Draco feels he hit the rock bottom. He's not even exaggerating, this is truly the worst he's ever been at. Forget about breaking down in Myrtle’s bathroom. Forget about the Dark Lord living in his family home for months. Standing on the Hogwarts grounds, beside his parents, having the last minute doubts about whether it was the right side of the conflict to be on? Nah. Going on trial after the war, narrowly avoiding being sent to Azkaban for years? Not even close.

He feels a warm hand clasping his own, their fingers entwining.

“It's going to be alright,” says the voice next to his ear.

“How can you be so sure about it?”

“I just am.”

Draco casts a dubious glance at the building in front of him. “Is this even safe?”

“Of course it is. It's been like that for years. It's not going to fall down on your head.”

“It might just do so, out of spite.” He feels his hands getting clammy, but the grip doesn't falter. “I'm worried about its inhabitants more.”

“I'm not going to leave your side even for a minute. Nobody's going to eat you alive.”

Even in his agitated state, he can't help but roll his eyes. “It's not a monster under my bed that I'm worried about. I'm not a child. A couple of hexes and a flobberworm in my tea are much more likely. Maybe an ancient curse to tie it off.”

A body presses along his own. A solid, comforting presence.

“Draco. Do you trust me?”

The answer comes without even a moment of hesitation. “Yes,” he says simply.

“Then believe me when I say everything is going to be alright. It's just tea. We were invited. Both of us. Come on now, I have it on good authority that there's going to be a treacle tart and I hear it calling my name.”

“Of course you do. Idiot,” Draco adds in a fond voice and lets Harry pull him towards the Burrow.
