Byakuya could never leave his son in Japan, unattended for months without end! He just couldn't! America was on the other side of the world and although his boy is rather self sufficient, he's still nearly 10!
So what does he do?
Call the family.

"Byakuya where are we going?" He sat next to his father on the train. Unaware where this route went.
"Like I said, we are going to see your Obas."
"I have aunts?" His father paused for a brief second.
"Did I not tell you? I was pretty sure I did?"
"... Now that I think about it... I do remember something like that. I thought you meant my biological aunt."
He would soon find out that yes, he indeed had aunts. Also a grandmother, uncles, cousins, and just about the meanest Siamese he ever met.
