Sober heart sober mind...[KEBBIE]

Summary:

The worst thing to happen to a man is go sober....

Notes:

The title is a ref to Kissing Strangers

Work Text:

Drip….drip….drip…. The leftover waterdrops from the rain fall, coating the pavement with wetness.

Every glisten from the water reminding him of those sweet plump lips, the cloudy sky reminding him of the guy's gray attitude.

Tik…tik…the clock ticks softly, being the background noise that he had desperately needed.

He can’t focus his vision, not in the best condition, wishing he were high right now, living in fear of what would happen, the sober thoughts aching in the background of his mind.

Silence, aching silence in the dark corner of the stairwell, clutching his knees and resting his head down in utter misery.

“There you are, why the fuck are you hiding?” The gruff voice said calmly, which was unusual.

“I’m just not feeling well, that's all. I’m fine….just leave me alone.”

He knew that wasn’t convincing; it couldn't even convince himself. The pain of having to deny these feelings is bursting his heart with pain, and the atmosphere of being in this miserable dump is affecting his sober mind, wishing to go home.

After a moment of silence, the blonde boy felt the warmth and comfort from a guy he wished he could call a friend.

“Ugh…. listen up, you fucking leperchuan I don’t give a flying fuck if it's nothing because we both know that it is, so man up and tell me about it….what’s picking at ya’?”

He looked over at him, eyes glossy with hidden pain that had been building up from the stuff he went through, the current living state for men in the 1950’s being silently questioned if he’s ‘one of them’, it was all so much.

He shifts over, placing himself on his friend’s lap and hiding his face in his shoulder.

“Hey, what the fu-....”

sniff …sniff…

“I just wanna go home….I….I….miss my mom and my bed….”

“So you dont wanna be here.”

“No….honestly, I don’t know things have felt weird around you, and it’s not you, it's me really, but every time I wake up I just can’t get you out of my head…”

They stare into each other’s eyes longingly Kenny slowly leaning in his body in full motion.

The kiss was soft, achingly soft. It felt warm like home, yet felt out of this world to him. He tasted a sweet but sour, bittersweet feeling in between.

It was a guilty pleasure for him, and he longed for it to last forever if he could.
