Ah, yes. GardenView. It used to be one of the happiest places on Earth besides Disneyland. There used to be families of various numbers that visited every day. But thanks to Delilah, one of the two founders of GardenView, the whole place is deserted. However, the Toons, who were the main source of entertainment, stayed behind. Nowadays, the floors below the main one are nearly silent, with random stuff scattered everywhere. These quiet floors aren’t completely uninhabited though, as doppelgängers of the Toons, known as Twisteds, wander around—aggressive and violent, and so unlike how they were meant to be.
So, Dandy, the self-proclaimed leader of the group of Toons, has organised things called runs—groups of eight go down to the deeper floors to collect as much research and information as possible. That’s where a certain mischief maker comes in—Gigi, a Toon that’s known for snatching anything that looks relatively cool or shiny—storing the stuff she finds in her head, as she’s a gachapon.
Unlike the others, Gigi doesn’t have many friends—except for Connie and Flutter. But, those two aren’t always available, and the same goes for the other cats—so, being excitable, she decides to go on a run by herself. She’s always been a more independent individual anyway—she’s been like that since she was made. She’s always been by herself, so she got used to it. But that doesn’t stop the others not liking her from hurting—it’s not her fault she’s a kleptomaniac…is it? She’s probably worrying too much—she should be paying attention to what she’s doing. She’s on floor 14, and there’s Twisted Vee and Twisted Flutter roaming the floor—she’s on Shelly’s floor, to be precise. She’s scared, yes, but she doesn’t show it—she’s brave and fearless.
Gigi wanders around the room quietly, completely machines—once the last one’s done, she races back to the elevator, but gets attacked by Twisted Vee just as she gets in the elevator—she’ll be fine. Though, she does feel a bit weaker than usual—no, no. She’s fine! Everything’s okay! She’s Gigi, the one who’s never, ever upset or depressed about anything. Yeah…mhm. After a while, Gigi arrives back at the main floor of GardenView, covered in her own ichor—cuts and bruises marring her skin. Finn, who is a good friend of hers, wanders over, a look of concern on his usually cheery face—no fish puns right now. His country accent is softened with the concern only a true friend can express.
”Hey, Gigi…are you alright? That’s uh…that’s a lotta ichor…and way too many injuries.” Finn murmurs, his hands clasped together anxiously.
Gigi flinches ever so slightly at Finn’s voice—but then smiles and laughs like she’s not injured at all. It’s like she likes the pain.
”Pfft! Of course, Finn! I’m fine! How are you?” She replies, more dodging the question than answering it.
”Uh-huh…I-…I’m alright. But…you don’t look so good…uhm…maybe you should go see Cosmo?” Finn suggests softly, his tail giving a small, gentle flick, his ear fins twitching.
”Nah. Trust me, I’m okay! Just a bit roughed up is all.” Gigi says, stubborn as ever.
Internally, Gigi knows full well she’s not fine—she’s practically half dead with the amount of injuries she has. But, she’s stubborn and refuses to let anyone help—she’ll just let herself suffer in pain for the night. She likes how pain feels.
