I wanted to put this here for context so that way you as the reader can be kept up to speed (how considerate of me, I know).
This is an AU on the PS5 universe. I don't wanna spoil the story before you even read it, but this is the best way I can explain the general jist of things.
It’s one where the policeman ball wasn't canceled. However, after the events with Martin Li being imprisoned, another criminal with ties to Osborn releases GR-27 into Times Square and infects a bunch of people with the virus (including Yuri Watanabe, who keeps it a secret from everyone--including Spider-Man). After interrogating and getting info from an ex-demon gang member her police team arrested, she finds out that someone else had bought the remaining containments of GR-27 from Li before he got imprisoned, but the member didn't know who the buyer was. All he knew was that the buyer had multiple spots where he wanted to bomb the places with the virus and infect more people.
And before you ask, YES this is a fanfic where I am actively shipping Spider-Man with Yuriko Watanabe. And before someone else tries to say, "She's too old for him," guess what? This is an alternate universe. I changed the ages as well so they're closer in age. And Spidey in this universe actually KNEW Yuriko during his earlier years of being Spider-Man on account of her being the daughter of a former police captain and she was being trained to replace him. Good? Good. Let's get into it.
