Morning at Shinazugawa residence is always loud, it is because of Giichi Shinazugawa, the little 4-year-old child of Alpha Sanemi and Omega Giyuu. The child was, quite frankly, the living image of his mother Giyuu. He has raven-black, unruly, and of uneven lengths, stickin up and choppy bangs, pale as snow skin, downward-sloping eyebrows, and long thick lashes, almond-shaped sleepy eyes but his eye color is from his father Sanemi with pale purple irises.
In the kitchen, Sanemi is standing in front of the stove with a frying pan in one hand and chopsticks in the other, he always cooks breakfast for his family because his husband Giyuu is usually exhausted from their physical activities at night. "Damn Giyuu is draining me every night."
In two days, Giyuu’s heat would start.
Which meant the house was already starting to feel tense in that quiet, instinctive way that came with their biology. Which is also one of the reasons why Giichi will stay with Sanemi's family house where his Mama Shizu and his younger siblings are living. Sanemi had already prepared Giichi's things. His clothes, toys, and coloring books. This afternoon, he is planning to go to the pack headquarters and drop Giichi there since Sanemi's family is living there before attending the meeting. As one of the pack's high-ranking members under the Ubuyashiki pack, Sanemi has a role to protect their pack omegas and pups. His Omega Giyuu is also part of the high rank, so both of them will be busy this afternoon and evening.
The television across the kitchen was playing quietly in the background. A news anchor spoke with a serious tone. "Tonight marks the arrival of the first Blood Moon this year. Astronomers confirm the rare phenomenon will last several hours…" Sanemi listened intently as this is the night when their wolves will be on high alert, instinct grew stronger than logic, and also the night when vampires are strong. For a very long time, wolves and vampires have been fighting... Their strongest enemy is the King of Vampire Muzan who is also a distant relative of Ubuyashiki. They needed to be careful, there is no school for a week because of the moon phenomenon but the Ubuyashiki pack where Sanemi and his family belong is having a meeting to be ready for the blood moon tonight.
Sanemi rubbed the back of his neck. His mind drifted as he thought about the meeting, about the patrols, about the safety of the pack, especially his family.... He is so distracted that he didn’t notice the small set of feet sprinting down the hallway.
Giichi in his Winnie the Pooh pyjamas, is running towards his daddy. "Daddiiiiiii......" Giichi ran until he collapsed in his father's legs. "Whoa! Well damn, kid. You tryin’ to tackle me?” Sanemi laughs and without second thoughts, he took Giichi and carried him as Giichi giggled and buried his face in Sanemi’s shoulder. "Where is your mommy?" Sanemi asked and as if summoned, Giyuu slowly descended from the stairs. "Good morning" Giyuu murmured as he kissed Giichi's and Sanemi's cheeks. Giichi beamed “Mommy!” Giichi did the same to both his parents as he always followed his mommy's actions. "My sweet little Giichi, always following Mommy's actions." Giyuu pinched Giichi's cheeks.
"Dadi beakfast?" Giichi asked and Sanemi chuckled "Of course it's food first before greeting your mommy and daddy properly." Giichi hides his face and kicks his feet as he throws little tantrums. Sanemi noticed it "It's your favorite, Omelette and Ohagi." The child clapped happily and leaned forward to kiss Sanemi again. "Giichi, it's breakfast not beakfast." Giyuu tried to correct his son however Sanemi is always spoiling Giichi "He will know soon, he is four not fourteen." Sanemi reasoned out as he slowly put Giichi in a kid's chair and prepared breakfast.
After their breakfast, they prepared to leave for today, they will be in Ubuyashiki's estate until tomorrow morning to ensure that the blood moon and the vampires will not harm their packmates while Giichi will stay with his grandmother, aunties, and uncle's side in the same estate just a little far from where Giyuu and Sanemi will be stationed.
"The meeting will be at 3PM, Shinobu says do not be late as she needs to prepare the butterfly estate for tonight with Kanae," Giyuu informed his alpha as Sanemi made sure that Giichi had a secured seatbelt in the backseat.
The drive is slow, Ubuyashiki estate is an hour drive from their home which means Giichi will be bored and throw his temper tantrums and Giyuu has to discipline the child while Sanemi has to focus on the road. Giichi keeps on kicking Sanemi's seat. "Oi brat, stop kicking my seat. I'm driving." Sanemi groaned and slightly looked at Giyuu for help. "Giichi...." Giyuu turned his head slightly. Instantly Giichi froze.... "Sit properly Giichi or no Ohagi later." Giichi pouted but followed his mommy.
At the Ubuyashiki estate, they were greeted by Sabito, Giyuu's best friend and Giichi's favorite uncle. "Hey Giichi! How's my beloved nephew? Still cute huh?" Sabito carried Giichi "Uncle Sabby! I'm not cute anymore... I am pwitty. Giichi is pwitty!" Sabito laughed and ruffled Giichi's hair while Sanemi and Giyuu took their things from the car. "You heard your son?" Giyuu asked Sanemi and Sanemi raised his eyebrow "He said a lot of things." Giyuu’s voice remained neutral. "Your son says he is pretty..." Giyuu continues "Pretty sure he will be an omega when his presentation comes after six years." Sanemi shrugged "So?" To be honest Sanemi doesn't care if his Giichi will be Alpha, Beta, or Omega... No matter what the secondary gender is, he will protect his son and his mate no matter what. "He calls himself pretty, and he looks like you so indirectly Giichi is also saying that you're pretty." Giyuu pretended not to hear Sanemi as they went inside Sanemi's family's house. Sabito snorted loudly behind them "ARE YOU BOTH DONE FLIRTING? Giichi my baby, request to mommy and daddy for baby sibling." Giichi giggled happily between them. Giyuu glared at Sabito while Sanemi was smirking at Giyuu."
The meeting starts at three pm, and the meeting hall of the Ubuyashiki Estate was quiet and solemn. Ubuyashiki Kagaya their Alpha Head together with his omega Amane and the eleven high-ranking wolves. Their sitting arrangement is from the strongest. Closest to Kagaya sat Gyomei, the most powerful alpha among them. At Gyomei's back is Sanemi an Alpha, beside Sanemi is Giyuu his mate and omega, Obanai, and Mitsuri both Alphas seated together as they are newly mated to Sanemi and Giyuu. On the back of Obanai and Mitsuri are Muichiro the Omega prodigy and Alpha Sabito. Behind Muichiro and Sabito are Alpha Tengen, and Alpha Kyojuro, and in the last row the omega sisters Kanae and Shinobu. Yuichiro, Muichiro's twin is not here as he is currently in heat and staying with their mother Tsutako.
The Alpha head Kagaya starts speaking "My beloved pack. Tonight is the blood moon. The moon will test our instincts.” The air felt heavier but Giyuu's mind tried to focus but he couldn't erase the uneasy feeling he had. Alpha head Kagaya assigned them to different stations except for Kanae and Shinobu who need to focus on the butterfly estate. Giyuu, Kyojuro, Mitsuri, and Muichiro stationed themselves near the Butterfly estate in case there is an attack. Their focus is on keeping the injured, omegas, and pups packmates safe. Tengen in South, Sanemi in North, Obanai in East, and Sabito is West while Gyomei is guarding the Alpha head and his family. That's where they all stationed. "The blood moon will show no mercy, It will test your mentality and morals. Logic over Instinct that is what we need. A strong mind and will." Kagaya says as he looks at the eleven most trusted packmates. "We will protect the next generation, and no Vampires shall come to us. We will kill them."
The night follows, the tension thickens. The teenage pack members Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Senjuro, Inosuke, Nezuko and Genya are assigned to rotate in different pack houses while Kanao, Aoi, Murata, Makomo and the other butterfly estate staff remain in the butterfly estate to help Kanae and Shinobu.
The blood moon starts at 8:29 PM.... Slowly, the moon is turning red... Giichi stayed at his grandma Shizu's side together with his Auntie Tsutako and his mate. Yuichiro, the twin of Muichiro and his cousin are also staying in the house because Yuichiro is in heat and cannot help patrolling with his twin brother.
The howling can be heard outside... It's too feral, Kagaya the alpha head ordered to evacuates the omegas who lost their instinct and are suddenly in heat."Evacuate the unstable omegas.” He ordered Giyuu and Muichiro to lock the omegas in the basement while Kyojuro and Mitsuri were tasked to fight the Alpha packmates who suddenly became feral but they would not kill them. "Restrain them but do not kill them.”
Outside is in rage, while the Shinazugawa family house is calm. Yuichiro is standing by his mother Tsutako's side. The other siblings of Genya and Sanemi are on alert, they do not want to lost to their instinct because they promise to their big brother Sanemi that they would guard the house and protect Giichi and the others. Giichi remained on Shizu's side. "Grandma Shizu, I brush teeth. Mommy says brush teeth before bed." Giichi says and doesn't wait for Shizu's approval. He goes to the bathroom on the second floor, no one notice the open window.... While brushing his teeth suddenly Giichi felt a terrified and before he could look back.... The vampire covered his mouth, took him and jump through the open window. Giichi is terrified, he thinks of his mommy.... His daddy.... His cousins, uncles, and aunties.... Giichi felt they were running towards the forest near river. Giichi struggled desperately. His small legs kicked wildly. He felt powerless.... "DADDDIIIIIIIII......." With his last strength, he shouted for his daddy Sanemi... Hoping that his daddy heard him.
Far away in the northern forest… Sanemi froze when he heard his Giichi.... His son's cry for help.... Sanemi’s eyes widened with pure terror.... without second thought he transformed into his wolf form and ran towards where he heard Giichi. Obanai followed with Tengen, the two also heard Giichi. On their back, Yuichiro is also running even though he is in heat. "Uncle Sanemi, a vampire took Giichi!" Sanemi’s heart dropped into his stomach but Sanemi didn't stop... he didn't look at Yuichiro but he ask Yuichiro to "Go to Giyuu, tell him what happened. Tell Giyuu that Giichi needs him now." Yuichiro turned and ran back toward the estate as fast as his trembling body allowed. Sanemi is in hurry, praying he is not too late... His son needed him... Giichi needed him.... "Hold on my little brat... Daddy's coming."
Sanemi spotted the vampire, a small body slung over his shoulder is a struggling Giichi. Sanemi’s rage exploded "YOU BASTARD!" Sanemi launched an attack and Sanemi recognized it.... The vampire is one of Muzan's general... Rui smirked as he saw Sanemi charging toward him still far from him, he tries to bite Giichi but he felt the Alpha's terrifying aura similar to one of the strongest vampire generals. Sanemi running towards them in high speed, Rui panicked, instead of biting, he throw Giichi straight into the center of the river and he bolted to save himself. "AFTER HIM!" Tengen shouted as both Alphas Tengen and Obanai chased the vampire into the deep forest while Sanemi dive into the river to look for Giichi. Sanemi desperately look for his little Giichi while he fought the coldness of the river.
Under the water, Giichi struggle, he felt suffocated, he couldn't breathe... He doesn't know how to swim.... His tiny arms and legs are tired of kicking and his body is slowly sinking.... At the bottom, he saw the red blood full moon.... So bright... It's already at peak. "I love you mommy... I love you Daddy..." That's his thoughts before sinking into the abyss.
