Chapter Text
What the fuck is this kid doing here.
118o8 grips the cardboard box’s edge, expression turning into a scowl. “Fucking stupid teenage parents!” She whisper-yelled. She takes the child inside the box. It seemed to be a non-humanoid Robloxian, with an oversized lizard tail growing from its rear and its blue skin.
There appeared to be a note on the box. She picked it up.
”To Ms. 118o8, I am very sorry to place this child on your doorstep. You must understand that I come from a place of abuse and a child like bluudud will never survive this world I live in. I hope you take him in with love. - sky_g4ll”
“I don’t need a kid.” She spat. She placed the blue child back in his box. “So your name’s bluudud, huh? Lame fucking name.” She said, picking up the box and walking towards a nearby alleyway. She kept muttering about “stupid parents” and “irresponsible stupid teen fucks” or something like that.
The little baby awoke, making grabby hands at 118o8. She responded with a mere scowl. “Eugh. I’m not your fucking mom.” She spat.
“I’d kill you, but no I’d be committing infanticide.” She kept on walking until she reached an alleyway. She looked around before dropping the box near a dumpster. “There. Your new house.” She said walking away from the alleyway. The baby wailed in distress as his so-called guardian dropped him there.
…
…
What the hell is that sound?
Jasper blinked, stopping mid-lighting his cigarette. He dropped the cigarette, shoved the lighter in his pocket and walking towards the wailing. He could barely see, as the sunlight was jarring since he had stayed in the shadows most of the day. He squinted behind his glasses, crouching down at the box.
Bluudud, however, suddenly stopped crying as he looked at the new man in front of him. Small whines of unshed baby tears were heard, but that was really it. He reached up at Jasper, grabbing at a part of his hot pink hair.
“Hey there kid. Who left ya here?” Jasper asked, voice soft. “Wait, why am I asking this? It’s not like he can talk.” He backtracked. He shook his head, his hand coming to gently push away bluudud’s. “No, don’t tug on my hair. I just got it re-dyed.”
He picked up a note stuck to the side of the box.
”Look here. Whoever’s reading this shit, TAKE HIM. I don’t need a fucking burden. He’s not even human.” it read. Jasper can’t help but wonder where he’d seen the handwriting as it was very familiar to him.
He sighed, placing the note back. “Looks like I’m getting soft. Right, buddy. You’re coming home with me.” He said, picking up bluudud and wrapping him with the blanket in his box. The blue baby cooed at Jasper, grabbing at his face.
Jasper chuckled slightly. He walked back over to his dorm, fumbling with the key. When he finally opened the lock, he stepped in and toed off his shoes. His roommate, 007n7, looked up. “Hey, man. What the- WHAT DID YOU BRING IN????” The drakkobloxer-like Robloxian asked.
“Some kid. He was abandoned apparently.” Jasper answered.
“Yeah, well- WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT BRINGING THINGS IN???” 007n7 shouted. Jasper winced slightly at the volume of his roommate’s voice. “Yeesh, I get it. Thing is, kid looks like he’s barely alive.” He replied.
007n7 sighed, rubbing his temples. “Look man, if you wanna keep him, be my guest. But don’t expect me to help.”
Jasper nodded and rolled his eyes. He walked over to his room, opening the door. His brows furrowed in thought on how he could make his room baby-friendly. Maybe he could move over a few things to the edge of the room? That’d work, but where’d the kid sleep? He tapped his foot on the floor, deep in thought. He could find cardboard boxes and—wait. The kid was in a cardboard box. Why didn’t he just take it with him? Ugh, there was no use thinking about it. The kid’s just gonna sleep on his bed for the time being.
He placed the baby down on his bed, being careful to not accidentally hurt the child. He sighs, plopping down onto the floor. Gosh, why was he doing this? He barely knew how to care for a kid, let alone a baby. He really was too soft for this world, even if he kept it tucked away in a box pretending to be a tough guy.
He pulled his knees up to his chest, burying his face in his knees. A suppressed sob, a sound so slight, escaped his lips as the events of the day crashed over him. No tears fell out just yet. Bluudud heard Jasper’s sobbing, babbling at his direction to grab his attention. The baby turned around on its stomach to face Jasper. Jasper looked up, his face—save for one eye—hidden by his striking pink hair.
“What d’ya want, kid? ‘S not like I’d be the best dad for ya.” He muttered, sniffling as he did so. The baby only replied with nothing more than a babble and making grabby hands at Jasper’s face, clearly wanting to be picked up. Jasper’s sobs halted slightly, wiping at his face and gently taking Bluudud in his arms. The blue baby grinned with a gummy smile at his face, babbling happily as Jasper picked him up.
Jasper had to admit, this baby was kinda cute when he was happy. He was already feeling better from seeing the child’s smile. “Y’know, you’re a damn cute baby. How could your parent abandon you?” Jasper said softly, throwing the baby up in the air slightly. Bluudud was delighted by this, giggling how babies do when he was thrown in the air.
Maybe, this whole ‘taking care of some baby i found near a dumpster’ thing’s gonna work out fine.
