Dirty Regrets

Summary:

Chloe manages to sneak some dirty magazines from a certain someone. She isn’t willing to return them unless Max and her takes a little peek at them.

Things take turn at an instant.

I wrote this at 3 a.m. It’s probably full of spelling mistakes and words that doesn’t make sense. Enjoy!

Work Text:

“Okay girls, I’m off to buy some groceries now, since you little rascals managed to cover the whole kitchen with flour and pretty much every other pancake ingredient ever…”

Chloe immediately protested, “It was Max who dropped the whole flour pack on the floor!”

“I told you Chloe…it was an accident!” Max’s eyes turned into sad puppy eyes, still feeling guilty about the whole incident.

William let out a playful sigh and shook his head in amusement, “Nevermind. Be good okay? I’ll be back less than an hour. Don’t break the house aight? Now where are my keys…” He patted his clothes searching for the sharp metallic item.

“Here you go dad!” Chloe sent the keys flying over the room to William, which he caught in the air with a sharp grasp in the air.

“Why, thank you Chloe. It seems that you really want some house wrecking time with Max?” William made a chuckling sound while he slid his jacket to his arm.

Chloe wasn’t amused at all, infact, she was slightly annoyed. This fact was clear with the little puffiness in her cheeks slowly turning pink.

“C’mon daad! Just go already!” You could hear the playfulness in her words.

“Alright, alright. I’m leaving, see you soon girls!” William shut the door behind him when the last thing the both girls saw of William was him standing on one leg and using his free arm to slide the shoe in his other leg, jumping, and almost falling down.

Max and Chloe exchanged glances with eachother for a slight moment before laughing at the same time for the same reason.

It was only 10 second after Chloe interrupted the moment, wiping a tear from her eye.

“Hey, hey Max. Wanna see something cool?” Her voice was still shaky from that fit of laughter.

Max immediately turned suspicous, because if Chloe said something like that, it was more likely to be something dangerous, reckless and stupid more than the word “cool”. And that meant trouble.

“Chloe. What did you do.”

“Nothing! I swear!” Chloe sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than Max. “Sigh…Fine. I maybe or maybe not…”

She shoved something made of many sheets of paper in Max’s face. It smelled like those fresh newspapers she saw everytime she went to the store with either her or Chloe’s parents.

Chloe continued, “sneaked some dirty magazines from that cool goth lady down the street! Ain’t that cool? Now we’ll see what’s the real deal!”

Max’s eyes shrinked as she reached out for the said magazine, desperate attempts to catch it and destroy it before they get in trouble.

“Chloe! What the hell?! Why do you even have that thing?! What if we get caught? We’ll be in soo much trouble!” She felt like there was boiling water instead of blood in her body.

“Relaax Maxy! It’s fine! I’ll give it back after we take a liiitle peek at it, okay?” She held the magazine out of Max’s reach.

“No!” Her words came out scratchy and dry with all that jumping. “You even convinced me to drink wine, which your dad is still mad about, but not this time! No! Nuh uh! Denied!”

“Not even if I take you to a veery secret place to take some photos?”

Max suddenly paused, still huffing and cheeks looking like tomatoes at the bright season of summer. “You’re lying.” She smirked.

Chloe groaned. “C’mon Max. When did I ever lie to you?”

“Technically today, when you said you were going over to the goth lady’s house to get fashion tips! But instead, you were there for this!” Max gestured to the magazine with disgust.

“Uugh, that doesn’t count! I did ask for fashion tips! Which I will save for high school! Sigh…Max! Do you really want to miss the chance of uncovering the forbidden secrets of womenhood?”

Max hesitated, was this really worth the shit they would have to go through if they did got caught? Is it finally the time to say no Chloe? What would William think of her?

She looked at Chloe, waiting for a response eagerly. Her incentive eyes still managed to reach out to Max’s heart.

Max could’ve never leave Chloe’s side.

She let out a sigh, “You promise to take me to the veery seecret place you mentioned earlier?” She mimicked Chloe.

Chloe jumped out from her place and held onto Max’s hand, leading her upstairs, to her room.

“You bet on I will Maxy! Let’s go!”

Max could only follow behind Chloe’s quick steps, already regretting everything.

“Alright, Max. Every life choice we’ve made has led us here, to this exact moment and exact place. Are you ready for the big reveal, that will probably affect us for the rest of our lives? No takebacks!”

“Uhm…n-“

“Great. I’m flipping the page on one…two…threEUUGGGHHHH!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!”

“FLIP IT BACK! FLIP IT BACK CHLOE!!”

“N-NO! WE’VE ALREADY COME THIS FAR, AND I HAD TO BEG MY ASS OFF FOR THIS SHIT!!”

“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!”

“OHMYGO-“

The next 10 minutes was full of ews, eughs, dear gods, and what in the actual fucks.

…And mental breakdowns.

The two haven’t spoken in a while, for the trauma they had recieved, that doubled up every page, still hasn’t fully absorbed into them yet.

“H-hey Chloe…?” Max said in a shaky voice.

“…Yes…Max…?” Chloe also said in a shaky voice.

Max paused for a slight moment, as if she was unsure on how to put her words.

Or she forgot how to talk.

“I don’t think I ever want to hit puberty.”

Chloe let out a defeated sigh, “Me too…”

“How do they even fit…in shirts, I mean.”

“They didn’t have shirts on there though.” Chloe actually made a good point.

“Huh…you’re right.”

Silence.

“Pancakes?”

“Sure. I’m not responsible for the mess though.”

“Darn.”

The two girls went downstairs to munch on some leftover pancakes, leaving everything that happened under these 10 minutes in the past, tossed under Chloe’s bed. Right where it should be.
