Jihoon never thought it would come to this.
How did everything go so wrong?
Junkyu and Jihoon were supposed to stay best friends forever.
They had promised it when they were kids, pinkies linked under summer rain, laughing so hard that the world seemed small enough to hold them both.
But now everything was different.
And it was his fault.
Because of his own selfish heart, he was about to lose the most important person in his life.
Junkyu.
The boy who had been by his side since before they even knew the meaning of friendship.
No.
He couldn't let this happen.
Not like this.
Not while he still had the chance to fix it.
Even if it hurt.
Even if it meant pretending... pretending that his feelings didn't exist.
He couldn't let Junkyu slip away.
Couldn't let anyone else take his place.
Jihoon's chest tightened at the thought, a quiet, gnawing ache that refused to go away.
He would fight.
He would endure.
Even if it meant keeping his heart buried so deep that he could barely breathe.
Because some truths... some truths were too dangerous to speak aloud.
And some promises... some promises had to be kept, even if it destroyed you from the inside.
Jihoon would do whatever it took to protect what they had.
Even if it meant losing himself along the way.
