First he’s sour then he’s sweet

Summary:

Ethan goes for the nightly kill and comes to your apartment to clean up, since it’s close and he doesn’t think you’ll be home.

Notes:

Yes, the name is based off sour patch kids, sorry I’m corny

Work Text:

Ethan walked quickly to her apartment which was only a small ways away from where he was at, he had just murdered that stupid prick that had tried to help her with her business class last week. Ethan’s jaw tightened. Why would she take his help when Ethan was always readily available? The thought alone had been enough to pissed him off. He planned to slip in through her window which she always forgot to lock, rinse off, and greet her with an amazing dinner by the time she got home.

Soon enough he arrived at the alley right next to her apartment building. He stepped onto the dented metal dumpster, its surface groaning softly beneath his weight. From there, he balanced carefully onto the loose brick embedded in the wall; a foothold he had memorized long ago, and reached for the window. Just as he expected, it slid open with almost no resistance.

Once inside he took a deep breath and removed his mask, wiping the sweat off his face he started walking towards her bathroom when he suddenly heard a voice “E-Ethan?” He looked over to see her staring at him, her eyes wide with fear as she looked at the cloak, the blood, the mask in his hand. He stopped, trying to think of what to say “Baby!” he blurted out, forcing a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “You weren’t supposed to be back yet I-“ she cuts him off “what’s happening? Why do you have that mask, and the robe, a-and the blood?!” She took a small step backward, as if the distance might somehow protect her.
Ethan stepped forward

“Listen” he started “it’s not what what it looks like I- I just thought it would a funny Halloween costume? Maybe make us all less scared of ghost face?” He suggested “yeah? So that’s why you wore it to my house at 7:30 at night when you thought he I wouldn’t be home? How’d you get in anyways?” She says, looking at him expectantly.

He takes another step closer and put his hands out to comfort her “Baby, I know what this looks like but-“ She starts to walk out the door and he grabs her wrist harshly “Don’t walk away from me” he says, his voice low. She tries to pull her wrist away “Ethan let go” she says, trying to keep her voice calm “No! You have to stay here, you have to listen!” He pulls her closer. Then, suddenly, as if something inside him broke, he dropped to his knees.

“Baby” he says, starting to sob “I’ve made so many mistakes” He looked up at her, his expression raw, vulnerable, as more tears ran down his face “But it had to be done- I-I mean I’m doing this to keep you safe, trust me I’d never do anything to hurt you, or anyone you love for that matter.” He knew that last part was a lie, but he didn’t care, he’d do absolutely anything to make you stay

She pauses as she looks at him in his pathetic state, crying on his knees, kissing her legs while begging her to stay. All her senses told her to run, told her that she shouldn’t forgive him but she looked at his sad face and sighed, dropping down to his level. “It’s okay” she said, wiping his tears “I’m not gonna leave, I forgive you, I’m still here.” Ethan stopped his crying and looked up at her “Really?” She nodded “Yes really, just please don’t do this again” He nods “Y-yeah of course! Whatever you want Baby!” He said, still knowing that it was a lie.

After she comforted him for a while he went to go shower and clean the blood off himself while she was left to process what had happened. Her boyfriend was ghostface, and he had just murdered someone, yet she did nothing about it, didn’t even leave. She sat there for a while just holding back tears as she thought about how much this would impact her life.

Before she could think about another thing, Ethan walked in and sat down next to her. “Listen, I know you’re upset, but I swear I’ll never harm another person again if that’s what you want, okay? I only want what’s best for you.” She stared at him and smiled, processing his words, before looking down at her lap “yeah, okay, thank you.” He smiled and grabbed her chin, kissing her forehead. “Of course my angel, now let’s get some rest okay.” They lay down together, the room dark and still once more. both trying to forget the events of the night.
