Chapter Text
The lights were dim yet sparkling, beautifully shining onto the crowd; Which was large and full of excitement! The time had just hit 12:00 AM! It was officially New Year's 1988!
The band member's voices were now synchronizing wonderfully as they were finishing their improvised acapella, with Beach Bear taking the lead. (As he insisted.)
It truly felt like one of the best New Year's they've had so far!
'Will see you later now, will see ya later now! Will see you later now, will see ya later now!"
After the band sang one of their last songs of the night and the show was almost over, Billy Bob thought this would be the perfect moment to announce something.
"That was fun Beach Bear!" Billy Bob shouted from the smaller stage.
Beach Bear felt giddy and couldn't help but giggle. His idea to do an acapella was so silly and he knew that full well.
Billy Bob thought his laughter sounded so very adorable!
The polar bear looked over smiling. "Hehehe! That was good! Uh-"
Billy Bob was so excited that he didn't realize he cut him off.
"Hey- You know what, Beach Bear before we go and before we say see ya later everybody, there is somethin' I- I've been wantin' you to do... Uh- After New Year's- 1988 started..."
He gulped, he was a bit nervous. Especially since they would be confessing in front of a large crowd.
"And um- and- and would ya do it? I want- I want everybody ta' know, that whatever we are and whatever we turn into; It's okay for 1988- And even if we don't keep our resolutions were okay and so it's sort of a- a be what you are situation."
Beach Bear, knowing what he was hinting at and seeing the crowd's confused faces (including his band mates.) Nervously chuckled.
"Would you indulge ol' Billy Bob?" The grizzly bear said with his eyelashes fluttering, making Beach Bear even more giggly.
He could barely see them fluttering from that far away but he definitely knew what he was doing.
"What do ya think? C'mon..."
"Billy Bob, Billy Bob..! You can't do this to me! It's New Year's- It's 1988- I can't start... A year like this. It's..."
He trailed off, leaning back and lightly strumming his guitar, Billy Bob's eyes softened.
"If you absolutely refuse it's okay, we wont do it right now, we'll do it later. But I'd really like to."
"Alright..."
"WOAH I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHIN'!!" Billy Bob suddenly exclaimed. "ITS MITZI'S BIRTHDAY!!'
With that everyone sang happy birthday to her, and the rest of the night was wonderful. Even though there were some things left unsaid (for now.) Billy Bob was hopeful.
Although there was one person with an eyebrow still raised...
