“Hey can we talk later.”
Apple had asked Darling. She didn’t know why she did. It was an average day at ever after high it was a passing period on a day it was pouring rain.
But then again she knew why. Deep down she knew why. The kiss. It had been months and they had barely mentioned it, and know that Daring is openly with Rosabella they should talk.
Darling flustered leaning against her locker responded “Sure, I mean of course Apple. When would you like to talk?”
“How about tonight during free period, in my dorm? If that’s ok?” Why was she getting flustered, She didn’t know how not to get flustered she never did with Darling’s brother, why now. But she knew. She felt herself fixing her posture like a proper lady.
“Yeah, ok.” Darling said nodding and running off. “Best off to class, see you later Apple.”
That left her standing there shocked at her question. . . Buttt no time to dwell on it now she had the free time at night before she saw Darling to do that.
The rest of the day went by fast except for the ringing in the back of her head of the bullet she bit.
Heading back to her dorm at the end of the day was a relief but also she felt the nervousness turning into butterflies in her stomach.
She entered her dorm to find Raven sitting down on her bed un tieing and re tieing another pair of boots on her feet.
That’s right Raven had a date with Dexter tonight.
“Sup , Apple I’ll be leaving soon, is the purple or the blue better?” She said holding up two hair bows.
“The Navy, it’s a better contrast with your hair.”
Apple took a seat on her own bed.
“Do you know around what time you’ll get back?”
“Why do you want to know?” Did Raven always ask so many questions.
“So you don’t wake me up.” It was a bad answer but it was one. She always enjoyed getting 10 hours of sleep and it was at least an alibi.
“Round 8:30, I don’t want detention for being out after curfew-.” There curfew was 9:30. “- the movie is not that long only an hour ish but we’re also going out for dessert so give or take.” Raven said stepping up off her bed. “I have a movie to catch, Night Apple.”
“Good night Raven-“ That was when the dorm door slammed shut.
After Raven left, Apple mostly waited. She fixed her hair, wrote something for Babayaga’s class, set alarms for 8:15, 8:20 and 8:30.
That gave them an hour-ish to talk if Darling got here soon .
After a few more minutes of waiting she heard a knock at the door. She walked over to answer it. When she answered it she took in the fellow Royal on the other side of the door.
Darling had showed up to there rendezvou with her appearance slightly altered from earlier that day. She had tasselled her hair in to a long messy braid, pieces of blue falling off from the braid. Despite her tendency to enjoy the perfect of life, Apple found her hair extremely pretty.
“Come in.” She said gesturing to her bed where they both sat.
Darling started rambling. “I assume this is about the kiss and I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have kissed you. You don’t like me I get it I shouldn’t have I was just scared-.”
Oh no, this is going all wrong she is was apologizing. Before she knew what she was doing she felt her lips on Darling’s.
It was a sweet gentle kiss, soft and slow, Darling’s lip gloss tasted like lemons and honey.
When it ended Darling uttered a simple.
“What?”
“Oh I’m sorry, we didn’t talk earlier. If I’m honest. I was scared. I still am.”
“You like me?” Responded Darling in disbelief.
“Why else would the kiss work?”
Darling laughed. “I know it’s just you were dating my brother.”
Apple grabbed Darling hands. “ I maybe the queen of denial. I’m sorry about that but first would you like to be my girlfriend?”
Darling nodded. “It’s just I’m not out to many people.”
“I’m out to nobody , so we can be secret girl friends for a little while.”clasping her cheek.
“Then we shall be.” Said Darling recalling her knight persona. “Also? You could come out to me? Only if you’re ready though?”
Apple thought in her head. Her girl friend would be the perfect person to come out to she wouldn’t react badly,
“Ok then, my lady.” She somehow liked saying that. “Im a lesbian. I like girls especially you.”
She said poking her new girlfriend. For this she received kiss on the cheek and a whispered “We act like you don’t know I’m Gay.” Well Yeah Apple Knew she was probably gay, after all she was her true love kiss and a sword Lesbian.
After that Apple gave Darling and another sweet long gentle kiss. Apple found she enjoyed kissing Darling way more than her brother. Maybe it was because darling was more fun to kiss with her soft lips and happiness radiating off of her on to Apple. The kiss continued to deepen, she ended up with one of her hands on Darlings cheek and the other on her shoulder. After a short time later, she felt Darlings hands slide to the back of her neck, and the other landed at her hip.
The kiss only stopped when an alarm jolted them away.
Damn it she had forgotten about her roommate and the alarms she had set.
After quickly turning it off she went back to kissing Darling lips, after the kiss finished Darling questioned her “what was the alarm for?”
Apple responded. “Raven and Dexter are on a date currently, I set alarms so Raven wouldn’t walk in on us talking.” I said as the second alarm went off. Once again being quickly turned it off.
“Well then I suppose this is good night.”
“Wait I’ll walk you to your dorm.”
After Darling agreed and grabbing her stuff they were off.
Ever after high had 4 towers of dorms, 2 girls and 2 boys. Darling lived in the other girls dormitory. As they walked out side on the small cobblestone path connecting the dorms, Apple found herself with a question for her partner.
“If you don’t mind me asking who else knows that about you?”
It took Darling a second to respond.
“I’ve told Rosabella and Dexter.”
“Would it be okay if I told Raven, it’s just I’ve been thinking about it.”
“Of course you can honey.”
“Honey?” Apple questioned.
“Sorry I was just trying it out.”
“No it’s fine, it was cute.” Apple replied touching her cheek.
Just like that they were at Darlings dorm.
“We’ll have a good night Darling.” Shared Apple.
“You to.” Responded, darling leaning in for a good bye kiss.
The shared a short kiss on the mouth before Darling descended into her room.
On her walk back she pondered her day wondering how she got here, that thought took her back to right outside her dorm meeting Raven at the door.
. “where have you been?” questioned Raven.
“Out.” Was Apples only response.
