"I suppose so."
That's what Arthur had said when the King in Yellow said he loved him. And he did. Arthur did love John. That brief moment in the cabin, alone, blind, stuck in a place he didn’t know, he was reminded just how alone he was, how alone he had been. But that wasn't really true, but it felt like it.
His time with Yellow was difficult, to say the least. Yellow was everything John was not, almost what John had been. The arguments, the constant struggle to find common ground, the struggle to be able to work together. Arthur had to do it all over again.
But Yellow was nothing like John. John was, well, John was him. John had learned so much and grown so much. It's a little hard to think back at how he used to be. So yes, Arthur did love John. And he trusted John.
This friendship of theirs was like no other. And even though right now, Arthur and John are stuck in a cave, Arthur wouldn't have it any other way. Not without John. He asked Kayne for John back. Now Arthur was not going to let him go.
