Far away from the mainland there was an interesting island. The island isn‘t on any map, and it seems that nobody has ever stepped foot on it. It’s not small, so that isn’t the reason why nobody found it.
No, it’s just that no one has ever seen it.
This island is not normal.
No. This island has a big magical mystery. Nobody on the island knows why their land is the only place on this earth where magic flows freely and the citizens can use it.
They are a thriving kingdom, safe under the protection of their strong king. The king who lives in the beautiful castle with the light blue roof tiles and the white stone walls on one of the floating islands above the capital city of Ori.
But the king does not live alone there. His wife and sons are there too, as well as his servants. The king himself is a rather loving man, not only to his family but also to his subjects. His name is King Bastian, and with his memorable blue eyes and dragon like wings he rules over this country.
But he will not be the centre of this story.
No. Much more interesting is his sixteen year old son named Mike. He resembles his father with his striking blue eyes, and he was the one who inherited the wings.
Even though they are not the deep green his father has, and the wings seem more fairy than dragon, Mike is very proud of his blue to pink wings.
His constant bursts of energy ensure that things never get boring, much to the dismay of his parents. And it does not help that he got the gift of wind magic.
At first Mike was sad that he didn’t get the same strong magic as his father, but he grew to love the wind magic he inherited from his mother. Especially since he can use it for the pranks he loves to play.
But he doesn’t only love pranks, no, he is much more into fighting. His dad trained with him when he was younger, but for some years the king has stopped, since he taught Mike everything he knows. Mike’s last test will be to defeat the king in a one versus one.
Mike already tried everything that came to his mind, even a sneak attack, which King Bastian flawlessly countered.
Overall Mike would say that his life seems perfect, especially when he just flies around the city or makes the apples from the market float. He loves his family, he loves his people, he loves his island.
But sometimes…
Sometimes he feels lonely, and he can’t explain why.

The mainland is a totally different story compared to the island. More people and almost no magic. In fact, using magic is so rare that people are willing to pay a fortune just to see it. The capital city is located at the port. Every day at least ten ships dock there. Some bring exotic food, some are fishermen, and some bring expensive goods like jewellery. Behind their backs people say that they are pirates, but no one dares to say anything to the knights.
In all this chaos there lives a seventeen year old boy. He’s loud, adventurous, curious, and loves to take risks. His blond hair often appears messy and he is always wearing the green bandana he got from his friend around his arm.
You will always see this boy around the port observing the ships (especially the alleged pirate ones). And every time he sees them board, he thinks about how he wants to see what’s beyond the horizon. What new people he might meet and what new foods he might taste.
He is always dreaming about how he could just sneak onto a ship, and once they are out on the ocean, far away, he will show himself and BOOM they can’t take him back to the city. This is a spear-safe plan, or at least he thinks so.
His family wouldn’t be so happy if he just vanished without saying anything, and he doubts that they would even let him go onto a ship. But at the same time they are giving him a lot of "space to grow", like they say. So maybe if he buys some paper now, writes them a letter, and leaves it on the table, they wouldn’t be too upset.
And he could sneak onto the pirate ship that will board tomorrow…
In his head this sounds like an excellent plan, so he did what he had thought. He bought some paper and once home he began to write:
Dear Parents, dear brother and dear Tubbo,
I am writing this because I believe that you are looking for me. Don’t worry, I have everything under control!
I always wanted to know what lies beyond the ocean, so I boarded a ship.
I will be back soon, don’t worry, I am a big guy now!
I will bring you lots and lots of new food and other stuff!

And soon he quietly moved around the barrels filled with wine to sneak onto the legendary ship.
He will be a real pirate! he thought. But things never go according to plan.
Soon he will find himself in a big storm. He will witness the ship sinking, and he will wake up on a beach no other person has ever seen except the citizens of this kingdom.
