” Dustin said, excitedly as they all traveled inside.
Claudia Henderson, the professor of this region after her father retired, turned around. “Welcome boys.” Claudia spoke, her assistants brought out a tray that held three pokeballs. “It’s your time to choose your starter pokemon!” Claudia added, going to grab 3 books.
“You first Wheeler,” Lucas said as he and Will pushed Mike forward. “I choose, Bulbasaur!” Mike grabbed the pokeball and threw it into the air in a flash of green light Bulbasaur fell from the sky and into Mike’s arms. Will, shy but smiling for Mike, was next. He grabbed a pokeball and threw it out and in a bright blue light, Squirtle fell into Will’s arms. “Squirt!”
“Well, my partner was chosen for me and it was the one I wanted, the one to counter Mike’s partner!” Lucas said, throwing a pokeball into the air and in an orange glow Charmander falls into Lucas’ arms. Claudia walked to the three and handed them the books. “Me and my assistants are working on documenting all the Pokemon in the Umbrawa Region. I would like to ask you four to document every pokemon you see!” Claudia said, cheerful and whimsical as always.
“I’ll gladly do it!” Mike and Will spoke as they took a book. Lucas was the last one to take a book.
“Here are ten Pokéballs!” Claudia handed each of them, including Dustin pokeballs. Lucas turned to Mike. “Wheeler, I chose you to fight!”
They go outside. Claudia went outside to watch.
“Go Bulbasaur!”
“Go Charmander!”

“Bulbasaur uses a tackle attack!” Mike shouts, waving his arm as Bulbasaur ran at Charmander and tackled Charmander!
“Charmander use, Scratch!” Lucas shouts, Charmander scratches Bulbasaur!

Turn 2
Mike tried to go first again but Lucas was faster. “Charmander use Scratch once again!” Charmander ran and scratched Bulbasaur.
Mike, stunned, looked at Bulbasaur who smirked, as if it was ready to prove itself. “Bulbasaur use Tackle attack!”
Bulbasaur ran and tackled Charmander, landing a critical hit.

Turn 3
Mike and Lucas both shout.
“TACKLE ATTACK!”
“SCRATCH!”
Bulbasaur ran at Charmander, Charmander ran at Bulbasaur. They were tied in speed… but Bulbasaur landed the hit first, tackling Charmander, Charmander was sent flying backwards causing Bulbasaur to dodge Charmander’s attack.
“Interesting, despite being speed tied, Bulbasaur seems to be giving its all to this fight…” Claudia said, analyzing the fight.

Turn 4
Charmander huffed. Its tail flame was burning bright. Bulbasaur smirked.
“Charmander, use scratch!”
Charmander scratched Bulbasaur, sending him upward.
Bulbasaur landed on his feet.
“Bulbasaur, Tackle attack!”
Bulbasaur ran as fast as it could tackling Charmander once again.
Charmander fell to the ground, fainted. “Charmander return.” Charmander is sent back to the pokeball.

Mike holds out Bulbasaur’s pokeball and Bulbasaur is sent back to the pokeball. “See ya later Wheeler, Byers!” Lucas said, running away, his voice sounding angry but excited.
Later that night, Mike waved Goodbye to Dustin and Will, as they split. Will, traversed the route to his house, but something was waiting for him. Grimmsnarl. Looking at Will. “Grimm!”
Will ran inside the house and locked the door. Chester the Houndstone growled at the door, as Grimmsnarl kicked the door down. Grimmsnarl ran at Will as Will ran out of the house through the back door, running into the shed. Hiding as Gengar appeared behind him. “Gengar!!!” Grabbing Will and abducting him.
The next day, Mike and Bulbasaur left Ninebark, the residential town a route away from Hawkins, the home to the fourth gym. The Fire Gym. On Route 1, Mike and Bulbasaur encountered many pokemon that he caught and wrote down dex entries.
Rattata, Pidgey, Spearow, Mankey. All the pokemon he caught. He got to the Byer household and knocked on the door. That's when the champion of the Umbrawa league, Joyce Byers opened the door. “Mike? Where’s Will?” Joyce asked. “That’s what I came here for? We’re supposed to set out on our journey today?” Mike reminded the champion.
“Huh… Maybe he just went into Hawkins?” Joyce said, and Mike nodded, agreeing with this theory as he waved goodbye to Joyce he left, going back onto Route 1 and entering Hawkins.
At the pokecenter, Mike put the pokemon he caught into the PC(Pokemon Computer Storage).
After waiting, Dustin finally arrived, sitting down next to Mike. “No Will?” Dustin asked, remembering that the three of them agreed to go on a journey together. “No… I’m worried about him..” Mike mumbled, his thoughts racing about all the possibilities.
“Maybe, Will went on his own journey?” Dustin said, trying to put Mike at ease. “M-Maybe…” Mike said, slightly calming down but deep down. He knows Will wouldn’t abandon them.
After buying supplies at the Pokemart within the Pokecenter him and Dustin went off. On their journey to become the very best.
Mike wants to become the champion of the Umbrawa League, meanwhile Dustin wants to follow his mothers footsteps and become a Pokemon Professor!
Onto Route 2. Mike noticed an electric mouse, Pikachu. Mike threw out Bulbasaur. Pikachu got in a fighting stance. “Bulbasaur Vine Whip!” Mike shouts as Bulbasaur did just that using Vine Whip to attack Pikachu. “Pika!” Pikachu jumped up and used a thunder shock on Bulbasaur.
Mike threw a Pokeball at Pikachu.
One shake…
Two shakes…
Three Shake…
Ding!
Pikachu was caught. Mike picked up the pokeball and wrote down a dex entry…
His pokeball glowed yellow and Pikachu popped out. “Pi!” Pikachu wagged its tail.
Mike grabbed Pikachu’s pokeball and tried sending Pikachu back to the pokeball. Pikachu dodged the laser before using a thundershock on Mike. Mike laid on the ground. Twitching. “Mike!” Dustin shouts, running over. Mike is sat up and he begins laughing. Bulbasaur and Pikachu tilt their heads as he wipes a tear. “Welcome to the team, Pikachu!”
Meanwhile in the Upside Down, home to some ghost type pokemon. Will is shaking, cuddling Squirtle. Will heard a spooky noise. A Wild Gengar appeared. Will and Squirtle crawled back into Fort Byers. Gengar reached into its bag and gave Will Oran Berries. Will and Squirtle ate the berries, as Gengar dug into Will’s backpack. Pulling out an empty pokeball and handing it to Will.
“Y-You want to come with me?”
“Gar!” Gengar said as Will threw a pokeball and caught Gengar into the Pokeball. “I’ll call you Ghostie…” Will said, as he tossed the pokeball and Ghostie the Gengar popped out, and sat down next to Will and Squirtle, keeping them company as they shared the oran berry haul with Ghostie…
