"You've had enough princess." Satanick smirked, staring at the pouty child in front of him.

She'd been begging for sweets for nearly ten minutes, her sweet tooth was horrible like her mother's. Sylvie grumbled under her breath in frustration. She was quite young, her frustrations were merely built around not getting her way at these times.

Giving another glare to her grandfather, she turned around. Starting to walk fast, Satanick chuckled at the sight. He followed with feigned curiosity. "Now now, Sylveira. Don't go bothering your mama and papa. They have a date, remember?" Of course, Sylvie didn't answer again as she kept walking, making it all the way to her parents room, probably to beg or complain. Before she could knock, the devil lord picked her up and tapped her nose. "Nope." He declared. Walking away with the now kicking five year old. He was far too use to these shenanigans.

If Sylvie was told no by someone else she'd go to another to get her way. Oddly it mirrored her mother's childhood a little too well. But Licorice would just ignore most who told him no.. unless they were Ivlis. Spoiled truly did run in their family and it surely didn't help her father was a complete sucker.

Silhouette would give in at any whine or fake tear he saw. Perhaps that's what happens when the youngest of a family and an only child start a family together.

"Did you hear my father, Sil?" Licorice murmured looking towards the door. Confusion filled him but he tried to shake it off. Straightening his tie for the third time within ten minutes. A simple habit he'd gathered due to nerves years ago. It probably happened at least twenty times on their wedding day. He was still even teased for that after all this time. Silhouette emerged from the bathroom, a small grin plastered as always.

Licorice used to love that grin, he still did of course. However nowadays it seemed to annoy him. He couldn't help but prepare. As if the man was going to tease him for another ridiculous thing. At least it wasn't as annoying as his father. That man was another story. It was a surprise they were still living in Ne-No-Kuni. Although they'd been talking about moving to the Gray Garden.
Before he knew it, Silhouette was in front of him, blocking the mirror as he also adjusted Licorice's tie. "There. Now you don't need to keep messing with it." He teased gently. The demon only blinked. Looking down at his husband. Their height difference always amazed him, given their roles but he'd bever admit that.

"You never answered my question.." Licorice finally murmured still looking down at him. Even if Silhouette was shorter than him, it wasn't by much. "Mmmm?" That hum always sent butterflies into Licorice's stomach after all these years. He loved this man so much.. expressing it was hard at times. "Oh, it probably was. Sylvie wasn't very happy about being left behind." He sighed out a little. Looking towards the door now.

"Maybe we should have invited her." Licorice's flat expression softened more upon hearing those words. They'd changed, They'd both changed so much since their daughter was born. Licorice noticed it often, how soft Silhouette was now. He'd always been soft but it only seemed to grow. The latter had also mentioned he'd changed in good ways.

Licorice never exactly noticed that himself, he often tried to brush it off as the dissociation still lingering.

"You spoil her too much, Sil.." He grumbled. Silhouette's soft expression immediately shifted back into that teasing, evil grin as he looked away from the door. "Maybe maybe, but tonight, I'm spoiling you." The demon's eyes widened as he instinctively jolted his head away ever so slightly in surprise. Even if this was normal, Licorice seemed to get flustered at.. almost everything after all these years. Of course, Silhouette chuckled at his reaction. He'd expected it and it was perfect to see. "Let's get going now, hm?" His smirk continued as he spoke. Guiding the demon to look directly at him.

Licorice couldn't help but think of all the curses in the world that this man seemed to have more power over him than most. "You didn't even say what or where we were going." He sighed gently. Of course he wasn't one for surprises. Licorice didn't understand the appeal. Who would want to be caught off guard!? Last time he was caught off guard it changed everything in his life. Sometimes he still wondered what life would be like if it didn't happen.

"Licoo-" Ah. That familiar tone. Licorice looked back up, or at least his eyes did. "Ah.. sorry." He murmured only for a smile to he returned back. Licorice made a mental note Silhouette didn't answer his question again. "Don't worry, you're alright?" Upon seeing that usual nod Silhouette smiled back even wider with his own nod. "Cake tasting." He added with that same smirk coming back. At this point it was a default. As fun as the idea sounded, Licorice couldn't help but feel confused.

"We aren't picking out a flavor or something. What's the point?" At the question, Silhouette couldn't help but laugh. "Just ordering cakes for you to try." He teased whilst explaining. Something in him hoped Licorice would grow embarrassed but that was always wishful thinking. He grabbed the others hand and started to guide him out the bedroom door. "Come on before Sylvie jumps us." Neither batted an eye at the comment really, they both knew how their daughter was.

"Wodahs is gonna kill me.." Silhouette murmured to himself, half fond, half exasperated. The only reason some of his tone was fond was because it happened so often. He looked up, and smiled gently seeing his lover. That smile on Licorice's lips was always worth it. He'd probably gotten half the menu of just pastries and sweets. Money wasn't exactly an issue but attempting to budget surely was. Even in his thoughts of his uncle killing him, Silhouette couldn't focus on that.

That smile paid off for any scoldings he might receive when they visited the garden next. Although Sylvie usually got him out of those.. somehow. Usually they'd chalk it up as how cute she was. Licorice often said it was because of her spoiled behavior. Feigning unawareness to his own spoiled behavior, just like in this moment. He plucked a strawberry from Silhouette's own slice of cake. "Excuse you." He scolded quickly. The demon didn't even acknowledge him.

Cute or not, he was infuriating sometimes. "You're gonna get a stomach ache, sweetheart." He added, as Licorice took another bite of a pastry. He was like a glutton when it came to sugar. It was always a mystery where he'd gotten it from. Well.. if Satanick was asked the answer would come quick. Connecting Licorice's sweet tooth to Ivlis wasn't exactly a thought that crossed most people's minds. "I won't.." Licorice murmured finally, after swallowing another mouth full.

He definitely was going to but remained stubborn as usual. Taking a long sip of water immediately after. Silhouette chuckled once more at the sight and reached across the table. "Come on.. you have cream on your face." He scolded softly once more. Bringing up a napkin to the other's face and wiping away the rest. "I could have done it myself, Sil.." Licorice pouted back, definitely a little annoyed but he didn't back away. Regardless of remaining in his adult form since he'd grown up, that childish nature still shined through quite often.

Silhouette usually joined Satanick in with teasing on that, but he remained much more lighthearted than the devil lord usually did. He didn't want Licorice to hate him after all..
"Mhmm, you could have. But I don't mind." The pink blush forming at the demon's cheeks were adorable. It tended to happen so often but Silhouette could never get sick of seeing it. Even the way Licorice would cover his face with the back of his hand was even more adorable. All his quirks always made the other quite fond of him. Almost as if he'd noticed new things about him each day that made him love him even more. Even if they'd been together for years, were married and even had a daughter together.

Speaking of the little princess..

"It feels weird being here without Sylvie." Silhouette commented, looking over at an empty chair where'd they'd usually seat her. Licorice also looked over and nodded after a moment. "We used to have dates like this often.." He started, almost sounding uncomfortable. "Now everytime it's just us.. it feels odd." That was something they both agreed on. There was always a little emptiness when Sylvie wasn't with them on outings. Silhouette sighed gently, noticing the anxiety starting to radiate off his husband.

He grabbed his hand across the table, gently and tenderly brushing his thumb over Licorice's hand. "Let's pack this up.. you've had enough you glutton." He teased once more. "Let's bring home some for our princess. Even if your dad has probably spoiled her half to death already." Licorice couldn't help but roll his eyes upon being called a glutton but he nodded nonetheless. Going home and sharing sweets with Sylvie sounded more relaxing than a bakery.

Home was always more comforting, even if it was in his father's castle. As long as he was with Silhouette and Sylvie that's all that mattered. "Yeah.. I'd rather be home anyways." They both stood up and started to pack up. Picking out the perfect dessert for their little girl. Which wasn't a hard task at all.

They walked back to the castle with Silhouette's arm around Licorice's waist. Even if he was taller, the demon always fit into place perfectly. He'd done so since the beginning of even their mere friendship years ago. It was beyond them both what was ahead of them back then.. how much their lives would change all due to an apple tree.

Neither knew how much was planned for them soon enough as well.

All they needed to focus on was brining sweets home to their little princess waiting in the castle.

Even if that also lead to mental preparation at her usual chaos after spending the day with her grandfather.
