Chapter Text
Role in Camp:
Leatherworker’s assistant; repairs harnesses, straps, and training gear
External Traits:
Quiet, physically capable, often overlooked unless she makes a mistake. Moves with controlled precision, as though constantly aware of her body in space.
Internal Landscape:
Alara lives with a persistent, low-burning grief she has never named. Her clipped wings are not just a loss—they are a disruption of identity. She feels like something incomplete, something interrupted mid-creation.
She does not think of herself as angry.
But she is.
Survival Strategy:
Containment.
She keeps her emotions tightly controlled, her movements efficient, her presence minimal. She survives by not drawing attention and by making herself useful in ways that don’t invite scrutiny.
Relationship to Wings / Flight:
Painfully intimate.
She remembers enough of early childhood to know what she lost, but not enough to fully reclaim it. Flight, to her, is less memory and more phantom limb—something her body still reaches for instinctively.
