Kara was always afraid of the dark, her mother thought it would go away when she grew up. It didn’t. Kara saw every scary thing in the book, and during horror movies her friends thought it was weird she didn’t seem spooked at the least during the movie’s climax, she saw the antagonist last Tuesday…
What she didn’t think she’d see was just a regular old door not attached to anything through, “what the heck?”Kara says shifting in bed, there’s no reply, no monstrous roar, just crickets the sound of her white noise machine, and her breathing, she looks around the room curiosity get the better of her, maybe there’s a thousand spiders on the ceiling, a creepy girl climbing out of her poster. nothing. Just an old door.
This is one of the creepiest things she’s ever seen, she moves her plushies out of the way and gets out of bed, steps up to the door and knocks….
There’s no reply again, “this is crazy.” Kara says to herself, she grabs the door knob and turns it opening the door……
For some it may have looked horrifying, but for Kara it sorta felt nice? A river ran in front of her it looked like it would burn her alive through, rocks protruding from the ground and walls, things that looked like lightning but smelled more like burning fire to Kara, there seems to be a palace in the distance. “Whoa.”Kara says, “whatcha doin here freak?” A raspy voice says, Kara spins around, a goblin stands in front of her. A cloak or a cloth around, blade in hand, tool pouch around his waist.
“Is that a fanny pack?” Kara asks, “What no… it’s a human object?… that has no name.”the goblin answers, “And that didn’t answer my question freak.”the goblin adds, “First off green pea, my name is Kara not freak. Second I came through that door.” Kara answers and points to the direction where the door, “What door kid?”
Kara turns around to see no door?…
“No…”

“Kid? What’s up with you?” The goblin asks
“How do I get home…”Kara asks softly, “What?” The goblin says, “How do I get home?!” Kara speaks more loudly this time. “Normally you would go in front of the council and plead your case to scare, but you’re not like others you’re scarier…”
“Your hair, your clothes, your skin. It’s terrifying. Man…” says the goblin, “you’re joking right?” Kara asks, her face a mix of shock and panic, “Right?” Kara moves closer, causing the goblin to back up, “No… I’m serious, I’ve got really bad eyes, I couldn’t see your face earlier, but close you’re one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen.” The goblin answers…
Kara takes a step back, “What…”Kara says, her face a mix of shock and confusion, what do you do when a goblin a literal goblin calls you one of the scariest things he’s ever seen?
“Look Kara right?..”, Kara nods in response, “ I gotta plead my case to the council, I can take you if you want?” The goblin proposes, Kara takes a deep breath, “Yeah take me with you.” Kara answers
“Alright let’s go then.” The goblin replies, while walking into the river of fire, “I don’t think I can walk through that..” kara says, “huh?”
“Really? You one of da scariest things I’ve seen and your weakness is fire?” The goblin questions, and chuckles, “Yeah?” Kara answers “You ain’t as scary as I thought, come on.” The goblin holds out his hand, “I’ll pull ya over it.” “Alright” Kara says and grabs his hand
The goblin pulls her over the fire which burns a bit. “What’s your name?” Kara asks.
“William. William Guard.” William answers. “So where are we going Will?”Kara asks.
“You see that palace up there, that’s it we gonna go up there and ask the council to send you home.” William answers, “I like how you think.” Kara compliments. “I’m a guard that’s just how we are.”Will says.
After an hour or so, they reach a salesman.
“Hiya would you like to buy the new claw 3000?” She says in a squeaky voice, she has long brown hair a cardigan over a centaur forever shirt? Kara looks down, whoa horse legs.
“Hi Rebecca.” Says will in a tired voice. “William I didn’t expect you guess I couldn’t see you down there.”Rebecca says. “What’s happening?”asks Kara. “Come on Rebecca, this isn’t grade school anymore.” Will says not answering Kara.
“Fine who’s your friend?” Rebecca asks. “I’m kara, I need to get home.” Kara says. “Cool Kara so do I, why do you think I’m selling these.” Rebecca says in a sarcastic tone, “Why don’t you join us Rebecca? We’re going to the council.” Will proposes. “The council?!” “WILLIAM AURTHOR GUARD. DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH?!”
“No?” Will answers. “Well it seems like you do!”Rebecca says. “Don’t you know what the new president of the DTA?” Rebecca asks. “What new president? It’s been Jeff man since like.. forever.”Will questions, “Turns out he was embezzling money that entire time.” Rebecca says. “Really?”will asks. “Can we get back task?”Kara asks “Fine I’ll shut up.” Will says, Kara starts walking on path to the palace, “This kid crazy but whatever.” Rebecca says and starts following her, followed by will..
