Chapter Text
“Ughh, I can’t believe I’m stuck on a mission with Chuuya,” Dazai sighed dramatically. Mori had sent the two on a mission as a way for them to get along better (and possibly scheming something else as well).
“It’s not like I want to be on this mission either! Why are you acting like it’s MY fault!?” Chuuya yelled back. They started arguing back and forth when a black fog started forming.
Something dark started twisting.
“Chuuya! Look out!” Dazai yelled, but it was a little too late for that.
It goes dark.
.
.
.
Something starts rattling, startling Chuuya from his slumber. A murmur of two voices start becoming clearer; they sound faint as if they weren’t in the same room as him.
“You weasel! Why don’t you help me dammit!”
“Why don’t you do it yourself! And stop calling me that!”
“I’ll stop if you help me, you furball!”
‘Dazai…? And someone else? What...’
“MYAHH!” someone or something screams. The people outside the coffin got startled as the coffin was punched open.
“Chuuya!! You’re alive! Unfortunately…” Dazai says in a disappointed tone. Chuuya gets up from the coffin and looks at the two figures. “Dazai, where are we and who is that?” Chuuya asks angrily. “And why does it speak?” he adds.
Before Dazai could speak, the creature beat him to it. “MYAHH!?? WHO ARE YOU CALLING ‘IT’, HUMAN!? MY NAME IS GRIM, YOU TRAVEL-SIZE HUMAN!” yells Grim as he wails around.
“Haah!? Who are YOU calling ‘travel size’, you mutt!?” Chuuya yells back at Grim. He is not in the mood to be arguing with a flying mint bunny look-a-like, but here he is. He has no idea where both he and Dazai are and why they're here.
“And you never answered my question, Dazai. Where. Are. We. Where’d you take us!?”
Dazai sighs dramatically, “Why do you always assume I’M the one doing all the mess ups. Don’t you ever remember I’m the brains in our duo?”
“Doesn’t matter! Just tell me where we are!” Chuuya yells angrily. “I don’t know! Ughh Chuuya, can’t you see I was brought here with you!? How should I know, slug?” Dazai says in such a sassy manner. “HAAH!?”
‘Everything around them seems so strange and confusing. We’re definitely in a different world of some sort’ Dazai thinks. Chuuya looks at Dazai disbelieving, but decides to trust him. “Hmph. I guess we both don’t know where we are. Let’s find a way out then!” Chuuya then grabs Dazai’s wrist and starts running.
“MRAHH!? If you guys are going to leave, then at least give me one of you guys’ uniforms-! MRAH! Hey where are you guys going!?” Grim yelled and started chasing after them.
“Tch. That cat is pretty fast for how small and chubby it looks,” Chuuya says. “Let’s go this way!” They start running towards what seems like a library.
.
.
.
Inside the library, Dazai laid splat on the ground breathing heavily while Chuuya closed the door. This isn’t something Chuuya has seen before. He’s never even seen this place in Yokohama before, so where is he?
“Foolish humans! Did you really think you could slip away from ME?” Grim says arrogantly. Chuuya was starting to get pissed off by the cat creature.
“Now, unless you wanna get burned to a crisp, take off that- Me-YEOW!” A loud sound of a whip cracks throughout the building. This startles Chuuya and Dazai looks up, as Grim screeches in pain.
“That hurt! What gives!?” says Grim, hurt from the whip. “Consider it tough love,” says a man with a top hat and a masquerade mask shaped like a crow's beak. ‘He seems suspicious…’ Chuuya thinks.
“Ah, there you two are. I’ve found you both at last. I trust you both are this year’s new students?” says the weird-looking man. Both Dazai and Chuuya looked confused at his statement, but Dazai quickly regained composure.
“What the hell do you mean ‘students’? Who the hell are you!?” yelled Chuuya. “Quit being so loud… you’re the loudest dog I’ve ever heard,” Dazai said as he covered his ears. Chuuya starts to become more irritated and kicks Dazai’s head. “OW!! You’re being mean! Mister, expel him this instant!!” dazai wails dramatically.
“Silence you two!” yells the crazy crow man. “Not only do you both run off and bring in a rebellious familiar, but you both are also incredibly loud and obnoxious!”
“I’m not anyone’s familiar! Let alone one of THOSE idiots’ familiar!" Grim yelled. “Yes, yes, rebellious familiars say that all the time. Now, do be quiet for a bit, won’t you?” crow man says as he silences Grim, muffling his cries.
Crow man sighs out loud. “Dear me, I’ve never thought I’d see anyone open their own gate and step out of it.”
“Huh? A gate?” Chuuya thinks out loud. He did not see a gate of any sort before he got here, but it seems like Dazai knew at least something.
“Now, now. Your orientation has already begun. Come on now you trouble makers, let us return to the magic chamber,” says the crow man and picks up Chuuya, Dazai, and Grim.
