3rd Person POV
Peace was supposed to be a good thing.
For most people, peace was the ultimate goal. Kingdoms waged wars to achieve it. Heroes sacrificed their lives to protect it. Entire civilizations rose and fell chasing it.
And yet, when peace lasted too long...
It became unbearable.
The Jura Tempest Federation had reached a level of prosperity few nations in history could rival. The once-dangerous forest had transformed into the beating heart of trade, magical research, and international diplomacy.
Wide stone roads connected cities across the continent. Magitrains hummed along elevated tracks, carrying merchants and travelers at speeds that once seemed impossible.
Children's laughter bounced between streets adorned with colorful festival banners. Steam rose from food stalls, mingling with the crisp morning air, while merchants called out in booming voices. Travelers gestured animatedly, recounting tales of distant lands as they navigated the bustling cobblestones.
Scholars of every race exchanged knowledge at Tempest's academies. Humans, dwarves, elves, beastmen, and monsters lived side by side in harmony. Trade thrived. Diplomacy held. Conflicts were settled with negotiation, not war. After all, no nation dared challenge the ruler of Tempest.
Inside the towering administrative palace at the capital's center, the being responsible for that peace stood silently near a window.
Rimuru Tempest gazed down at the city. Everything he had built, everything he had fought for, everything he had sacrificed to protect—lay before him.
And yet—
Rimuru sighed.
"I'm bored."
The quiet office echoed faintly. A familiar presence stirred within his mind.
[Analyzing statement.]
Rimuru twitched one eye.
[[Ciel... I feel like that didn't require analysis.]]
[Conclusion: Master is experiencing extreme boredom.]
[[...You don't say.]]
[Additional conclusion: Master has likely reached the limit of peaceful administrative duties.]
Rimuru rubbed the back of his neck.
[[You know, when you phrase it like that, it sounds depressing.]]
[I am merely stating observable facts.]
He leaned against the window, staring at the city below. Life had become painfully predictable.
Meetings.
Treaties.
Festivals.
Repeat.
Another banquet. Another speech about cooperation. Another festival celebrating Tempest's prosperity. Even a god could only attend so many events before losing interest entirely.
Twenty thousand years. That was how long it had been since the last world-shaking conflict.
During that time, Tempest had grown beyond Rimuru's imagination. Everything worked. Perfectly. Too perfectly.
Rimuru's eyes narrowed.
[[You know what would be interesting?]]
Ciel responded instantly, her voice calm but precise.
[Historical data indicates that statement usually precedes chaos.]
Rimuru grinned, the corners of his mouth tilting mischievously.
[[Going on an adventure.]]
A brief pause.
[Master.]
[[Yes?]]
[You are an omnipotent and omniscient existence.]
[[Correct.]]
[There are very few experiences capable of providing you genuine excitement.]
Rimuru crossed his arms, tapping his chin thoughtfully.
[[Exactly.]]
[[Which is why I'm thinking of reincarnating in another world.]]
Silence followed, longer this time
[Please clarify your proposal.]
[[Simple. I seal most of my powers and start over somewhere in the multiverse.]]
Another pause.
[Master.]
[[Hmm?]]
[Even with ninety percent of your abilities sealed, your existence would likely destabilize most lower worlds.]
Rimuru blinked, raising an eyebrow.
[[That seems like an over-exaggeration.]]
[You are a conceptual lifeform capable of rewriting reality.]
Rimuru rubbed his temple.
[[...Okay, that's fair.]]
He tapped his chin thoughtfully, then his eyes sparkled.
[[Alright. New plan.]]
[Listening.]
[[I'll seal everything.]]
The pause stretched.
[Clarification requested.]
[[All of my powers.]]
[[No divine aura.]]
[[No reality manipulation.]]
[[Just a normal human life.]]
He allowed himself a faint, satisfied smile.
[[Well... almost normal.]]
[[You'll still be with me, partner.]]
Ciel ran several silent calculations.
[Analysis complete.]
[[And?]]
[That configuration would not destabilize the target world.]
Rimuru's grin widened.
[[See? I knew you'd figure it out.]]
[However...]
Rimuru sighed dramatically.
[[There's always a "however" with you.]]
[If you retain your memories immediately after birth, your consciousness may interfere with the development of the human brain.]
[[Ah.]]
[[Yeah... that might be a problem.]]
[Proposed solution: memory restoration at age five.]
[[Why five?]]
[Approximately ninety percent of brain development occurs before that age.]
Rimuru nodded slowly, leaning back against the window.
[[Makes sense.]]
[Master.]
[[Hmm?]]
[You stated you wished to experience an adventure.]
[[That's right.]]
[Then why specifically a human life?]
Rimuru paused, fingers drumming lightly against the window frame.
[[Because it's more interesting.]]
Ciel remained silent.
[[Think about it, partner.]]
[[Starting from nothing.]]
[[No overwhelming power.]]
[[No reputation.]]
[[Just a normal life where I have to improve step by step.]]
He glanced down at the streets below.
[[In this world, I started weak... but I also started with abilities that made growth easy. This time, I want to see what happens without shortcuts.]]
His smile broadened.
[[That sounds like a much more interesting adventure.]]
[Master has reached a surprisingly reasonable conclusion.]
[[What do you mean by "surprisingly," partner?]]
[I said you are correct, Master.]
[[No, I definitely heard the "surprisingly" part.]]
[It's just your imagination.]
Rimuru sighed, stretching lazily.
[[Alright partner. You choose the world.]]
[[But don't tell me anything about it.]]
[[I want the experience to be genuine.]]
A short pause.
[Acknowledged. Suitable world located]
[I will make some adjustments to ensure the target world provides optimal conditions for Master's growth, excitement, and safety.]
Rimuru grinned.
[[I knew I could count on you.]]
[[Just make sure it's interesting.]]
[That has already been taken into consideration.]
Rimuru pushed himself away from the window.
[[Guess I should warn everyone before I disappear.]]
[A wise decision.]
[[Because they'll panic?]]
[Because Lady Shion will likely destroy several buildings.]
Rimuru winced.
[[...Yeah, that sounds about right.]]
**2 Hours Later**
What Rimuru had hoped would be a simple discussion turned into a full-scale debate. Shion insisted on accompanying him. Milim loudly declared she would drag him back personally if he disappeared too long. Benimaru immediately began organizing contingency plans. Veldora enthusiastically volunteered to reincarnate with him. And worst of all, Ciel refused to provide a solution to settle everyone down, quietly enjoying the chaos as her calculations nudged events toward maximum enjoyment for Rimuru.
Eventually—after long, exhausting negotiations—Rimuru managed to calm everyone down. Tempest would continue functioning under the supervision of his most trusted subordinates. Most importantly... no one would interfere unless the world itself was in danger.
Finally free from the discussion, Rimuru returned to his room and collapsed onto the bed.
[[That was exhausting.]]
[Preparations are complete.]
Rimuru immediately sat up.
[[Already?]]
[Yes.]
[[Do I need to do anything?]]
[Negative.]
Ciel continued calmly.
[Your powers will be sealed and your soul transferred to another world.]
[You will be born normally as a human.]
[Your memories will return on the night of your fifth birthday.]
Rimuru nodded.
[[Alright.]]
He lay back, staring at the ceiling. For the first time in thousands of years... he felt genuine excitement.
[[Well then... let's do it.]]
[Beginning reincarnation process.]
[[See you in five years, partner.]]
[Understood, Master.]
Rimuru closed his eyes. His body slowly entered hibernation as his soul separated from it. The ruler of Tempest would remain asleep within his palace, but his soul had already begun its journey.
**Earth (Japan)**
Rain fell softly against the hospital windows. Inside the maternity ward, fluorescent lights hummed quietly while nurses moved through the halls with practiced efficiency.
On one bed lay Sumire Nagumo, exhausted after the long delivery. Strands of damp hair clung to her forehead, but a soft smile rested on her lips. Beside her stood Shu Nagumo, equally drained.
The doctor approached, smiling reassuringly.
"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Nagumo."
A nurse gently placed two small bundles into Sumire's arms.
"Both babies are perfectly healthy."
Sumire looked down at the tiny faces.
"They're... both alright?"
The doctor nodded.
Shu let out a long sigh. "They're perfect."
The doctor glanced at the chart. "Have you decided on their names?"
Shu exchanged a glance with Sumire before nodding.
"This one will be Rimuru Nagumo." He pointed to the firstborn. "And his younger brother will be Hajime Nagumo."
**Somewhere within a sleeping soul**
Deep in the sealed depths of dormant consciousness, a calm and familiar voice completed its final task.
[Multiversal transfer complete.]
[Host successfully reincarnated.]
Countless calculations finished silently: soul stability. Dimensional alignment. Power seal integrity. Everything proceeded exactly as planned.
[Memory restoration scheduled for age five.]
Observation mode remained active. But for now, there was nothing more to do. Only one instruction remained: wait.
Five years would pass quickly for a being who had already lived for eons. And when the time came... the adventure would finally begin—and nothing, not even a god, could predict what would unfold.
