Stay With Me

Summary:

A royal wedding allows for Robin and Lon'qu to spend some time together and develop their relationship more.

Work Text:

“Sorry I'm late. That meeting took way longer than it needed to.”

It had been two months since the Shepherds had returned to Ylisse and settled into post-war life. Robin was busy juggling tasks across the country and within the capital. Chrom and Sumia’s wedding was coming up soon, causing even more stress and planning on Robin for ensuring that the event could even happen that quickly. Lon’qu stayed in Ylisstol as an official Shepherd and aided in post-war clean up- dealing with Plegian rebellions near the border or stray groups of Risen who wandered too close to villages.

“It's fine. Come, sit for a while.”

Robin sat down at their usual spot- a tree a short walk away from the castle that overlooked the city. By the late hours of the evening, it was always free from onlookers so they could spend as much time as they wanted together.

“I'm glad your mission went well. I wanted to go and assist, but I had too much planned for this week. I missed you.” Robin rested her head on Lon’qu’s shoulder.

“I missed you as well.” He had become more comfortable with their potentially romantic chats. Physical affection was still tricky and would make him more prone to his anxiety, but slowly doing more little acts of affection like cuddling or holding hands or the occasional kiss were helping him get more comfortable.

They still had refrained from telling most people of their relationship, as they didn't want to worry about the added stress and attention that would bring to Robin's life and position yet. She had enough on her plate already. There were a few exceptions who knew, namely Chrom, Sumia, Lissa, and Frederick so that they didn't have to sneak around as much, and Basilio and Flavia. The Khans had grilled Lon'qu to understand why he was leaving for Ylisse. While Robin did find it a bit funny, she decided to interject and confirm their relationship as the reason.

The reveal had been somewhat of a surprise for those they told. Basilio had simply laughed and said he'd drink for his right hand man that night. Flavia congratulated them and told them to enjoy peace while they could (but also to find time to visit Ferox every once in a while). Unfortunately, they hadn't had enough free time to even enjoy themselves, let alone to take a vacation. At least they'd see the Khans during Chrom and Sumia's wedding, and things should calm down a little after that.

“Lissa and Maribelle want to drag me to some boutique in town to find a dress for the wedding.” Robin sighed. “I told them I don't really need to dress up, since I'll be too busy running around to look nice. They didn't listen.”

Robin wasn't really the type of woman who dressed herself up. She wore what was practical for the situation.

“I have no choice, though. We have to take Sumia to make sure that her dress is ready so I'm going as a guard. They're going to turn me into their doll for this wedding.” Robin frowned.

“I hope it doesn't last too long, for your sake.” Lon'qu added.

“You just can't laugh when you see me dressed up- got it? I'll already feel weird enough on my own.”

Robin sat as patiently as she could while Maribelle did her makeup.

“All finished, dear. Oh, you look so lovely!” Maribelle exclaimed.

Lissa rushed over to see Maribelle's work.

“Robin! You look great! Like seriously!” Lissa gasped.

Robin looked into her reflection in the mirror. She had convinced Maribelle to do only a little bit of makeup, and style her hair into loose curls. She didn't really look like herself, but she did look like someone out of a painting.

“She’s ready.” Olivia stepped into the room.

Behind her stood the soon-to-be queen of Ylisse, dressed up in the most elegant (and expensive) gown Robin had ever seen.

Robin had meticulously planned this wedding to go as smoothly as possible. The Shepherds would alternate guarding the castle throughout the day, with Robin taking the last shift. Chrom insisted she get to enjoy some of the festivities, so she gave in and took one of the late guard shifts. For now, she was tasked with making sure Sumia could get to the cathedral uninterrupted.

As they walked through the halls of the castle, Sumia was silent.

“Robin? Do I look fine? I feel like I'm going to pass out…” Sumia complained.

“Sumia, you look perfect. Everything is going to be fine, you're just nervous. Let's take a moment to catch your breath.” She paused. “I promise you, everything is going to be okay. Chrom can't wait to marry you. He adores you.”

“Thank you Robin. I dreamed so long for a fairy tale wedding, and here I am freaking out about it now.” Sumia laughed. “I wonder if you'll understand whenever you get married.”

Marriage hadn't quite been on Robin's mind before that moment. The idea did make her heart beat a little faster. What would a marriage look like with Lon’qu?

“I think I'm ready now. Sorry for making you wait on me.” Sumia apologized.

“It's no problem, Sumia. Let's go.” Robin took her hand and guided her to the huge door of the cathedral. “Just like we practiced, once you hear music start the doors will open and you can walk down the aisle. You can do it.”

“Yes, you're right.” Sumia nodded, looking straight at the door.

“I have to go in now. Deep breaths. That nervousness will be over before you know it!” Robin gave her one last smile before she entered the cathedral by herself.

Robin had a seat assigned in the front row to watch the ceremony. As she quickly slipped through the seats to reach her own, she was impressed by just how many people were present. Sure she did plan the event including sending out the invitations, but it still surprised her how many people could fit in the room. She locked eyes with Chrom, who wore the fanciest attire she had ever seen him in. He looked like the prince he truly was.

As she made her way to her seat, she noticed Lon’qu in the seat next to her. He was also dressed up, which made her want to smile. She pushed that urge down as she sat down. He couldn't help but stare at her for a moment. Casting him a quick glance, she gave a sly smile before turning to head away.

Right on cue, the music started playing and the doors to the cathedral opened revealing Sumia in her wedding gown. The crowd admired the bride and watched as she walked down the aisle, meeting Chrom at the altar.

The ceremony (long as it was) went according to plan. Vows were shared, and the couple was finally declared wed. Chrom and Sumia would spend some time riding around Ylisstol to receive their blessings from the citizens and those who couldn't attend the ceremony. In the meantime, Robin ushered everyone into the Grand Hall to begin the celebrations of the evening.

“Robin! Go take a break. It's my shift now.”

Robin turned around to see Sully walking towards her. Sully wore a fine suit, but she still had a sword at her side.

“Thanks Sully. Don't hesitate to find me if anything happens.”

“Of course, but I think I got it covered. Go relax and make some guy or girl want to dance with you!” Sully laughed.

The Grand Hall was full of guests chatting and enjoying meals brought by wait staff. Musicians played instruments towards one end of the hall.

Robin looked around, noticing all the conversations between guests. Lissa and Maribelle had pulled Cordelia and Olivia into their group to chat and enjoy the festivities. Gregor and Gaius already had a glass in their hands. Virion had brought a guest with pink hair with him. Tharja stood along the back wall, watching the crowds.

In the distance she spotted Basilio and Flavia chatting with Lon’qu. Basilio noticed her and waved over to her.

“Damn Robin, quite the looker tonight.” Basilio commented.

“Shut up, oaf.” Flavia elbowed him. “But you do look lovely, Robin.”

“T-thank you.” She wasn't really used to compliments on her appearance, so she felt a bit embarrassed by it.

“We were just asking how things have been here in Ylisse! Must be quite the party around here with all this wedding planning.” Basilio joked.

“It's been busier than I could've imagined.” Robin chuckled.

“Well how's the happy couple doing?” Basilio moved straight to the point.

Lon’qu groaned at the question and Robin didn’t really know what to say.

“Uh oh, don’t tell me there’s been some kinda trouble.” Basilio seemed surprised.

“No no, nothing like that!” Robin quickly interjected. “We just haven’t really told anyone since we came back since it’s been so busy.”

“I see.” Flavia nodded. “The oaf just wants you two to be happy.”

“I appreciate the concern.” Robin laughed. “Things are fine- really.”

“Glad to hear it. I’d hate to have to drag him back all heartbroken to Ferox.” Basilio’s laughter roared through the Hall.

Lon’qu had turned slightly red over the conversation.

“Oh shut it, Basilio.” Flavia pushed him away. “You two should enjoy the celebration! A wedding is a great time to spend time together and test your relationship. I’ll keep the oaf out of your way as much as possible.”

Robin didn’t disagree. It gave her an excuse to be around Lon’qu throughout the night, after all.

“Besides, it could give you ideas for your very own wedding. We’d gladly host, you know. A Feroxi wedding is a week-long celebration!” Flavia laughed.

“A whole week?” Robin raised an eyebrow. One day was long enough.

“Lots of celebrations before and after the actual event- that’s why it's a whole week long.” Basilio pointed out.

“I don’t think either of us could handle a whole week of events like that.” Robin laughed.

“Absolutely not.” Lon’qu finally spoke up.

“Fine, fine.” Flavia shrugged. “But the offer to host is still on the table. Or to be a honeymoon destination.”

“We’re not engaged, yet.” Robin felt the need to make that clear.

Yet? The idea did feel special the more it was danced around.

“I know, but I can still anticipate it!” Flavia laughed. “I may not be a fortune teller, but I would bet on that.”

“Go have a drink and lighten up- both of you.” Basilio laughed. “Maybe then you’ll finally both really act on your feelings and let out some pent up-”

“Enough Basilio, you’re scaring them!” Flavia elbowed him again.

Lon'qu was mortified to still be in this conversation. Even Robin had become flustered.

“You should go before he keeps making comments. See you around!” Flavia waved them away before pushing Basilio off into a different conversation.

Robin and Lon’qu could hardly look at each other after that string of comments.

“... Let's take a moment and get some fresh air.” Robin started walking off, with Lon'qu quickly joining her.

Robin took a deep breath as soon as she felt the breeze outside. Much better.

“I'm sorry for all of their… comments.” Lon'qu sighed.

“You don't have to apologize. It's fine, really.” Robin turned to face him. “Besides… Maybe we could loosen up a little and be less secretive today.”

“What would you have us do?” He asked, genuinely.

“I was told that I should be expected to dance along with everyone tonight. Perhaps you could dance with me?” Her face felt warm for asking.

“I.. don't know how to dance.” He confessed.

“I don't either. We'll make it work.” She smirked. “I'd rather dance with you than anyone else who would ask me.”

“Fine. I'll… dance with you.” He gave in.

As much as Robin enjoyed being away from the party, she knew they couldn't stay out for too long. She had to make sure things were running smoothly, after all.

“We should probably head back inside.” She sighed. “I’d rather stay here with you.”

“I know. I feel the same.”

Lon'qu looked around to ensure that no one was watching them. He reached for her hand and moved it up to his lips, giving it a quick kiss.

“You look nice.” He mumbled.

Robin smiled and felt a blush on her face.

“Thank you. You look very handsome as well.”

She moved close to him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“I'll see you inside.” She gave a small wave and a smile before turning and walking back into the Grand Hall.

The party was as lively as ever, especially since the bride and groom had finally made their appearance. They had been practically swarmed by guests looking to chat or congratulate them.

This won't do.

Robin pushed her way through the crowd to reach the newlyweds.

“Chrom! Sumia! Let's get you to your table.” She insisted, urging them to follow. “You should eat something before your first dance.”

“Thank you, Robin…” Sumia whispered with a shy smile on her face.

“Sorry I didn't get there sooner. I took a moment to get some fresh air and didn't realize you would already be back.” Robin apologized.

“No need to worry, friend. You need your breaks as well.” Chrom insisted.

“Alright, take a seat and I'll tell the staff to bring you something to eat.” She stopped in front of their table. “I'll be back in a moment.”

Robin hurried off to her task, dodging guests in her path. Finally reaching the kitchen, she informed the staff to bring out some food. The plates full of hors d’oeuvres made Robin's stomach growl. She had hardly eaten a thing all day. Pushing that instinct down, she walked back out with one of the wait staff to bring food to the bride and groom.

“Here you both are. Eat up. You've got some time before the dance is set to start.” Robin dropped off the plate and moved off to her next task.

She found Frederick instructing some of the guards at the entrance.

“Frederick.” She approached.

“Yes, Robin?” He turned to face her.

“Chrom and Sumia are seated. Give them a few minutes to eat, and then we can progress with the dances.” She informed him.

“Very good. The event is going quite well, thanks to your planning.” Praise from Frederick was rare.

“Thank you. I'm trying to keep everyone satisfied, but mostly Chrom and Sumia. They deserve to enjoy it. Anyway, come find me if you need me.” And again, she was off to her next task.

She looked over to see Chrom and Sumia talking to each other after having finished their little meal. Perfect timing. Making her way towards the musicians, she signaled that they could change the music into the dance songs soon.

Moving out of the way, she went to the back of the room to watch and took a moment to breathe again as the floor was cleared for the first dance. Robin watched as Chrom and Sumia made their way to the center of the hall and began their first dance- a tradition as she was told. It wasn't long before Lon’qu stood by her side again. She heard her stomach growl again, made clearer by the near silence in the room other than the music leading the dance.

“Ugh, sorry.” Robin whispered.

“You're hungry. Have you eaten?” Lon'qu asked in a whisper.

“No. Not enough time.” She responded.

He frowned and walked off, eventually reappearing with a plate of food in his hand.

“Eat, before you pass out.” He ordered.

“Fine. Thank you.” She quickly took the plate and began to eat.

“You're going to overwork yourself to death.” He sighed.

“Not if you're here to help.” She smirked.

“Then you're lucky I'm here.” He huffed.

With the end of the bride and groom’s first dance, they opened the dance floor to the rest of the guests to join them in even more dancing. Robin recalled that this could go on for a while.

“We'll wait until someone insists that I join.” Robin offered.

Robin watched as the floor was full of couples dancing to the rhythm of the music. It was so elegant and noble watching them all sway in time to the music. They all had such practiced steps. She paid careful attention to their movements so she could replicate them when she’d get dragged out there.

Lissa and Maribelle made their way over to her in between songs.

“Robin! Come dance!” Lissa urged.

“Enjoy at least a single dance. It's quite simple to learn the motions.” Maribelle insisted.

“Alright, I'll try it out.” Robin gave in. She knew that the two of them would never let her get out of dancing anyway.

Robin looked at Lon'qu.

“Dance with me?” She asked, holding out her hand.

He didn’t say a word, but he took her hand and followed her through the crowd to the dance area.

Robin noticed Lissa and Maribelle giggling to each other as they watched her and Lon’qu get in the proper positioning to try to dance. She wondered what they were saying about them, but was also glad she couldn’t hear.

As the two of them began to sway to the music, they both felt a little out-of-place and awkward. Robin had done a fine job of leading the dance so they didn’t look too lost- but they both were quite far removed from all the nobles that they were surrounded by. She turned to focus on her dance partner, who was tense and avoided all eye contact.

Oh no he looks so nervous, Robin thought to herself. Better make conversation to distract him.

“I can confidently say I never want a wedding this elaborate.” Robin spoke up.

“Agreed.” He was starting to become slightly less tense.

“Dancing is interesting. It looks way harder than it actually is.” She shifted the topic.

“It's not so bad.” He agreed.

“You're not a bad dance partner.” She smiled.

He started to blush.

“What do you think about marriage?” She asked, testing the waters of that possibility.

“In what way?” He finally looked at her.

“Is that something you'd want?” She clarified. “I… think it would be nice.”

“I'm not opposed.” He had a small smile.

“That's really nice to hear.” She smiled back. “I'd be a little sad if you had said you couldn't see a future together.”

“You are my future.”

Robin was sure she had been the one to be bright red this time.

“If that's the case, then we should probably make this no longer a secret. People will be confused if they just get a wedding invitation out of the blue one day.” She laughed.

“Fair point. How do you want to do that?” He asked.

Robin bit her lip as she thought of possibilities.

“Well, we could go for the safer, but boring option. Or, there’s the daring and fun option.”

“Do I even want to know what that means?” He asked, an eyebrow raised.

Around them the music had come to its conclusion to give dancers a chance to leave or bring new people in for a dance.

“Do you trust me?” She asked, a sly smile on her face.

“Of course. But I am a little scared of what you’re about to do.” He admitted.

Robin took a breath, and then pulled Lon’qu in for a kiss.

“There. Now everyone knows.” She smirked and walked away, back to the edge of the room to watch.

Lon'qu had practically frozen in his place at that moment, but quickly hurried out of the way to escape the eyes that had turned towards them.

Robin could see the eyes that had noticed as she walked through the crowd, but she held her head high. She was proud of her choice. Now they didn't have to hide their relationship.

From one of the tables she could see Flavia smiling and Basilio giving them a thumbs up with a wide grin.

“I told you it would happen! Pay up, oaf!” Flavia laughed.

Lon'qu appeared by her side once again.

“See, my plan worked.” Robin celebrated.

“I feel everyone staring at us.” He mumbled.

“Don't worry about them.” She put her hand on his arm. “It’ll be okay, I promise. I take calculated risks. I knew it would be fine.”

“I know.” He took a deep breath. “I wasn't lying when I said I trust you.”

“I'd love to stay here, but I do have my security shift up soon. I need to go take my place. Come find me after.” She squeezed his arm and walked off.

She went off to find Frederick again and signalled that she was going to her shift. He nodded in response and Robin left the Grand Hall. She needed to make a quick stop at her room first, so she hurried through the halls. Once inside her room, she grabbed her sword and rushed back to her post.

“I'm here, sorry to make you wait, Cordelia.”

Cordelia had the post before her. She was dressed in her own gown and had her long hair pulled back into an elegant bun.

“No worry, Robin. I enjoyed the quiet out here.” Cordelia sighed.

“Things are wrapping up soon in there, I think they'll understand if you don't return to the party.” Robin said softly. She could tell that Cordelia had been hurting the whole day.

“Thank you. I think I'll probably take your advice and go off on a walk.” Cordelia looked off into the distance.

“Be safe. I'm here if you need me.” She waved as Cordelia walked off.

The sky had darkened into the evening hues above her. It had become a bit breezy out as well, making her shiver occasionally. Robin sighed and cursed herself for not bringing her coat with her.

She shifted her thoughts to the day. Even if it had been a busy day, she had enjoyed it. Her memories lingered over the kiss they had shared, pulling her lips into a smile. It had been a bold choice, but it was worth it. She had wondered if anyone had suspected that something was going on between her and Lon'qu. From an outside perspective, she would've found it suspicious how he had been comfortable enough to be close enough to even dance with each other.

The rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs pulled her out of her daydream as her head snapped up to see what was in the surrounding areas. Someone was nearby.

Fortunately for her, a figure made themselves seen and approached her.

Marth.

“What are you doing here?” Robin asked, sword still in hand. She wasn't sure how well she trusted Marth yet, even if she had helped them in the past. She was too cryptic- knew much more than she was letting on.

“I had heard that celebrations were in order. I came to pay my respects to the couple.” Marth stood, covered in a cloak, but with hands visible and not holding a weapon.

“Chrom would've invited you if you had shown interest before.” Robin lowered her sword.

“It's not my place as a visitor.” Marth shook her head. “Please don't mention that I was here.”

“Why?” Robin asked, confused.

“I'm sorry, I must be on my way. Farewell.” Marth turned and disappeared off into the night.

Robin groaned and sheathed her sword again. She was glad it hadn't been a real threat, but it still had irritated her.

Behind her, she heard footsteps. We're guests leaving already? No, it was just Lon'qu.

“Don't want to stay at the party without me?” She teased.

“No. I already had to deal with comments and questions.” He crossed his arms.

“Oh, sorry. Didn't think about that.” She laughed.

“You're going to freeze out here.” He shook his head and took off his coat, handing it over to her.

“Won't you be cold?” She asked.

“I'm used to cold weather. Take it.”

She pulled it over her shoulders. It felt nice and warm.

“The festivities should be ending soon anyway. Guests should start leaving at any moment. I left that as Frederick’s job because I didn’t want to deal with kicking out anyone unless necessary.” Robin stretched her arms out. “Besides, I’m ready to get out of this dress and heels. It may look nice but it’s not practical at all. Admire the get-up while you still can.”

He rolled his eyes, but then decided to let his eyes linger over her.

“Okay, not like that.” She laughed. “You’re making me feel embarrassed.”

“I thought that was what you wanted with your comment.” He smirked.

“Careful with those stares- I may not be able to stop myself from doing more than just a kiss if you keep going.” She bit her lip and looked away. Dangerous thoughts, Robin.

He finally looked away, though his red face and slight smile gave himself away.

“I’m supposed to be working anyway. You can’t distract me from my job.” She teased.

“I can leave and come back when you’re done.” He threatened.

“Noooo.” She whined. “You weren’t supposed to follow up on my witty humor! When did you become so good at comebacks?”

“I spend too much time around you.” He shrugged.

She was about to speak up when she heard footsteps and chatter behind her. She looked over to see a group of guests leaving the event. She thanked them for coming as they passed by.

“Guess my shift is almost over. Once everyone is out, I’m done with work for the night.” She yawned.

“Tired?” He asked.

“A little. It’s been a hectic day.” She pushed her hair back past her shoulders. “At least tomorrow I don’t have much planned. Chrom and Sumia postponed their honeymoon so that they could focus on the post-war efforts, but I still convinced them to take a few days off to relax.”

“That’s good for you as well. You actually will have time to relax.” He nodded.

“I just need to make sure everything is cleaned up inside the Hall. Other than that, I’m pretty free. I may even get to sleep in for once.” She laughed.

“What would you want to do tomorrow?” He asked.

“What do you mean?” She raised an eyebrow.

“We could spend the day together. What would you want to do?” He asked again.

“Oh.” She paused. “I don’t actually know. I don’t get much idle time to really think about things like that.”

“You don’t have to have an answer right now.” He clarified.

“I know. How about we go through town and just do some sightseeing?” She suggested.

“Fine with me.” Lon’qu hadn’t really familiarized himself much with Ylisstol, so it would give him a chance to see the city while also spending the day with Robin.

More groups of guests passed by them, leaving the event.

“I guess the party is over.” Robin said as more guests exited the venue.

Frederick followed some guests out and faced Robin at the entrance.

“Guests should be done leaving now. You are dismissed for the night.” Frederick instructed.

“Fantastic. Thanks Frederick. I'll see you tomorrow for clean up.” She waved and turned to head back into the castle, with Lon'qu following close behind.

The castle was much quieter now and everyone had either left, or retreated back into their rooms for the night. Guests still looking to continue their fun had relocated to nearby taverns.

As they approached Robin's room, she slowed down her walk until she stopped in front of the door. Turning to face Lon’qu, she pondered over what she wanted to say.

“I… don't want you to go yet.” She paused. “Stay with me… at least for a little while.”

Robin wasn't quite sure what she was asking for, but she felt like she would regret it if she didn't. She just wanted more time with him.

He stood there a moment as he registered her ask. She held her breath while she waited for a response.

“Very well.” He agreed.

Feeling satisfied that she had gotten her request granted, she turned and opened the door to her room. Her room wasn't anything special, but it was fairly spacious. She had a nice bed, a vanity, and a closet on one side. A bookshelf and a desk lined the wall closest to the door. The desk was full of books and various papers Robin had written on.

She set her sword down next to her desk and lit the few candles she had around the space to bring some light in.

“Welcome to my room.” She joked, feeling a little vulnerable and anxious about this new unexplored territory.

Lon'qu looked around the room, taking note of the space. She waited anxiously for something- anything- to happen.

Robin weighed her options in her mind. She had let herself loosen up considerably tonight as they had been closer and more romantic than they had ever been up to that point. She wondered how much further she could take things, while still keeping things comfortable for him. She would be perfectly content to not push things further if he didn’t want to- but part of her was urging her for more.

She stepped closer to him, standing right in front of him now. He instinctively tensed up as she put her arms around his neck and looked up into his eyes. Slowly, his arms wrapped around her waist, holding her closer.

“Tell me if it's too much. Please. I can stop whenever-”

Her words were cut off as his lips crashed into hers. As their lips parted, she caught her breath again.

“I can try. You know how to test my limits.” He spoke up.

“I am good at that. You've progressed well.” She teased.

“I trust you.” He said quietly, then went in for another kiss.

Trust is dangerous. Kiss me like this more and I may not be able to hold back anymore. Though I suspect he's not holding back tonight either. We'll see where the night takes us…

Robin grumbled as she slowly woke up. She had no idea if it was even morning yet, but she didn't have to be up early anyway. She tried to turn to her other side but stopped as she felt something on her. She looked down and saw an arm around her waist.

Oh!

She followed the arm back to see Lon’qu asleep beside her, his arm having held her close.

Right.

Her body was covered by nothing but the blankets on her bed. Her face burned hot at the memories of the previous night.

There's no way I can go back to sleep now. Not with… that… fresh in my mind.

She didn't mind being stuck in this position. Being this close was nice. She'd feel pretty content if she could wake up to this every day.

She felt Lon’qu's arm move, at first pulling her closer for a second before freezing in place.

“Are you awake?” She whispered.

He mumbled something she couldn't hear.

She turned over to face him. He couldn't hide the blush that took over his face.

“Hi!” Robin said with a smile.

“...morning.” He mumbled.

“How'd you sleep?” She asked.

“Comfortably.” He avoided her eye contact.

“Good!” She felt a little awkward as she didn't really know what to say.

“I… I mean, last night… It was… nice.” He finally spit out.

“It was.” She kissed his forehead. “You should stay here every night.”

“That… can be arranged.” He finally met her gaze again, with a slight smile on his face.

She leaned in and gave him a gentle kiss.

I could definitely get used to this everyday.
