It was a normal day for Serena. Her electrowatch had alerted her to check on the power supply. Though, she wasn’t in her usual attire. She was in special princess attire due to preparing for a storytime that she was planning to do with the Movers for the local library. Her dress was one that was pastel pink with lavender as an undertone. She also wore a silver tiara with pastel pink hearts. She also wore matching flats, even though the usual princesses wore heels. She couldn’t ever walk in heels.
As she knocked on the door, the door was surprisingly opened by Warehouse Mouse. Once she entered, she was surprisingly not noticed by the Movers and Nina as they were having a pillow fight. She walked past them, and she almost got hit by a pillow. Fortunately, she ducked out of the way as she went to the Electric Supply Room.
As she was working on the tangled wires in the power box, a sudden yet powerful jolt of electricity shocked through her body, causing her to pass out and hit the floor with a very loud THUD. Once she hit the floor, The Movers and Nina went to the Electric Supply Room to see what happened.
Nina was the first one to notice something was wrong and immediately shook Serena by holding her shoulders.
“Serena! Serena! Wake up, please!” Nina yells out of genuine panic for her dear friend.
Rich, Scott, Dave, and Smitty also go to check up on Serena. Scott is far from where Serena is and is panicking. Dave is right by his side.
“Scott, look at me. It’s going to be okay. She’s going to be okay. I hope she wakes up at any minute now. If you’re scared, you and I can go play with puppets. Would you like that?” Dave lowered his voice to soothe Scott.
Scott looked at Dave in the eyes and calmed down by taking deep breaths. He also spoke in a lowered tone of voice to respond to Dave. “As much as that sounds tempting, I want to be brave. It’s honestly scary, but Serena wouldn’t want me to be scared.”
Meanwhile, Smitty was checking on Serena’s vitals with a stethoscope.
“Her vitals are normal, heart’s beating. She has a pulse, but what could’ve caused this to happen?” Smitty speaks to the others with his calm and steady tone of his voice.
Rich who hasn’t said a word this entire time and has been trying to process this entire situation speaks up.
“This isn’t just a problem, it’s an Idea Emergency!” Dave, Scott, and Smitty soon join him.
"We need to find out.." Dave spoke first.
"What's wrong with Serena.." Scott spoke second.
"And help her wake up again.." Rich spoke third.
"And that means we need some good ideas.." Smitty spoke last.
"Let's brainstorm!" They all shouted.
After the Movers do their brainstorming, Nina spoke up and voiced her many concerns.
“Before we come up with anything, can we at least bring Serena to a room where she’ll be laying on something soft and clean? I don’t want her to panic over having dirt on her princess dress. She also looks so delightful as a princess. You know, this all reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, that’s her favorite fairytale.”
Dave looks at Nina in confusion and speaks up in response to what Nina said.
“You’re right. All right guys, let’s move Serena to the Pillow Room! But how are we going to be able to pick her up?” Dave spoke in a curious tone to the other Movers.
Smitty speaks up in response and looks up at the others.
“We could do this by working together or one of us doing it alone while the others watch to make sure we’re transporting her safely.”
Scott responds to Smitty with his usual energy in his voice.
“I got an idea! What if we do Rock Paper Scissors?!” Scott yelled in absolute glee as he spun around.
They all ended up agreeing to Scott’s idea but they kept getting the same result 10 times in a row.
“You know what? We should try to carry her all together!” Dave speaks after the hilarious game of Rock Paper Scissors.
Rich, Scott, Smitty, and Nina all nod in agreement. Dave joins them as they all go over to Serena to pick her up.
Rich picks her up from the head area. Dave and Nina each have an arm around one of their shoulders. Smitty and Scott are both holding one of her legs.
“We did it! Now let’s move!” They all yelled out of joy. They all move in completely different directions. Almost everyone ended up losing their grip on Serena, except for Rich. As soon as he noticed what was happening, he ended up maneuvering into carrying Serena in a way that Dave does when Rich gets scared.
Once Dave, Scott, Smitty and Nina were about to panic over possibly dropping Serena. They noticed how Rich was holding her.
“Aww, Rich and Serena look so cute together! Don’t you guys agree with me? He’s like her prince in the fairy-“
Rich quickly yet politely interjects over Scott. His face gets slightly more pink. “I’m just doing the right thing. I didn’t want her to get hurt.”
Dave nods in agreement to what Rich said, but he also responds in a lightheartedly playful way.
“I agree with Scott. I’ve never seen Rich hold a person like this. He also keeps looking at her face with an affectionate look in his eyes. Isn’t that so cute? He’s got a crush!”
Rich interjects once again as his face gets more pink. He knew that Dave was teasing him, but he was still flustered.
“Dave!”
Nina looks at Dave and shakes her head.
“Come on, we’re supposed to bring Serena to the pillow room! We shouldn’t get distracted!”
Timeskip to after Montage to the Pillow Room.
Rich gently places Serena on the biggest pillow in the Pillow Room and for a brief moment just zones out. Smitty quickly noticed and gently nudged Rich.
“So what do we do now? How are we going to wake her up?” Scott speaks up in a worried tone voice as he looks over to the sleeping Serena.
Dave speaks up in response to Scott. He looks over to Nina.
“Wait Nina, remember what you said earlier?”
Nina looks at Dave in confusion at first, and then she had this expression of realization.
“Oh the part of me talking about how this whole problem felt similar to Sleeping Beauty? Oh I get what you mean. In the story, the prince finds the princess and gives her true love’s kiss! It wakes her up. And uh, I may have to forgot to mention what happened to Serena. She got electrocuted.”
Nina’s expression becomes sheepish once she tells the Movers what happened.
The other Movers look at Nina and actually nod in appreciation.
“You know what, that makes sense. I felt electricity when I was checking on her vitals.” Smitty spoke up in response to Nina.
“So what now?” Scott responded in a curious tone.
Dave speaks up in response. “I know what we need to do! We need a prince to give her true love’s kiss! But who will it be?
Dave, Smitty, Scott, and Nina all look at Rich in unison.
“What’s with everyone staring at me? I would not be fit to do this! I don’t know if she likes me like that.” Rich responds in a very kind and polite way.
A song begins to fill the air as The Movers and Nina get into pastel themed medieval outfits.
Scott: “Princess Serena...”
Dave: (cutting off Scott) “Scott, she's not even a princess.”
Scott: “In this song she is!
Princess Serena is sleeping in the arms of a dashingly kind, handsome guy.”
Dave: “That is true...”
Scott: “That man's name is Rich...
Wait, what rhymes with Rich...? Ooh! Plays lovely music, great pitch. Says he's holding her to do the right thing, or so he tells of.”
Rich: (dully) “Seriously?”
Scott: “But is that the real case, or is Richie in...”
Rich: SCOTT!
Scott: ...Love?
Rich: He sighs exasperatingly with a hint of annoyance that the other Movers are bringing up his crush on Serena again.
After the song ends, Rich is visibly flustered. He eventually sighs and looks at his friends.
“I’ll do it! Though, I’m worried that my kissing skills are not the best. I have kissed other people in the past, don’t get me wrong. I’m just nervous about this.” Rich politely explains himself to his friends.
Rich sits next to Serena on the big pillow and looks down at her. He smiles softly and goes to kiss her on the lips.
After the kiss Rich gives, Serena awakens from her slumber.
“What happened?” Serena speaks softly while looking up to see her crush above her. Safe to say, her face becomes fully pink.
Rich quickly looks away from Serena as Scott responds in a happy and satisfied way.
“Well that’s another Idea Emergency solved!”
Dave chimes in to playfully tease Rich.
“Are we sure that he’s not in love?”
Smitty nudges Dave, Nina, and Scott to Ieave the pillow room.
As the three of them leave the room. Rich realizes it’s just him and Serena all alone. He speaks up as he looks at Serena.
“Well i wasn’t expecting to be the reason you woke up. I guess we learned something. Expect the unexpected. And by the way, the feelings of love are mutual.”
Serena’s eyes widen in pure shock at this news. She speaks in her natural way of talking which is sweet.
“I can’t believe this. I feel like I’m dreaming. Though, next time I’m near that power supply. I’ll have someone to be by my side so I don’t get electrocuted like that again.”
Rich responds to Serena in his usual kind voice. He also goes in for a kiss.
“Well that’s a happily ever after for us, hope we can have more time together as our love for each other blooms. I can’t wait to see you perform as a princess for the local library.”
As Serena and Rich were about to lock lips for the second time, Warehouse Mouse suddenly gets in between them which startles Serena so much that she dashes out of the room.
Rich looks at the empty pillow in pure disbelief. He also sighs exasperatedly as he chases after Serena.
Warehouse Mouse just laughs as our story ends.
