Work Text:

It was hard to think sometimes. The sword in his hand didn’t glow like it did in the memories he recovered from Zelda. He had never heard the sword speak. The Great Deku Tree was unconcerned with this information, but it bothered Wild slightly. He pushed it to the side for now, he had a job to finish.

It wasn’t easy getting up to the mechanical dragon, but luckily it seemed to generate an updraft like Vah Medoh. He had tried once before but it had pushed him away. He could hear a faint voice say to free the others and bring the master sword.

The dragon was shaped differently than the others and was crawling with malice. Wild hovered as close as he could without being hit by what seemed to be malice birds and methodically took out what he could from the outside.

Its head pulses blue and Wild landed right atop it.

“Are you prepared to free this Lost Beast and the Champion inside? Will you board Vah Levfia?”

The beast opened to a large central room with a Goddess statue in the middle. Malice clung to almost every part of it, the vines leading into the other areas of the room. Behind it a large stained glass window. It seemed to depict the master sword in the middle with two distinct halves. The right was covered in reds and had a white and black figure profile upside down. The other half seemed to be blue but some malice from the statue had branched off and covered it. With a clear goal in mind he made his way to each room.

One room resembled a green field and had a building kinda similar to the hylian villages Wild had come across. Humanoid malice creatures fiercely guarded a smaller Goddess statue that held the eye of malice in its hands.

Another room resembled that of a forest, tall trees and greenery. Some enemies sprouted from the ground resembling plants. He quickly found the source of malice and destroyed it

The third room reminded him of Death Mountain. How there was free flowing lava in the beast was beyond him. Creatures similar to lizafos tried to stop him from destroying the malice core.

The final room was filled with sand, small malice creatures jumping out from the ground to attack Wild. Keeping his ground he managed to fend them off and uncover the malice source.

Wild noticed that each room seemed to have a statue of some kind of bird.

Back in the main room he noticed that the stained glass was uncovered.

The blue side had the side profile of a blue woman with short hair and what seemed to be a gemstone on her forehead and chest. Compared to the figure on the other side, she was sitting upright, eyes towards the sword.

The Goddess statue had been mostly cleared, but a small bit of malice still clung to its chest, right above where its hands made a platform. Climbing up, Wild withdrew his sword to strike it.

As it dissipated, the roof of the room opened up, revealing a stormy sky and rain falling in. Wild stood confused for a moment before he saw malice gather around him.

Leaping to the ground he saw the Blight take form.

It seemed about his height from the floor but malice clung to its body and cape, elongating it. Its face was mostly covered except its eyes that seemed electric blue in contrast to all the black and red. It summoned a sword that had a black and white diamond pattern and held it up to the sky.

Wild jumped back a bit as lightning struck its sword and it let out an inhuman screech.

CloudBlight.

It leaped down from its perch and sent out a beam of lightning from its sword. Wild barely managed to dodge and bring up his shield for its second attack. The master sword pulsed in his hand, glowing bright.

The rain made it difficult to maneuver and every once in a while CloudBlight would summon lightning to charge up its sword. It fought like it was classically trained, spinning in wide circles to try and catch Wild dodging to the side.

After what felt like ages, Wild managed to land the final strike.

It screamed, dissipating into nothingness, taking the storm clouds with it.

Wild found himself standing in the clouds, a large expanse of white and blue around him.

A man was playing the harp, his hair a golden brown. He wore simple clothes and a short cape. When he finished his song, he turned and gave his full attention to Wild.

“I knew you could do it.” He said it with such a soft smile and gentle voice.

“My name is Link, but you may know me better as the Champion and Hero of the Skys.”

The Master Sword on Wild’s back pulsed again, and Sky’s smile widened.

“It is good to see you too, my friend.”

The man wove a story of a town in the sky, bird companions, and world unknown beneath the clouds. He spoke of his best friend and their shared destinies, their parallel paths. Of a whole world being discovered and explored as he sought out what he needed to be reunited with his best friend. Of enemies and friends he made along the way, of monsters and dragons he encountered. A place of time past and the start of a cycle.

“I never meant to start it, but I didn’t know what else to do.”

Wild stayed silent. He didn’t like that all of them had to face Gannon, or a form of him, but he couldn’t blame the man in front of him. After all, Wild most likely would have done the same.

The man in front of him smiled again, extending a hand, “I want you to have my blessing. It will enhance the Master Sword even further. I know you will succeed.”

Wild took his hand and felt the blessing flow through him. The man then pulled him into a hug, wrapping his arms around Wild’s back, “I’m sorry.”

Wild blinked to find himself back in the main chamber of Vah Levfia, the sun shining through the open roof.

He managed to save all of the Lost Beasts. All the other champions believed in him and lent him their strength.

Taking a deep breath, Wild prepared himself to finish his main quest.

Notes:

Vah Lavfia is a mix of both purposed names I saw, Leviathan and Fi. I didn't want it to be named just Fy, but wanted to include one of my favorite companions. I pronounce it just as "Levia" since the f and v sounds are similar in this case.
Any other questions I'll gladly answer!

It’s finished. After 5 years and many, many doubts, I have finally come back to finish off this series. I fell out of the Linked Universe fandom a while back (Only really reading the main comics when they were posted), but this was my first passion project and I wanted to complete it. Thank you everyone who stuck around and anyone who read it years after posting. Everyone’s encouragement meant the world to me.
Skyward Sword is also a very special game to me, being the first one I played all on my own, so this one was special to me.
I do not know if I will ever write from LU again, my brain likes to hopscotch with fandoms, but I hope you all had fun with what I did write.
Thank you for joining me!
