Espionage en herbe

Summary:

You've heard of a serial killer group chat, but how about a spy one?

Spies aren't uncommon in our day an age, however they definitely don't shout it from the rooftops. Shuki forgot how she joined the Espionage en herbe gc, but she's never regretted it once. The drama and fun just keeps going! From Misaki's spy-for-hire lifestyle, Ronin's questionable loyalty to his questionable agency and even Vince's mission anecdotes. As they spend their free time in each other's company, some friendships will be doubted, some tested and feelings may bloom in the heart of danger.

Notes:

This is my first fanfiction. English isn't my first language. I came up with this randomly because I was starving on my way home. Please be kind 🙏🏻

I awoke to the sound of notifications. A necessary evil in my line of work. At least this time it wasn't a mission I was meant to do 2 hours before my bed time. I quickly opened my computer to see the many notifications of an old friend.

I smiled at the notification. I don't remember when I was invited in this group, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I remember receiving it years ago and accepting it all confused.

Each of us are spies from different agency. Well... except Misaki. She's a spy-for-hire. A amazing one in fact. The reason why she's not partnered with one is really stupid too! Picture this: she's so amazing at her job that no one knows it's the work of a spy! Literally suffering from success! It's a shame. We've tried finding her an agency while showing off her work, but no one believes they're connected. Even V offered to have her her join his family's agency, but she politely declined saying she didn't want pity and "will reach recognition on her own"... Sweet girl.

I calmly dropped a hi in the chat as I got dressed in my job uniform, because spy work isn't everything and left to go to the bakery. The bakery was a cover up for operations of course but it did really well on its own. It happened to not be far so getting started was rather easy. I calmly saluted the others before starting my own shift.

It was the great start of a great day. No trouble, no improtu missions, no bakery robberies (yes these did happened enough time for me to mention it), no nothing. Just a relaxing day at the bakery-patisserie.

That was until he came in. Tall, skinny, rectangular glasses on his nose, black hair, sweet smile. You'd think he give out free candy with no malice in his eyes.

"Hello! Welcome to Starlight bakery. What can I get started for you?" I asked smiling.

"I'd like a cinnamon roll, a blueberry muffin and a box of macarons pls." He softly said.

"Oh how many and what flavor?" I continued.

"A box of 6. Blueberry lemonade please. He said before smiling oddly.

We don't serve those. Not publicly that is. That's not a flavor we offer, but I understood what he wanted.

"I understand. A gift for someone?" I asked.

"Yes.. My wife wants them for her job meeting. Very important people she says. Her boss loves them." He said, sounding a little off but not enough for others to notice.

"Can I have a picture?" I nodded, reading between the lines.

He accepted and showed me a picture of the man in question. Round, balding, cigar in hand, suit and tie. He gave worthless boss vibes. No one too important but pretending he is.

"Oh lovely. I'll get that started. Do you prefer drizzled or filled?" I smiled innocently.

"Drizzled."

So he wanted information on that man and what he was planning. Interesting...

"Perfect! That'll be 15,85$. I'll send you the bill via email." I added.

"Thank you. I'll have to write a review." He said.

I wrote on the machine the actual price of the order and our services and let them check out.
