Electra IF

Summary:

Electra was born on a path of dark promises. Electra grew up as an unusual child. Electra lived as a Knight.

(This story comes from chapters of one of my stories, featuring an original character of mine named Electra from my [Electra IF] which is a continuation of another called [Promise IF].)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Electra wore a cute smile on her face as she wandered through the streets of Banan.

Returning to one of the city-states of Kararagi was actually something pleasant for the young knight.

After all, after spending quite a long time away from her father and her mother Rem, she finally had the time to visit them again.

It wasn’t that Electra didn’t want to visit more often—far from it! If it were up to her, she would visit them every single day.

[Electra: Unfortunately, missing Mom Rem’s cooking has never been accepted as a valid excuse to take time off.]

Complaining more to herself than to anyone else, she had to admit that it probably sounded a little ridiculous to others.

But still!

For Electra and her father, who both held so much love for Rem, that excuse should be perfectly valid!

All because people simply didn’t know the wonder of Rem’s cooking!

Nodding a few times, she wore a slightly smug smile.

After all, knowing she was one of the few people who could experience and appreciate her mother Rem’s cooking made her feel proud.

And while she was doing that——

[???: Good morning, Electra-sama!]

[???: Did you have a good trip, Electra-sama?]

[???: Would you like to try a special sweet, Electra-sama?]

As she walked, people greeted her.

It wasn’t strange for her to be greeted that way.

In fact, it was quite natural. The name Electra, and the name Natsuki, were now very well known throughout the city.

But one greeting stood out—

[???: Electra-Nee-san!]

[Electra: Urf——!]

Dropping down on her from a nearby rooftop was a figure she recognized the moment she caught him in her arms.

A young boy whose appearance resembled their father a little, but with blue hair and blue eyes just like Rem’s. A bright smile stretched across his face as he looked at her.

Electra smiled back, though with a bit of embarrassment.

[Electra: How many times have I asked you not to jump on me like that, Rigel?]

[Rigel: A lot! But until I manage to surprise you, I’m not going to stop trying!]

[Electra: Hm? My little brother seriously thinks he can ambush me? Unfortunately for him, I’ve been training for far longer. I wouldn’t get caught by such a childish surprise attack. The only thing surprising here is how cute my little brother looks when he tries something like that.]

[Rigel: Uurgh! Don’t call me cute in that childish tone!]

Complaining irritably, Rigel squirmed in Electra’s hands, clearly embarrassed by his older sister’s words.

[Electra: Hihihi.]

[Rigel: H-Hey! Electra-Nee-san! Put me down!]

[Electra: No way. I like walking around like this so I can show off my… SUPER CUTE LITTLE BROTHER!]

[Rigel: NOOOO!!!]

To his dismay, Electra began walking while still holding him like that—truly showing him off as she carried him.

People smiled or laughed at the playful scene between the two, much to Rigel’s growing embarrassment.

Rigel began struggling harder to escape.

But it was useless.

The difference between them was huge. Even though Rigel stood out among children, Electra stood out among adults. In a contest between the two?

It was clear to the younger brother that he wouldn’t escape Electra’s grasp until she decided to release him.

At least until——

[???: Rigel… Were you teasing your sister again?]

[Rigel: Mom, help me!]

[Electra: Hello, Mom Rem.]

[Rem: I’m glad you came to visit us earlier this time, dear.]

Standing at the entrance of the Natsuki residence was Rem—her mother—wearing a traditional kimono that highlighted her short blue hair, making her look even more beautiful than she already was.

The blue-haired woman approached her daughter, who tucked Rigel under her left arm—ignoring his complaints—while hugging Rem with her free arm.

[Rem: Have you been eating well? And sleeping? I hope you haven’t been pushing yourself too hard.]

[Electra: I never push myself too hard without reason, Mom Rem. I just try to give my very best, that’s all!]

[Rem: Fufufu~ In that respect you’re just like your father… though it’s still worrying.]

[Rigel: Let me go…!]

As they exchanged a few cheerful words, Electra kept her confident and grateful smile.

Her mother always tried to make sure she didn’t overwork herself.

Just like her father did.

Then, noticing his absence, Electra looked around.

[Electra: Where’s Dad?]

[Rem: He had to go handle some matters with Halibel-sama. But he’ll be back soon. Come inside and rest a little—you must be tired from the trip.]

[Electra: Not really. Otto gave me a ride before heading off with Garf to deal with something while I came to visit you.]

[Rigel: Hey, stop ignoring me…!]

[Electra: Ark——!!!]

Letting out a choked sound of pain, Electra felt the kick her brother landed squarely on her backside.

[Electra: You little brat…!]

[Rigel: Big butt…!]

And just like that, the two began a small scuffle.

Electra gave Rigel light knocks on the head, while Rigel retaliated by kicking Electra’s backside.

Rem watched the scene while shaking her head, though a small smile still rested on her face.

[Rem: Alright, alright. That’s enough. It would be embarrassing if people kept seeing you two fighting like mischievous little children.]

With her words, they stopped.

Nodding, Electra set Rigel down—though not without giving him one last knock on the head, receiving a small kick to the back of her left leg in return.

Now the three of them stood together.

[Rem: I’ll prepare some tea for you.]

[Electra: Thank you, but… I think I just need to see someone for my energy to come back, since Dad isn’t here yet.]

—[X]—

Walking through the corridors of the house, Electra approached a particular room not far from her parents’ bedroom.

There, she slowly opened the door.

Inside was a small cradle.

Approaching with calm, slow, silent steps, she saw who was sleeping inside.

The small figure shifted slightly in an adorable way that made her smile even wider.

Electra gently reached out and lifted the small figure into her arms.

Holding the baby close, she looked down with a soft smile.

[Electra: Your big sister is home, Spica-chan.]

Saying this quietly so as not to wake the baby, Electra couldn’t feel happier than she did in that moment—holding her little sister in her arms.

—————

This is the first chapter of the fic I thought about writing about Electra.

A solo story focused on her, where I plan to write several chapters showing parts of her life.

Most of the time they won’t be in chronological order, but rather different moments from her story.

Some chapters will focus on comedy, others on family moments, and others on drama. Including things like:

1) Her facing the Sanctuary.

2) Fighting Garfiel.

3) Forming her own group.

4) Eventually meeting Beatrice again at the Mathers Mansion in the future.

Etc, etc.

Some chapters will be short, others long.

But all of them will be told from Electra’s point of view.

Don’t expect regular updates, but I can promise that I already have several ideas planned for her.
