Asmodeus sensed immediately that something was different. The sky was bluer, no longer just gray, and the wind no longer blew through him, but gently around him when he was outside. The sun was finally shining again, it was getting warmer, and the days were getting longer.
Spring had finally reached the Lust Ring, and Asmodeus couldn't wait to spend more time outside again.
As much as he loved cuddling up with Fizzarolli on the couch under dozens of blankets, the beautiful weather got him tired of being stuck inside. Nothing was stopping him from coming out of hibernation, except for Fizz.
As an imp, Fizzarolli loved the warmth and was a real frostbite, freezing even at 24 degrees. Although he had noticed that it was getting warmer, when Ozzie suggested going outside, he just looked at him confused and asked, “But why”
Which Ozzie took as a ‘no’ to the question.
Admittedly, Asmodeus would love nothing more than to take a lovely spring walk with his partner, but if his partner didn't want to there was simply no use.
Disgruntled, he took a sip from his cup and thought about yesterday. In the end, he had stayed at home. Going for a walk alone didn't really appeal to him.
Fizzarolli had noticed that something was bothering Ozzie, but he didn't want to make him feel guilty, so he told him that he was stressed about the new show plans.
It was only a little lie, but he hated lying to Fizzarolli. Sighing, Asmodeus looked out the window at the seedlings slowly struggling out of the soil and stretching toward the first warm rays of sunshine.
Lucky ones, he thought, looking around his office. Now that real light was shining into the room, he noticed how dusty it had become over the winter.
He picked up his phone to write a message when a very familiar ringtone began to play.
“Hey Fizzy,” he said with a smile, “Why are you calling?”
“Come to the window!” And with that, the call was already over.
Asmodeus looked at his phone in surprise before getting up to go to the window.
“What is he up to now?” he mumbled, pressing his nose against the window to find his boyfriend.
It was very easy to spot him, as Fizzarolli was standing almost directly below his window, grinning cheekily and calling out to him. Laughing, Asmodeus opened the window. “What are you doing, you maniac?
“Come down and find out,” Fizzarolli called up to him with a grin. Asmodeus didn't need to be told twice and teleported outside, where Fizzarolli was already waiting for him, beaming with joy.
“Ready, Ozzie?” he asked immediately, offering Asmodeus his arm to link arms.
"Ready for what?” asked Asmodeus, looking closely at Fizzarolli. He had wrapped a thin scarf around his neck and was wearing a light jacket.
“For our walk, of course,” said Fizzarolli matter-of-factly. “The weather is nice, and you wanted to go out. If not now, then when?”
“But aren't you cold?” asked Asmodeus, concerned, having noticed Fizzarolli's slight shivering.
“Nonsense,” Fizzarolli immediately waved him off and pulled his jacket tighter around himself, “As you can see, I'm prepared.” He looked at him with a grin, “I wanted to get you out the fresh air. You're withering away like a little plant in your dusty office. Let's enjoy the sun and the warm weather a little.”
Asmodeus wanted to argue, but Fizzarolli gave him a sharp look. “I'm not made of sugar. Besides, you can warm me up later,” he added with a wink, making Asmodeus laugh out loud.
“Well,” he shrank to his smaller form and linked arms with Fizzarolli. “Let's go then.”
