A certain pink puffball was enjoying a scrumptious cake when Bandana Waddle Dee appeared, gasping for air.
“Kirby!” he cried, “It’s awful, so awful!” Kirby gave Bandana Waddle Dee a quizzical look before continuing to eat their cake. Savoring every bite, Kirby had no idea how this day could get any better.
“Can’t you see? There’s cakes falling from the sky!” Bandana Waddle Dee’s voice shook with horror, “I myself only narrowly avoided being crushed— Kirby where are you going? We need to find shelter. Kirby…?” Bandana Waddle Dee watched as his best friend ran bravely toward the falling cakes, giggling all the while.
Wiping away a tear, Bandana Waddle Dee noticed an abandoned strawberry shortcake sitting on a checkered picnic blanket. What a waste of perfectly good food… Bandanna Waddle Dee thought, staring wistfully at the single plump strawberry atop a mountain of sugary sweetness.
Looking back at Kirby who was swallowing whole castle sized cakes two at a time, Bandana Waddle Dee’s guilty conscience lifted. He plopped down on the picnic blanket, grinning. Picking up a fork, Bandana Waddle Dee was infinitely grateful to be one of Kirby’s closest friends.
