Good thing there's only one person he can rely on- his new best friend, Flowey.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

He.. wasn’t sure where it began. And honestly, it didn’t really matter either.

Felix Tom Purrson lived a normal life- as normal as any in the underground. He had loving parents, a decent job, and went to college. Even had a few real friends here and there. And for a long time, his short nineteen years of life felt as though there was always something new happening. A customer with news or gossip, an incident in work or at home, a song release from the few music artists in the underground.

It was simple, predictable.

And.. then, at some odd point, things began to feel.. Stale.

Repetitive.

He couldn’t quite place it at first. A new song he already knew the lyrics to. A task he didn’t need the instructions for. A delivery that he could make without use of a map. Things just came more.. Easily. It didn’t make his life better, just- monotonous. And it was always, always followed by these dreams. Little deja vu moments, repeating the same things he always did. Sometimes there’d be these blurry flashes of something, little.. surprises.

Day to day events with a twist! An accident at work, a puzzle jam in the morning, a face he couldn’t remember when his eyes opened- but Felix had always remembered the faces of his regulars! In fact, there was almost never a new customer.. It was always the same crowd, the same faces at varying levels of frequency, but-

It was fine.
There wasn't really anything new to the Burger Emporium though, try as Mettaton might to glam things up. In fact, Felix wasn't sure his boss even noticed. Nobody seemed to think anything was any different, and why should they?

Every day was exactly the same.

Until the human showed up.
