Chapter 1: (one)

Chapter Text

“...”

“...”

They stared at each other, awkwardly.

Jing Yuan with a goofy smile on his face, unable to process any reaction due to surprise, and Yingxing serious, with a dead fish look.

“Well, yeah, this is strange. Haha!”

The first said, scratching the back of his neck.

The second nodded in agreement. His grip on the suitcase handle tightened, and he replied in a monotone voice:

"If you are uncomfortable sharing a dorm with me, I can request a change at the coordinator's office.”

“No! Definitely not!” Jing Yuan raised his hands, waving them exaggeratedly in front of his body, denying. “I'm just… surprised!! Pleased, even!”

Yingxing lifted an eyebrow.

“Pleased?”

The other's smile widened. He quickly rushed to grab Yingxing's bags, bringing them inside.

“Well… yeah! It's been some years, hm?”

Yingxing hugged his own body, looking a little hesitant to enter. His expression wasn't the better either.

Jing Yuan, noticing the other's lack of response, turned his gaze to him, after leaving his luggage on his side of the room.

“What's wrong, Yingxing?”

“Ren.”

He responded, immediately.

Jing Yuan went to him, tilting his head slightly to the side.

“What?”

“Call me Ren, from now on.”

He said, finally entering the dormitory and heading to where his things had been placed, without even looking at Jing Yuan.

The last blinked his eyes slowly, trying to understand.

But he didn't question it, just closed the door and headed inside.

“Yes, sure.”

There was no rush.

Ren and he were now roommates.

Regardless of the years they had spent apart, they would have time to catch up.

He was positive.
