Chapter 1 daphnes pov
Daphne knew what she was doing when she started her hit show ‘Ghost to Coast with Daphne Blake’s second season ' ‘Haunted America’’. She knew what she was getting herself and the gang into, yet she still did it anyways. All so that they could finally trap that 13th demon in the stupid Chest.
It all started ten years ago, on a trip that was supposed to be to Honolulu. And if it weren’t for a direction mixup, cough Scooby cough, they would have (probably) managed to avoid it all. But, of course instead of a nice and relaxing vacation while Fred and Velma were at camp, they end up in the Himalayas. And of course with their luck they end up in a town where they’re cursed to turn into werewolves, and of course she also gets turned into a werewolf, even if it was just for a night, it was one of the most horrible experiences yet.
Though it truly isn’t Shaggy and Scooby's fault that it happens. Even though they continue to beat themselves up over it, it isn’t their fault. They were tricked, by those fowl, loath-some, tricky, ghosts. And ever since that horrid night, they’ve been searching for those 13 demons. Though they have managed to find and capture 12, that stupid 13th is still out there. And I plan to find it, and seal it once and for all.
She finally had her plan,she was going to go around New Orleans, one of the most well known haunted places in America, and find that stupid demon, with Fred of course. Cause if she can’t have the entire gang together because of their busy work schedules, then she would at least have her camera man and boyfriend with her to keep her sane in this venture.
It was finally time for her and Fred to start their journey to New Orleans, Louisiana. And just as she was about to hop in while Fred puts her things in the back of the van for her when he asks
“You got everything Daph?” Fred asks
“Uh huh.” she replies sure she isn’t forgetting anything
“You remembered the maps?” He asks making sure she has them
“Yep.” She replies remembering packing them in her backpack.
“Are you sure you’re not forgetting anything daph?” Fred asks with a cheeky grin
“Of course I’m sure Fred” she responds exasperated by her boyfriends question
“ Well if you’re so sure then…” Fred then opens up the back of the van (oh how she misses calling it the mystery machine) and…
“SURPRISE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAPHNE!!” Bam! out jumps the rest of the gang, scaring her far more than it should (damn Zomba and her popping up everywhere when they were in that movie)
She lightly grabs her chest so she could try and catch her breath as subtly as possible to not make Velma and Fred question why she’s so scared by it. Though she knows that Shaggy and Scooby are subtly looking at her worriedly, cause they know, they always know. They grew much closer than expected because of it all, and she's happy that they did, just not the how.
“How did I manage to forget my own birthday?!” She laughs out
“Wellll you have been very busy planning this trip, the show, and everything in between.” Fred says, smiling at her surprised face.
And it’s true isn’t it, she thinks. She had been very busy planning everything for both her show and her other plans. Though she never thought that she would have forgotten her own birthday, then again her parents did most of the time, so what did she expect? Fred then disrupts her self loathing thoughts.
“Well gang lets goooo!” He shouts, obviously very excited that they’re all together again.
“But first…”
He then pulls the banner with ‘Ghost to coast’ on it off the side of the Mystery machine. Returning it to its glory of actually being called “The Mystery Machine”. The gang then hops in, excited to all finally be together again, with Fred driving for at least a bit of the way, Daphne in between him and Velma, and finally Velma sitting in the window seat just where she likes (also where she has a book under the seat for her to read when she gets bored). Shaggy and Scooby lounging in the back with all the snacks (that will probably be eaten within the hour) and the luggage. Shaggy and Daphne exchange a glance. She knows she’ll have to tell Shaggy her plans, but for now it can wait and they can just enjoy the gang being together again. And the extremely long drive from Crystal Cove, Washington, to New Orleans, Louisiana.
