It was just another regular day for the planets. Mars, Earth, Venus, and mercury are playing their usual game of solar cards.
“UNOOOO FUCK YEAHH!!” Earth exclaims “dude we are literally playing poker.” Mars says with confidence. “What? I thought we were playing spoons..” Mercury questions. “We don’t even HAVE spoons pipsqueak??” Venus said in pure confusion
The absolute chaos died down and Mercury and Venus left to their respective orbits, leaving Earth and Mars alone.
“Ahh that was fun, huh Earth? Even with how messy it got at the end”
“Yeah. It was.”
Mars turned to the side to look at the Earth, only to see him already staring at him. He looked deep into Earths eyes, only to see a fond, wistful gaze.
Mars felt heat rising in his cheeks, he awkwardly look away.
“Ah. Well uhm.
Uh.
IVE GOT TO GO!”
Mars scattered into the asteroid belt, leaving Earth alone with a confused gaze.
“Well. Ok? bye.?” He pushed out and look down thoughtfully
These types of reactions were common for the two. Mars suddenly floating away after Earth has done… something? Earth doesn’t really know and it always leaves him absolutely stumped.
“Why.. why does he always leave. Does he really not like me? God.. maybe I should be nicer..? Stop being annoying? Ugh.. I don’t even know at this point!”
“Why do I even try?” He shook his head and moved back to his orbit.
Tears started to spills from Earth’s eyes as his emotion started to mix in a slurry.
“Earth? What’s wrong”
“It’s nothing. Luna raised an eyebrow. “Luna seriously! No need to stress over me”
“Earth, seriously! You rarely cry. We even promised to never lie to each other again after the moon revolution .”
Earth takes a deep breath
“OKAY.. okay. I’ll tell you what’s troubling me.”
“Thank you!” Luna says with curiosity. He really wondered what could get him in his feels these days.
“So basicall-“
“…”
“ .. Earth? Basically what?”
Abruptly, the Earth stopped his bouncy, fluid movement and came into a stilled posture.
Luna took a closer look at the earth only to see hazy, unfocused eyes.
“EARTH??” Luna said with urgency
The Earth was now actually on his axis, in his normal orbit, as if he wasn’t a sentient planet anymore.
“Oh gosh.. this can’t be good.”

Mars knew there was something wrong with him. He has know it since he was born. When he met Proto, when Earth developed life, he had always felt something off about himself.
Those times, when Earth looked at him liked that, talked to him meaningfully, with his eyes gleaming of hope. He never knew how to feel, what to say.
He had always been friends with Earth, so why are these emotions only coming now? What changed?.. He truly couldn’t understand his feelings, so he goes to the only person who can help.
“JUPITER OH MY GOD PLEASE HELP ME“
“The hell’s your problem child?” He asked with concern. It wasn’t common to find Mars in such a ruined state. He was usually calm and intuitive, kind of like a mini Jupiter. He really looked up to him, huh.
“I just really need help with something.. i-if it’s okay.. of course.”
“Sure thing- is someone hurting you? I hope you know me and Saturn can handle that.” Jupiter says with reassurance
“No, it’s nothing like that!” Mars says with surprise. “I am just having problems with… emotions..?” Mars start to hear himself and now knows how stupid and childish he sounds. “Oh!” Jupiter says in surprise “I -um. is it.. are you OK? Emotions was the last thing Jupiter expected to talk about.
“So uhm.. whenever I talk to Ea- SOMEONE. Someone.. I just start to freeze up? Feel embarrassed? I don’t really know. That’s why I came to you.”
Seems like Mars has a little crush on Earth huh? I’m totally telling Saturn
“Well uhh, the only thing I can really tell you is to tell this someone your true feelings, what you feel deep down, at the bottom of your heart.”
“But I don’t know what I’m feeling!”
“Well how would I know kid? Only you know what you feel. And only you know what do to with that information.”
Mars took a second to take the information as he stared at down in silence.
“Wow. That really wasn’t helpful” Mars look straight into Jupiter’s eyes. “Thanks anyways. BYEEE” Mars quickly scattered into the asteroid belt, not waiting for a response.
“Well, that was quite the interaction.”

“ SATURNNNN”

“Just tell him how you feel. Just tell him how you- GOD I don’t know how I feel! UGHH. His ‘advice’ is useless.”
Mars was stressed out as he navigated through the asteroid belt.
“Why is it him of all people??” Mars blushed. He really was confused with his situation with Earth. Maybe he will consult someone else another day.
“Uhm what is that?” He asked as he saw something moving in the corner of his eye
He noticed a gold, shiny object drifting through the asteroid belt.
“How this did thing get all the way over here? I thought it was an earth thing. Maybe debris from a rocket or something”
Out of nowhere, something came out of odd object.
“Hello~, I am a genie trapped inside this lamp, I may grant one wish from you.”
Mars was absolutely dumbfounded. In a bad way.
“Uhm. Who the hell are you??.. Aren’t you an earthing thing.. How in the laws of physics did you get over here? And ain’t you supposed to have 3 wishes.? You sound like a fraud. I’m out.”
“WAIT- wait. I’m totally not a fraud.. I’m Genuinely stuck in here. Maybe you could wish to release me?” The genie said in retaliation, ignoring all other questions.
“Well, there’s not much I could wish for, I don’t really want anything..”
“Want huh” Mars thought to himself.
“Then just release me.. PLEASE DUDEE.”
“Genies don’t say ‘dude’ dude. But anyways know what I want to wish for!” Mars said hopefully. He was one hundred percent not gonna release this guy. Too sketchy.
“Okay! Wish away..” The genie said with excitement.
“I wishhhh..”
“?”
“That me and Earth can be.. closer…” Mars started to blush. Why did he end up saying THAT? So embarrassing.
The “genie” looked extremely disappointed. He sighed, “ Your wish is my command.. I guess.” The genie snapped, waved his hands around, and slowly went back into the lamp.
Everything suddenly went black.

“W-Where am I?” Mars looked up to see a bright blue.. sky?
Mars took in his surroundings and scanned the new area. He saw red bricks on each side of him. The notices he was laying on pavement. He could smell trash from those rectangles with black bags over there. He finally realized.
“…Ughh.” Mars heard some Earth sounding groaning at his ear. He turned his head to find an earthling, lying on the ground, drooling, with stars floating around their head.
“Mmhh….God.” The earthling slowly sat up while opening their eyes.
They made eye contact.
“…”
“…”
“What the hell is going on?” Mars questions. He starts breathing rapidly. in and out in and out. “Oh god, oh my god.” He is was obviously, totally, unimaginably, freaking out.
“Uh.. Calm down Earthli- human- no.. uhm.. DUDE!.. yeah. Calm down duuude.”
The strange earthling looked at him in the eyes with an embarrassed smile of reassurance. Those eyes…
“E-Earth? Is that you?” Mars questioned, still hyperventilating.
“Wait a damn second. Mars?? Holy shit! What’s going on”
“I don’t know? I-“ Mars froze. He knows exactly what’s going on. That STUPID wish from that ALIEXPRESS GENIE. FUCK.
Mars’ face quickly contorted from scared to annoyance and dissatisfaction.
“What. What’s going on… You know something.. don’t you ya scoundrel” Earth asked while admiring his.. hands. Still not used to this.
“Uhh.” Should he tell Earth the truth? Well that would be quite embarrassing. I guess he’ll lay off it for awhile.
“Of course I don’t know earth. But I don’t that we aren’t supposed to be earthlings!” Mars shouts, eyes widening and arms sprayed out in anger.
“Okay okay.” Earth says in defeat. “We need to get back to our original celestial bodies”
“Oh. Oh no shit?” Mars says almost suprised in Earths absolute brilliance .
“Ugh.” Earth slowly stand up, using the wall as support. He dusted his pants off “We are in an alleyways right now it seems”
Earth started to walk around with his arms out, trying to keep balance. Mars quickly followed pursuit and fell flat on his face
“OWW”
“MARS!” Earth quickly rushed over to him with no hesitation. “Are you ok? I know you haven’t walked before because.. you’re a planet and stuff. “You have?” Mars questioned while one of his eyes swelled.
“Well.. I have a frame of reference Y’know?” Earth said innocently ” Sureee sure.” Mars retaliated as he stood up using Earth as a support.
“So what are we going to do know?
Mars felt dumb. Soo so dumb. He was astonished that THIS is what the genie thought he wanted. He was thinking about some magic to change earth like..mind Yknow?. Even if it was a little immoral, it’s still better than THIS.
“Uhm…” Earth said shyly
They both looked out onto the open street. Cars, trucks and other automobiles on the street, people walking and talking, trees moving along with the wind.
They were absolutely screwed.
