Ranpo knew today was gonna alright, since today he was meeting with his “rival” Poe.
He always liked to see him because he was one of the only people who could surprise him with his mystery novels.
Today Ranpo was visiting Poe's house to read his mystery novel.
He stood outside Poe's house for what felt like hours, although Ranpo knocked multiple times Poe didn't answer.
‘Maybe he's asleep’ Ranpo thought.
He reached to open the door, to his shock, it was unlocked, which made him a little nervous.
As soon as Ranpo stepped into the house,Karl , Poe's pet raccoon, squeaked and pawed at Ranpo’s feet.
“What's the matter Karl?”
Ranpo asked, while petting the scared animal.
Karl’s worried state only added to Ranpo's ever growing anxiety.
Ranpo called out for Poe, but got no answer.
He quickly climbed up the steps and rushed over to Poe's room.
Ranpo pauses for a second.
Ranpo gently opens the door…
There hung Poe's lifeless body.
Before Ranpo's brain could process the sight in front of him, his eyes welled up with tears and he fell to the floor.
After a few minutes of painful silence, Ranpo couldn't stop himself from weeping audibly.
‘w-why… why would you do something like this?’ he thought as stared at the body, as the legs of his rival,no, his friend, Edgar Allen Poe, dangled limply.

could do was cry
