Chapter Text
Lunar was running as fast as his legs could carry him. Earth had sent him to grab Mars, who was running late for their plan to catch Day and Folly. As Earth’s best friend and most loyal companion, Lunar wasn’t about to let her down.
He burst into Mars’s room without knocking, a big mischievous grin already spreading across his face.
“Yo, buddy boy Mars! What’s taking you so long? We’ve got places to be and chaos to cause!” he called out teasingly.
Then he stopped dead in his tracks.
Mars stood there in nothing but a pair of men’s underwear, a very obvious bulge visible. Lunar’s eyes went wide, his usual playful smirk frozen on his face. For once, the mischievous Lunar was completely speechless.
Mars kept calmly applying her lipstick, not even bothering to cover up.
“Do you know how to knock,” she asked in a sassy, annoyed tone, “or are you just gonna stand there and stare like an idiot?”
Lunar blinked rapidly, his brain finally catching up. He scratched the back of his head, trying to recover some of his usual teasing energy, but his voice came out a little higher than normal
“I… uh… wow. Okay. That’s… not what I was expecting when I ran in here.”
Mars sighed. “Yes, I’m biologically male,” she said. “And no, I’m not a cross-dresser—that’s an outdated term. I’m trans. I was hoping to come out later, but you just had to barge in and find out early.”
Lunar stood there for a second, processing. The mischievous spark in his eyes dimmed as he realized how big this moment was for her. He straightened up, his loyal and serious side taking over.
He cleared his throat, tone shifting from teasing to genuine.
“Hey… Mars. First off, sorry for barging in like that—I should’ve knocked. That was on me.” He gave her a small, sincere smile. “And second… thanks for trusting me enough that I get to be the first to know, even if it was an accident. Your secret’s safe with me. Earth’s best friend doesn’t snitch.”
Then, because he couldn’t help himself completely, a tiny mischievous grin crept back onto his face.
“But uh… just so we’re clear… does this mean I can start calling you ‘Mars Bar’ now, or is that still off-limits?”
Mars stared at him hard, unamused.
"Get. Out."
Lunar threw his hands up in mock surrender, still chuckling. "Alright, alright! I'm going!" He turned to leave, but couldn't resist one last jab. He paused at the door and glanced back.
"Wait... is that why you acted so weird when DJ asked you out? Man, everything makes sense now!"
