"Even if you did wait for me forever, why did you die right next to me?"

Summary:

“I think it’s ridiculous. He has secrets that need to be told; yeah, but I highly doubt he’d ACTUALLY give them to anyone without them signing a contract that signs their soul away.” Wifies sneers from nowhere in particular.

Wemmbu and Parrot had brought Luke to talk to Wifies from beyond the grave, and now even the director was saying no?

“Look, even if we did try to hunt his soul down so we could have him haunt someone, he’d probably just run away. It’s a reflex, I've SEEN him do it. He runs when he’s alone with too many people.” The Director scoffs, his form materializing in front of the three. “Plus, no one really wants to have Boosfer to haunt them. Not even Kier and Dev! I’ve asked!”

OR - They discuss bringing Boosfer back.

Work Text:

Luke heaves as he collapses on the floor next to Boosfer’s body, tears running down his face as he slowly lifts the man’s face up to his.

Boosfer’s eyes were cloudy, no sign of life in his eyes whatsoever, skull smashed in with a mace from who stood behind him.

Wemmbu.

Wemmbu couldn’t move, he had done something horrible. On camera. Now they’ll never get Boosfer back, or the answers he had. Not unless they asked the admins or the director to bring him back. Like that’ll ever happen. They’d also have to be haunted by Boosfer for a week to capture his soul and bring him back. It was a ridiculous task, especially with how annoying and slippery Boosfer was.

Luke would never get his friend back…

Unless…

Parrot groans. “I’m definitely going to regret this, but–”

“I’ll take him.” Wemmbu interjects. “He’s my brother and I killed him, I think it’s only reasonable that he gets to haunt me.”

“Yeah, I can do that.” Wifies huffs, patting Parrot’s back. “We just have to go into the underworld and find Boosfer’s soul and pray he doesn’t run from us.”

Luke bites the inside of his cheek, he doesn’t know what he should expect, but he knows it’ll probably be bad.

~~

Wemmbu helps Luke hop down into the underworld, using the hole Boosfer has dug out that time he wanted to assassinate Wemmbu.

How ironic.

“Down here after so long…” Wemmbu huffs, looking around before going southeast.

After traveling for long enough, the three, plus Wifies’ ghost form, end up making it to what looks like a makeshift plains biome.

Trees within millions of blocks within render distance, a few mountains, a small garden and…A house, small enough to blend in but big enough to fit one person.

One person.

The house was a simple dark oak mixed in with oak and spruce house, decorated with all sorts of blocks of green. A green banner for a flag, a berry bush, leaves scattered around the house, stuff like that.

This…It was Boosfer’s house.

“C’mon, he’d probably run by the time he realizes what we’re trying to do.” Wifies huffs, walking up to the door, slowly creaking it open. “Boosfer? You in here?”

No answer. The others walk in, Wemmbu and Parrot immediately start looking around while Luke peeks in different corners of the small base, looking for any note of a secret entrance to anywhere.

Wifies, meanwhile, walks over to the single room near the back of the base, knocking on the door before opening it.

Boosfer sleeps peacefully under the blankets, wings curled up around him, as if protecting himself. Wifies softens slightly, walking over and sitting down on the edge of the bed. The mattress sinks in as he does so.

Timeskip, Monday.

~~

Boosfer blows raspberries as Flame scolds Wemmbu for killing their brother.

“You can’t keep doing this, Wemmbu! You hurt him every time he doesn’t give us what we want and you wonder why he won’t open up!” The NetherBorne yells, eyes tearing up under the blindfold.

Boosfer had been haunting Wemmbu for barely 2 hours and he wishes he’d been able to haunt Baablu or whatever, not being scolded by Flame. Yet, he found himself yearning for another player.

Luke sits in the corner, enchanting the mace Boosfer had given him the last time he logged on.

The ghost of the AetherBorne strides over, hesitantly wrapping his arms around Luke’s waist.

“You’re grieving.” He chuckles, pressing a hand against Luke’s cheek, the green pigment from his skin burning into Luke’s grey.

“Yeah, so what….” Luke mutters, tail flicking around from irritation. He missed Boosfer so much it hurt, and here the ghost was. Messing with him.

“It’s just…Funny.” The AetherBorne hands the redstoner more lapis, wings fluttering behind him. He doesn’t even mind the fact that he just went from ghost to his physical form. “Grieving over me like a pet.” he sighs, tail softly wagging behind him.

After Luke doesn’t answer, Boosfer scoffs. Moves away, quickly fades back into his ghost form, floating back over to Wemmbu.

The day ended like that, Flame and Wemmbu fighting, Boosfer and Luke talking, Parrot and Wifies refusing to communicate, Boosfer and Wifies playing chess, Luke and Wemmbu watching, Flame and Parrot discussing plans, and stuff like that.

Boosfer enjoyed today. Maybe tomorrow would be better.

Right?
