Chapter Text

Bangchan erased his notebook paper for what seemed to be the 1000th time today. By this point, the pencil eraser should already be gone and dust, by how aggressively and how often he was erasing the paper. But it stayed erasering, somehow. He huffed in frustration again, as he flipped the pencil to the graphite side. “Why aren’t these verses working..!” He thought in agony, slamming the pencil down on the table. Actually, he may have said it aloud, judging by the quiet yelp he hears from across his room and the door closing. He turns around in his chair and stands up to open the door. It’s a quick walk, the room is not that big but not that cramped that he can barely breathe. Though he wishes sometimes he could move to a bigger room, he was content with what he currently has. He opened the door to I.N about to knock again, his arm up in the stance. “Hi I.N, do you need something?” Bangchan asked, looking at the younger with a smile. “Sorry hyung, I knocked multiple times, but you weren’t answering. I thought you were asleep until I heard you groaning.” Bangchan sighed, rubbing his back. “It’s… it’s ok, I was writing lyrics and I was too focused to hear anything, but it’s not like the lyrics were…going good anyway.” He paused for a moment, itching his head in thought. “Um…What did you need again?” “Oh, I ordered some dinner for us, it’s on the table if you want to eat.” Bangchan blinked and scoffed.

“Wait, wha-what time is it?”

“8pm. You’ve been in there for almost all day.”

Bangchan froze. He’s been in his room, isolated for…how many hours? 8? 10? Doing nothing but erasing and writing ass lyrics in place of the erased words.

He groans, putting his hands to his face and scratching his hair, sliding against the doorframe until he’s crouching.

Pathietic.

“Sorry Hyung…you ok..?” I.N rubs a hand on his back.

Bangchan pauses scratching his hair and looks up.

“And you paid…?”

“Well, yeah.”

Bangchan putting his hands back on face. “Argh…I’m so sorry…I’ll pay you back. How much was it..?”

“Like, 15,000 won. It’s nothing Hyung. Just eat, I haven’t seen you outside your room in forever.”

Bangchan reluctantly stands back up, ignoring I.N's outreached hand. “Ok…fine. Can’t let good food go to waste. I need a break from writing anyway.” He follows I.N to the dining table, where 2 bowls of bibimbap lay. “I.N, you're the best…” Bangchan sighs and sits down. I.N smirks and sits down across from Bangchan.

“Why did you order this time?” Bangchan asked, mixing the food with his chopsticks.

“Too tired to cook.”

“Mm.” Bangchan humed, eating the food. It was so good, even though it was a simple meal. Maybe food tasted better when you haven't had it in a while.

They talked about random things; schedules, video games, members, things Stay have asked them on Fans and if they should wake early to workout before the day begins.

Bangchan almost forgot about the song he was working on.

Almost.

“How’s your song coming along?” I.N asks as he scraps the last bits off his bowl.

“Huh? Oh.” Bangchan sets his spoon down. “Not…well so far?” He says that with a questioning tone, even though it’s a fact that it’s not going well at all.

“I haven’t seen you freak out about lyrics before in a while, Hyung.”

“I haven’t freaked out lyrics in a while, you're right.” He pauses, but then just gives up and scraps the bowl.

“If you ever need help, me and the other members are here.”

“It’s ok, really. I just need sleep.”

They finish eating and clean up, talk some more and then decide that it's time to hit the hay.

“Goodnight, Innie!”

“Goodnight, Channie-hyung….”

Bangchan sleeps peacefully.
