Catpy

Summary:

"You're my pretty kitty."

Skeppy's cheeks reddened just slightly at the pet name. "I don't like when you use my teases against me," he pouted with furrowed brows. Bad laughed in his face, kissing the tip of his nose with his response.

"I think you love it," Bad said with a hum.

"I don't love it, I love you," Skeppy said earnestly.

Or, Catboy Skeppy origins

Work Text:

"Bad, do you think we'd be in love in every universe?"

Bad looked up from his laptop at the man lounging on the other side of his bed. They were supposed to be doing their homework for their respective classes, but it was clear by Skeppy's position he wanted to do anything but that. He was laying on his back with his legs hung over the wooden bedframe. His papers and pencil were strewn about along the foot of the bed.

"In love?" Bad couldn't help but smile a little. He saw the way Skeppy's face reddened slightly at the intonation, but didn't give him a chance to revise his wording. He thought them to be in love too, of course, but it was nice hearing it from his boyfriend.

"I think so," Bad decided to humor him. "Like at least once in every reality," he was so sure in his answer, Skeppy questioned if he'd thought about this before.

"Really?" Skeppy received a nod and a hum from the older, attention still mostly on his schoolwork. "Good, because so do I," he said affirmatively, a smile beginning to grow on his face. He saw Bad's smile was growing too, only with fondness whereas Skeppy was starting to feel mischievous. He was a little fond too, he supposed.

"I think even if you got mind controlled by, like, a giant evil egg I'd still find a way to fall in love with you," he said with a hum in his tone. Bad spluttered, fingers hovering over his keyboard as he looked back at Skeppy. "What are you talking about??" He asked with a surprised laugh. "What? It could happen," Skeppy defended with a smirk, swinging his legs off the bedframe and to the side so only his top half was on the bed. He held himself up with his elbows.

"No, it could not," Bad started, but paused himself to think of the possibilities. "Okay, I guess it can, considering there's an infinite amount of alternative realities, but still! Why's that the first one you come up with?" He closed his laptop and set it on the desk next to his bed. He couldn't focus enough to actually write anything in the moment.

"I dunno," Skeppy shrugged, smiling at Bad's now undivided attention on him, "I think I had a dream about it once." The diamond stood up from the bed then, only to climb back on and take up the space between Bad and the wall. It wasn't much space, really. He had his back to the wall and he had to put his legs out over Bad's to properly stretch them out.

The demon didn't mind however, he was content to rest his left hand on Skeppy's knee while his right was tucked under his own arm. He wore this knowing smirk as he watched Skeppy get comfortable, only to be met with Skeppy's own faux-innocent one. "What?" The diamond poked his tongue out with the question, knowing exactly what Bad knew.

"You were just waiting for me to put my computer down, weren't you?" He asked, to which Skeppy scoffed playfully.

"Nnooooo," he was lying, straight through his teeth. "It just so happened that the space was there when I decided to move."

Bad rolled his eyes at that, but he smiled still, "yeah, okay. Like I believe you, you muffinhead." He circled his thumb around Skeppy's knee, a simple motion that gave his hand something to do.

"What, are you calling me a liar?" Skeppy asked, smirking and leaning forward just the smallest bit. He tilted his head teasingly, like he was trying to get Bad to do something.

"Well I ain't calling you a truther," Bad chuckled, matching Skeppy's movements. His tail shifted slightly against the comforter. It was totally working.

Skeppy scoffed, but he didn't lose his smile, "how dare you accuse me of lying?" He leaned forward again, getting more in Bad's space than before. "I should leave right now if you think that!"

"Nooooo, Sgeppy don't leave," Bad was quick to change his tune. He looped his arms around Skeppy's waist, pulling him closer so he could plant quick pecks to his boyfriend's face in apology. He basically had the diamond man in his lap. "I'm sorry, you're not a liar," he insisted, a satisfied hum leaving the diamond man as one last kiss was left just on the corner of his mouth.

"I guess you can be forgiven," Skeppy said plainly, smile still evident in his voice as he brought his hand up to tangle into Bad's brown hair. Bad smiled softly at the contact, leaning into the light scratching of the younger's fingers on his scalp. His tail began to thump then, lightly hitting the mattress as he basked in the affectionate attention. "Only because your cute," Skeppy added on, pulling Bad's head toward him so he could place a kiss on his forehead.

"'M not cute," was Bad's retort, though he didn't fight the pull. He was cool, hardcore even, but not cute. Though it wasn't like he completely minded when Skeppy would call him that.

"Yeah, right," Skeppy chuckled, watching Bad's features move into a pout. "You're cuter than a puppy dog," he insisted, a call back to a past conversation.

"Not fair," Bad winged, "if I'm a dog, you have to be something too."

"And what, pray tell, is that, DogBoyHalo?" Skeppy snickered as Bad made a sort of growling noise.

"A cat," the demon said in a definitive tone, making Skeppy burst into laughter almost immediately. He threw his head back against the wall as he covered the lower half of his face with a sweater paw in attempt to muffle the sound. Bad only looked at the man with fake annoyance.

"That's fucking—" Bad made a noise of displeasure, "freaking hilarious." Skeppy's laughter had died down, and he moved his hand away from his face to instead loop his arms over Bad's shoulders. "How am I a cat?" He asked, one last giggle accompanying the question.

Bad made a noise that was something between a hum and a growl in the back of his throat. "Well first of all, you're just as clingy as a cat could be," he began, bringing just one hand to rest on one of Skeppy's arms. Clearly that one wasn't exclusive to just Skeppy. "Two, you love to troll and push people's buttons—"

"That's not a cat thing—"

"Yes it is! You ever seen those videos where cats knock stuff off the desk just because someone put it there? That's you to a Tee," Skeppy rolled his eyes, choosing to not fight this one. "And exhibit C—"

"I thought you were doing numbers?"

"Shut up," the taller snapped while the shorter giggled at him, "you love to take naps, like all the time."

"Okay, those are all stupid reasons," Bad squawked at the insult, "I'm obviously not a cat. You're just saying that because you don't wanna be the only one assigned an animal," Skeppy reasoned.

Bad shook his head, "nooo, you're like a cat, trust!" The demon insisted, wrapping his arms tighter around his boyfriend. Like he'd be able to squeeze the disagreement out of him. "You're just as smug as one too, and pretty," that last one slipped out on accident, but it was true. He thought Skeppy was a very pretty man. Then he got an idea, a smug smile of his own forming on his face.

He loosened his hold on the man and patted Skeppy's knee, letting his hand rest there again. The diamond shook his head at the accusation, but didn't complain anymore as Bad leaned into him to rest his mouth on the crook of his boyfriend's neck. His forehead rested on the cool wall of the dorm room. Bad always kept the room a little colder when Foolish wasn't around; the shark always had it too hot for the demon. They fought about it all the time.

The diamond huffed out a sigh as he let his fingers thread through Bad's hair again, near the base of his neck. "I don't love it, I love you," Skeppy said earnestly, earning him a tender kiss from Bad. He hummed in appreciation.

"I love you too, Kitty," Bad giggled at the annoyed groan from his diamond. The shorter man had half a mind to shove him away, but that would mean having to make a show of it by getting off his lap, which he was way too comfortable to even think about that.

He did quite the opposite actually, curling up his legs and shuffling forward so he was even more in Bad's lap than before. Bad accepted the shift and splayed his hand out on his boyfriend's back in order to better support his weight. "You're so stupid," Skeppy mumbled as he turned his head to kiss the side of his boyfriend's face.

The demon giggled at the feeling, rubbing his hand up and down Skeppy's back encouragingly. "I don't mind being stupid if it gets me kissies," he singsonged with a smile, closing his eyes to focus more on the feeling of Skeppy's smooches. The diamond rolled his eyes and ended his kiss brigade.

"You dog," Skeppy said, resorting to name calling. It only made himself laugh when he heard the soft thumping of Bad's tail on the bed.

"Your dog," Bad seemed to be correcting him, and Skeppy just had to reward him by pulling him into a kiss. It was nice and slow, his hand coming up to play with Bad's hair again.

"Yeah, you are," the shorter man smirked as he pulled away, running his hand through the taller's soft brown locks. Bad hummed appreciatively. "Now let's go to sleep. I'm tired from working all day.."

Bad opened his eyes quickly, "Skeppy, you hardly even did anything." He gestured to the papers still messily laying at the foot of the bed.

Oh yeah. Skeppy forgot about that.

"Yeah... It's okay, it's not due till after spring break anyway," Skeppy shrugged and nuzzled his head under Bad's chin. He hoped he'd be cute enough for Bad to forget about the assignments or something. If only he could be so lucky.

"Geppy, you should work on it now so you don't forget about it during break," Bad made a very good point. Not good enough for Skeppy it seemed, as he made a dissatisfied noise and buried his face deeper into his boyfriend's shoulder, rubbing his cheek against the spot as if that would change the man's mind.

To be fair, it almost did. Bad had half a mind to pull his diamond even more on top of him and fall asleep then and there. Not because he was tired, but because Skeppy wanted to. He was willing to do almost anything to keep his man happy, usually.

"No, no, you should get at least a good bit of it done now," Bad insisted, rubbing his hands against the other's shoulders as a subtle way to push him off. Skeppy gave him an annoyed face as he was gently pushed away, which was challenged with Bad's puppy dog eyes. They each held their ground for a good few seconds before the shorter of the two gave in.

"Mmm, fine," Skeppy groaned before sitting up himself, leaning over to gather his stupid papers, pencil, and folder. He set them in his lap while still sitting mostly in Bad's.

Bad smiled and kissed him on the cheek, a smile cracking on the younger's face as he got to work. The demon took the opportunity to grab his laptop from his desk and open it back up, balancing the computer on Skeppy's knee before he began typing once again. The two fell into a comfortable silence as they did their respective assignments.

Bad loved this, just sitting with Skeppy while they did their own things. It was comforting, to say the least. To be able to just sit with someone and bask in their presence, all while not saying a word.

Skeppy wasn't going to complain either, aside from the fact that he actually had sit and do his work. He hated teachers that assigned homework over break. It's like they wanted their students to suffer. Bad shared that same sentiment, but was much better at working through that discontentment.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances of working on school work, the two college students were very happy with their predicament. It was nice. They felt nice.

That was all that mattered, really.
